He chuckled. "And here I thought you had no sense of-"
He suddenly stopped, his eyes darting around. "Do you hear that?" he whispered. It didn't matter. Suddenly 3 smallish looking... things jumped out at them from the edge of the clearing. THey were short, maybe three foot high, covered in leaves and weilding sharp pointy rocks.
"Crap, move it!" he shouted, jumping to his feet and running back, not taking his eyes off the creatures.

Xelera jumped up, grabbing her spear. She looked at the three creatures, raising a brow. "Do you think their friendly?" she asked, holding the spear defensively, her eyes not leaving the creatures either.
One of them chucked a sharp rock at Lucia with amazing speed and strength. Lucia in turn dodge, growling a little. "I think not." His fists curled at his side and he was silent for a moment. His eyes darted to the fire, which was between the creatures and them.
Xelera lunged forward with the spear, trying to scare off and make the creatures back up. Her eyes became cold, and she pointed the spear at them. "Leave now, and your lives will be spared." she said coldly.
They screeched at her, nothing but noise coming out as they threw more sharp stones, this time at her. One in the back didn't rush them though. It was jumping up and down, shouting and waving a very familiar looking dagger. "I don't think they speak Common..." Lucia said.
Xelera dodged the rocks and then her eyes widened as she saw the dagger. "You little thieves!" she shouted, lunging forward at the creature in the back, her hand reaching for her dagger.
The creature jumped, slashing down on her hand. Then a flying torch hit the creature in the chest. Lucia picked up another torch and ran after the beasts. They screeched and fled, the one dropping the dagger.
Xelera cursed as the creature sliced her hand, wincing slightly as she grabbed her dagger as they ran off with Lucia hot on their trail. She stood from the ground, examining the dagger. It was definitely hers, though it looked like it hadn't been cared for properly.
Lucia came back, grumbling to himself. "Stinking little devils. DOn't know who they're messing with..." He looked up and saw Xelera's hand, and quickly ran over to her, taking her hand. "That's not good... here." He ripped a small part of his coat and wrapped the faberic around her hand. "It's not much, but it's better than nothing..." He glanced at the dagger. "That yours?"
She blinked as he wrapped her hand, turning her face away in embarrassment. When he was done she pulled her hand away, "It's fine...just a scratch..and yea, this is my dagger." she said, holding it up.
"Just a scratch my ass. You got blood on the ground." Lucia shrugged and looked back out in the forest. "I don't know about you, but I really want to get out of here. We need to figure out that rune fast."
She was a bit confused about his concern over her, she was nothing to him so why was he worrying? She picked up one of the torches, "Actually, while you were sleeping I had an idea.." she said, "Wind was the element you said we would have a problem with...well..we can make wind." she said, glancing up at him. She parted her lips and blew. "It's worth a shot right?" she asked.
Lucia blinked at her and tilted his head. THen he smiled. "Sometimes the most obvious answer is the correct one. LEt's try it." He bent down, picking up another torch, as well as scooping some water with a little leaf cup.
THey headed back to the spot where the ruens were, and he set the torch in one cirle, and the water in another.
"Just earth and wind left..."

Xelera knelt down and scooped up the dirt in her hand, "When I put the dirt in the circle, I want you to blow air into the final circle, at the same time alright?" she asked, walking over to the other circle and holding her hand full of dirt over it. "Ready?"
Lucia nodded. He leaned down, and as she dropped the dirt, he blew into teh circle.
THere was that loud cracking noise again, and the sound of shattering glass. He stood up and looked around.
"I... guess that worked? Let's go and see if we can't find the barrier."

Xelera grinned, and nodded, grabbing the torch from one of the circles. She looked around and then glanced at Lucia, "Which way do you want to go?" she asked, not really sure herself, but Lucia seemed to have a good sense of direction.
Lucia pointed in one direction. "That way. I haven't scouted over there yet."
AS they set out Lucia checked the make shift bandage real quick, then left her alone for a bit.

Xelera blushed slightly as he checked the bandage, "It's fine..really.." she said softly, looking away.
She followed them as they walked, glancing around for any sign of a broken barrier, she hoped it was broken anyways.

Soon they came across a break in the ground. It was like a deep chasm suddenly cut into the earth, about four foot wide and going for as long as they could see to the sides. On the other side, there was what looked like flatlands, grassy fields, and very few trees.
"Well... this is interesting..." He said, looking down in the chasm.

Xelera looked down the chasm as well, "Think you can jump it?" she asked, checking out the other side, the some of the ground did not look sturdy at all, and could collapse should they land on it.
