Lucia pulled his bag over his shoulder and stood.

"What is it?"

Xelera turned to answer him, but was interrupted by a giant black cat like creature tackling her to the ground. It knocked her back with such force she got the air knocked out of her. She grabbed the neck of the creature as it snapped it's giant jaws at her neck, her arms shaking as she struggled to keep those jaws from her neck. Her dagger was on her hip, but she could risk moving her hands.

Thick shadows suddenly sprouted from Xelera's chest, acting like spikes and shooting up, impaling the cat. Lucia ran forward and scooped the elf girl up, running out of the cave and quickly jumping into one of the trees.

"I wont be able to do that for very long. We need to run!"

She nodded as they ran, her legs taking her as fast as they could go. Unfortunately when you are trying to out run more than one 400lb feline made out of muscle, it was proving to be rather hopeless. If only she had her bow, if that bastard hadn't of destroyed it she could have easily taken them out.

Another creature sprung from the side, almost getting her. She managed to dodge at the last second, running straight at a tree, she ran up the side, flipping backwards as the creature collided with the tree as it went to attack her. She pulled her dagger from her hip, jumping onto the cat like creature and jamming the blade through the top of its skull.

A black sword materialized in Lucia's hand, and he spun, stabbing another cat as it jumped at him and flining it to the side.

"Not good at all... And I'm not strong enough to shift right now..." He sliced at another, but it avoided the blow and vanished into the trees around them.

Xelera panted as she ran at him, grabbing his arm and yanking him after her. "Keep moving!" she shouted, pulling him a long as more cats came to their heels. Xelera knew only one way to lose them, but it was risky. She ran towards the west, and they came along side a river, the rapids were wild, there would be no way for them to cross without being swept away by the current. She ran down the length of the river, looking ahead as the ground seemed to stop, and drop at least 80 feet. She had never been down past this waterfall, but it was the only way for them to escape.

Suddenly two cats leapt from behind a tree, blindsiding Lucia and pinning him to the ground. Another launched at Xelera.

A sudden whistle sounded through the air, and the beasts stopped, growling loudly. A tall, pale figure in leather armor and a bow appeared nearby, followed by two more hunters.

"Ahhh... The King's Daughter and the Monster. Finally caught up with you." the leader lifted up his hat and sneered at Xelera. "Long time no see, traitor. You remember ol' Jet, don't you?"

Xelera turned seeing Jet, he was her brothers best friend. "Jet please, I didn't kill him..please you have to believe me, what purpose would I have to kill him?" she pleaded, glancing down at Lucia to make sure he was okay.

"Shut your mouth, dhaeraow." The elven word for traitor left his lips like a curse. He aimed his bow at Xelera and the two hunters did as well.

"You are to be sentenced to death, by order of the king. But as much as I would like to do you in myself, you will be executed in the way of our people. You and the Monster. Now drop your dagger, or I'll have my pets have a taste of your friend."

Xelera frowned, dropping the dagger to the ground. She narrowed her eyes at Jet, "Please Jet...What I said was the truth, I didn't kill my brother! I've been trapped in another world, I just now got back thanks to Lucia." Running now would be suicide, and Jet was the best archer of her clan.

"It's pointless trying to talk your way out of it." He said. Although he did lower his bow. He gave a nod, and one of the hunters shot, the arrow whizzing by and nicking her neck. The drugged tip quickly did it's work, and she would collapse.

When she awoke, she would be in a cell, her dagger gone, her armor gone and a peasant's shawl wrapped around her.

"... they took my bag... again." Lucia was in a cell opposite of hers.

Xelera sat up slowly, holding her head as she blinked, trying to focus. "Lucia?" she asked to confirm it was his, it was dark and she couldn't really see. She assumed it was him, since he mentioned his bag twice now.

"Here..." he said, chains rattling a little.

"They beat me up then chained me to a wall... how's that for being thorough?" He said sarcastically. "How are you holding up?"

She frowned, crawling over to the cell door and sitting beside it. She could see him a little better now, and she could tell they had did a number on him. "I'm sorry Lucia.." she whispered, feeling incredibly guilty. "I'm fine.." she replied, leaning her head against the cell wall.

"Don't be sorry, you haven't done anything to me yet."

His humor still hadn't left him. "And don't worry, we'll get out of this. I know it. I've been in worse situations before..."

He was quiet for a bit.

"... Um, what exactly IS an Elvish Execution?"

Xelera frowned slightly, "You are burned alive in the fire of life." she said, leaning her head back. "That fire in the castle..it symbolizes life and judgement."

".... That's a bit harsh, don't you think?" Came his slightly nervous response.

"Is there anything you know that I could use? Any details of when or ceremony involved?"

She sighed slightly, "No elf has been executed in over 200 years. So I don't know how the ceremony goes." she swallowed, closing her eyes. "I am the first to die in over 200 years" she chuckled cynically, "I bet my father is so proud."
