While ducking to pick up the rock, he ditches trying to pick it up and raises his shield to block the knee. If successful, he would grab the spear the man is holding, trying to keep it in place while he would try to bash the person with his shield.

Militiaman: His spear is taken out of his control easily, and the shield bash sees him quickly unconcious, as it collides against the other man's helmet. The soldier falls backwards onto his back, like a fallen tree.

Ivan was a little surprised he managed to shake it off so quickly. It seems these 'brigands' or just Bradley in general, are more than he originally thought. He has to think of a way to disable him, and quickly. Him being so close to him, he pulls his free arm around Bradley's sword arm, and twists it around to put him in an arm bar. Provided this were successful, the sword would slip out from Bradley's hand and fall to the floor, or he had just simply still held it but weakly.

((We're not going to kill Bradley off so easily will we?))

He takes his helmet off of the militia man and puts it back on his head where it belongs. He unsheathes his greatsword, and finishes the job, giving the man a quick stab to the face. "May the Lord have mercy upon you and your brothers, for you have burned an entire village in cold blood." He sheathes his greatsword back in it's scabbard, as he walks back toward the gate where Boris was at, his helmet looks awfully beat up and dented, as well as his shield having numerous scratch marks, he thinks to himself it might be time to go visit a blacksmith again...

The Sargent lacks the focus to prevent the grab, but recovers in time to act against it. He holds his sword tightly, prior to the twist, and lunges his weight forward, attempting to, instead, force Ivan to fly over the bar's counter, and land on his back. Though if he retained a hold on his arm, he may find himself going over the counter with Ivan, or harming himself in some way, against the counter.

(It is quiet... too quiet... welp, time to make a joke post!) (JOKE POST, IGNORE THIS POST) The Kool-Aid Man suddenly crashes through the wall. "OOOHHH YEAH." And everything explodes. The End. (joke post, ignore.)

Just the way he wanted it. With Bradley in an arm-bar, he could potentially break his arm if need be. Of course, he could try to wrestle the sword off him but that would prove without success. He thrusts his arm up taking Bradley along with him. If successful, this would force Bradley up on the balls of his feet. If he were to resist, his arm will most likely be broken.

Bradley is taken in an arm bar, as anticipated. The height difference here was to Ivan's benefit. Despite The man's strength, leverage was important, and he lacked it here. The sword drops from his hand and clatters to the floor. Now, more prone towards survival, the Sargent brings his free hand around for a powerful strike against Ivan's helmeted head. It would do no significant damage, but would perhaps rattle him enough to have him loose his arm. If he succeeded in freeing himself, his next move would be towards the door, instead of Ivan, likely to either return with more men, or with a new weapon.

Ivan's eyes almost light up as Bradley drops his sword. Perhaps a means of submission? A surrender? Either was good for him as he'd rather stop fighting and escape, or at the very least, knock him unconcious. His thoughts are suddenly halted as Bradley delivers a punch to his armoured face, pretty much making him stagger slightly, causing him to let go, giving Bradley a chance to escape. As Bradley made his escape, he simply stood there, and watched. "Agh!" He utters as he holds his nose. It was slightly bleeding surprisingly enough, but he tries his best to ignore it. He turns to Kalliope and nods. "You're safe now..." He pauses to clear his throat. "So... have you seen any other survivors?"

Calliope puts the knife down, and picks the sargent's sword. She considers wether she should break it or keep it. She decides to keep it, and hands it to Ivan who might need it more than her. "No others than Tarben. And he has escaped. Hopefully she says." she walks over and grabs the bundle of books and scriptures. "You never told me what you're doing here." she says.

Ivan takes a look at his sword he was holding, then at Kalliope, then at his sword. Understanding he still looks like a legitimate threat, he places his sword back in its scabbard. His eyes widen as she picks up the sword, and he tenses up. He thought she might strike him with the sword, but then calms down as she hands it to him. He nods and takes hold of the longsword. He examines it, mostly turning its sides and inspecting its pommel. He has no need for such a grand weapon, but he'll keep it as a trophy in some aspect.

"I've come to find survivors. It isn't right for brigands to take such a peaceful town. I should know, I've been here for a while..." He pauses for a second and watches Kalliope grab the books and scriptures. Something tells him she's of academic rank or on the lines of that. "Come with me if you want to live." He holds out his hand for her to grab.

(wow, nice reference.) Drake continues on his way back to the road to see if Boris is still there, he crawls into the bushes again and starts to whisper. "Boris...? Hey, ya'll here?"

Boris lunges a hang up from a bush from which he was once hidden, to take Drake by the arm, "Shh." he says swiftly, putting a finger over his lips.. He points a little further north, towards a somewhat large heard of Oxen, that roam about, "Don't want to spook them. They'll charge at ya."

He looks over to the oxen. "...What are they doing this close to a village? That's unusual, atleast where I come from, oxen usually stay away from walls and towns." He whispers.

Boris strokes his beard, narrowing his eyes as a new.. Insane, idea, strikes him. He snaps his fingers, and emerges from the bushes. Without a second thought, the wild man is running towards the Oxen, and giving one of them a swift slap on the behind!

Suddenly enraged, the Oxen charge towards Boris, who starts running at full speed back towards the village, which is some ways away, "Run your armored lug!!" he exclaims to Drake, charging back to the village's Northern wall, with a herd of larde cumbersome animals in his trail.

She can't see a better alternative. The one hiding spot in the village is now discovered, and the sargent will be back, maybe even with more men. She sighs. "Wait." she says. She puts her book bundle down, and rips a piece of cloth from the sleeve of her dress. She hands it to him. "For your nose." she explains with a light smile. "Which way are we going?" she askes.

He stumbles to his feet in a panic, running at full speed away from the stampede, with his armor clinking loudly with every step. "What in oblivion were you thinking?!"

Meanwhile, the Sargent has rallied a few of them men, that were outside the town's hall. Ten in total, far too many to be handled. He shouts an order, though the words would not ring true in the ears of those inside, it was certainly an attack order. The men within his command would start towards the inn, giving them only a few seconds to escape.

Meanwhile, the mass of reinforcements finally reach the southern gate. It was far too late to search more buildings, soon a mass would be upon them.

"Ah!" Ivan exclaims as he was given the torn bit of cloth. He examines it for a brief nano-second before shoving into his pocket for later. "Thank you very much. But anyway, we're heading to the West gate with any other survivors. If we can find this 'Tarben' fellow, then we can all make it out of this alive." Ivan unslings his bow from his shoulder and readies an arrow on it. "Let's go."

Meanwhile, alongside Drake of Sundermill, Boris runs at full sprint towards the village! Dodging trees, leaping over logs, ducking beneath branches. "I've got an idea, but it requires a few tons of pure Oc power!" he exclaims, sprinting like a madman through the brush and the snow. He's quick, for a big man, but of course he has a lot of reason to move quickly!

The sound of hooves would be heard from the town, coming in from the north. And they were coming fast.
