"Swell..." he said, sighing. Then he frowned.

"Should... you're father die after this. Who would be in charge?"

"Well it would be me, but I've basically been denounced from the clan which means a foreign elf has more of a chance than I do. " she said, rubbing the back of her neck and thinking on it. "I don't really know, I think if kin dies out, the next in line would be the strongest male."

"Aaaand... the strongest male would prolly be.... Mr. Smileys who owns those big cat's right?"

She frowned slightly, "Jet? Perhaps, but he is our best archer, but there could be a number of elves suitable for the job." she glanced over towards him, "Are you saying Jet might be behind this?"

"I'm just saying that, why, if you were gone already, would someone who had nothing to gain drag you all the way back here JUST to see you killed? It adds a lot to a guys rep if he brings in a traitor."

Lucia rubbed his head best he could.

"I think we need to get out of here first, then worry about the details."

She frowned, thinking about what he said. Maybe he was right, she couldn't trust anybody. She glanced over at him, knitting her brows together, "And how are we going to do that?" she asked.

Clatter clatter.

A shadow moved across the floor and into her cell, and Lucia formed next to her. Picking her up bridal style he turned her and him back to shadows, and out of the cell and into the hallway.

"They reaaaally need to sedate me if they want to keep me in place." he said with a grin.

"Shh" she said, nudging him as she looked down the hallway making sure it was all clear. She turned to him, placing a palm on each of his cheeks and kissing him softly on the lips. It was a chaste kiss and she quickly moved away, heading down the hall.

Lucia blinked, grinned, then followed after her.

They were in the west tower, which was a very ugly place seperate from the rest of the castle. Although every time they passed a window they could see the giant inferno burning on top of the castle.

"Why aren't there any gaurds?" he whispered, glancing around.

She glanced back at him, frowning slightly, "Just because you can't see them does not mean they arent there." she said, looking back forward and crouching down slightly.

"Hey, I'm aaall about hiding. I just don't want to be blindsided..."

Xelera moved quietly through the dark halls, her eyes watching for anything. If they made it out this easy she'd be surprised.

As they continued to move, Xelera stopped suddenly, pressing herself against the wall. She glanced at Lucia, "Those doors lead out, our only option after that is to head west, and go to the waste lands. It is forbidden to go there." she whispered, pushing her mouth to the side, she was willing to break all the rules now.

"ooh, forbidden. I like forbidden, usually the cool stuff is there."

Then he stopped. "Wait, what about my bag?"

Suddenly the shadows came to life, and guards came from no where.

"Damn!" he shouted, his hands curling into fists.

Xelera dodged a spear that pierced the wall behind her side, she let out out a small breath of relief, glancing at Lucia and then around. She looked at the window behind her. It was a long jump, but once they were down, all they would have to be worried about was archers. It'd be enough time to get the waste lands before the cats were released.

"out the window, go go go!!!" Lucia kicked one aside, and rushed, jumping out the window.

Xelera nodded, and then jumped out of the window as well. The drop was a bit further than she thought, and she hit the ground hard. She groaned out as she stood back up and ran towards the trees for cover from the archers.

Lucia was right beside her. Once in the trees they didn't stop, pushign father and farther into the woods.

"THis is bad. One Jet might be coming after us with those cats, AND they hav my bag. If they for some reason figure out how to use the beacon..." He trialed off.

"Is anyone in your race very... technological?"

She shook her head as they ran, "We have 3 minutes before Jet could release the cats." She frowned about the bag, "technology is not the elven way, but you are right...we really shouldn't leave it behind. What do you suggest we do?" she asked, starting to pant.

"We have to go back. Not now, but we can't let... I can't let a race that has no understanding for the Beacon posses it for very long. It's way to risky."

Somtrhing in his voice said it was a very serious matter.

Lets just get away first and come up with a plan to get your bag back later.." she said, sliding to a stop as they both almost ran over a cliff. Xelera frowned, looking down at the wastes, sun did not shine on the wastes there was too much fog, and the tree's were all dead.
