I mostly use Skype to talk to my buddies most of the times on my laptop. Skype on mobile can be a pain for me.
I roleplay a lot on skype. The only real downside is that mobile updates when it feels like it and crashes a lot, and the program itself - on any platform - is bloated and runs poorly. Today it was crashed out for most of the day. I have friends who can barely get it to work, often. So keep in mind that it's buggy and sometimes plain awful. Otherwise, hey, go for it.

skype always hates the world, that crash today pissed me off greatly.. I use it when I am on Trove to talk to my friends via voice chat.
I have used skype for rp but, then I discovered this site. So skype is used for teamspeak now or just chatting with friends. I don't mind using it for RP tho.

I love rping on Skype, it's fast. But, I prefer anything really.
