Katherine lay in her bed, her room was rather dark for who most people would consider a perky girl. The room isn't exactly black, but has a lot of dark browns around the room. In fact almost 90% of the room was brown, it was just the way she liked it too. She lay unmoving, staring at the the ceiling, Katherine didn't move until Randell, her butler, came to dress her. She figured she had sold her soul, for a goal that wouldn't be achieved for a while, why not make it use full in the mean time. Katherine knew Randell probably wasn't going to come for a while, since it was still dark outside and she had awoken early.
The young Opal Earl had not been sleeping well these past few weeks, her dreams haunted by returning memories of her experience. Most nights all she remembered was darkness, but it still bothered her because of what she heard. Katherine could hear the conversations that her kidnappers had around her. Talking about her like she was an animal, a test subject. She shuddered at the thought of what they may have done to her, her bed was the only place she could be vulnerable. In public she hid her sleep-deprivation and fear well, but at night not so much.

Katherine lay in her bed, her room was rather dark for who most people would consider a perky girl. The room isn't exactly black, but has a lot of dark browns around the room. In fact almost 90% of the room was brown, it was just the way she liked it too. She lay unmoving, staring at the the ceiling, Katherine didn't move until Randell, her butler, came to dress her. She figured she had sold her soul, for a goal that wouldn't be achieved for a while, why not make it use full in the mean time. Katherine knew Randell probably wasn't going to come for a while, since it was still dark outside and she had awoken early.

A sigh of what seemed to be contentedness passed through the demonic butler's lips as he prepared himself for the day. Just like he always did during the wee hours of the morning. He slid his gloves on last before exiting his room and heading to the other servant's quarters, scolding each servant until they all at once awoke with a groan of displeasure.
Afterward, the butler strides down a hall and into the spacious kitchen of the mansion. He glances out the window as he retrieves ingredients to prepare breakfast for his young mistress. He then continues on with preparing, placing a formed lump of dough onto a pan before placing it into the oven. He then composes a pot of his mistress' favorite flavor of tea.
Once the dough in the oven had finished baking, Randell removed it from the space to reveal a perfectly formed croissant. He rests it upon a plate and dresses it up, placing a Lu Petit Déjeuner beside it before pouring a cup of tea and resting it upon the tray as well. He then exits the kitchen and strolls his way up the stairs and toward his mistress' bedroom. Randell raps his knuckles against the door gently, awaiting the signal of 'come in' from the girl before he stepped into the room and closed the door behind him,"Good morning, young mistress. I do hope you slept soundly," the male greets in his usual calm tone as he places the tray of food atop a dresser to enable him to retrieve her attire for the day.

Katherine turned her head toward her demon butler, slightly, as she sat up. "I slept as soundly as usual" She said, calmly, showing no emotion on her face. Though her voice reflected her tiredness slightly. She watched as Randell performed as he normally does, getting her clothing ready for the day as her food cooled. It was a bit different, from life with her parents. Back then it would be her maid who would come in and take care of her, the butlers always took care of her parents, the Earls. Every morning it would dawn on her that she was the new Earl, leaving her in a brief moment of realization before the cloud settled over her mind again.
Katherine slowly swung her legs over the side of her bed, so if she scooted forward her feet would be touching the dark hard wood floors in her room. Her nightgown was actually rather short, only coming down to about halfway through her thigh. It was another thing that was different, she didn't have to wear long nightgowns any more. There was no one in the house to possibly see her in decent. Well other than Randell but he was a Demon, nothing would happen, and the other servants weren't ever going to dress her. So she needn't worry.
Katherine slowly swung her legs over the side of her bed, so if she scooted forward her feet would be touching the dark hard wood floors in her room. He lifts the nightgown up over her head with both ease and gentleness before wrapping a corset around her and turning her around ever so slightly to tighten the laces in the back.
He pulls a dress over her head and then slides her socks over her feet, shoes placed and buckled on next. Randell the straightens back up and takes hold of a hairbrush sitting at the edge of a vanity,"Now, Mistress. Today you have a meeting with Lord Moulin at ten o' clock. At eleven, your midday meal will be served. Then, at noon, you have dance classes. Afterwards, at two, you will be attending your mentoring for learning various instruments," he utters and pauses,"And finally on your schedule, at six, your betrothed will be visiting to join you at dinner."

Katherine stayed silent, and allowed him to dress her. Though when he mentioned her betrothed she couldn't help but roll her eyes. There was once a time when she was perfectly happy having a betrothed, but now -for all she knew- he could've been one of the ones who kidnapped her. After all, he was at that party. Once she is fully dressed, Katherine stands up, with the slight elegance she had always had, as a noble. And turned to Randell, "I will be in the library, notify me when Lord Moulin arrives." She told him, before swiftly walking past him, ignoring the breakfast.
The Library, despite being where her parents died, had always been Katherine's favorite room in the estate. Full of books, and lounging areas. It was also one of the darkest rooms ironically, only having a few lamps near each chair. She hated business meetings as well, so she had hoped that Randell wouldn't be able to find her in the huge library. Though she knew he would be able to, he was a demon butler after all. It seemed a bit strange to her that a demon would accept her deal, to bow down to a 14 year old girl who's out for revenge. But she just assumed it was because of her soul, and always brushed the thought out of her mind.

Katherine never payed attention at the meetings, she figured someone would know. It was a pain having to run the company, but she did it any way. After all, it was her fathers business, she couldn't sell it.
There was once a time when Katherine loved the business, and she would go on business trips with the previous Earl. She loved going around sampling the companies food, and the employees loved her as well. Though after her experience she couldn't trust anyone, so her relationship with the employees, and the company faded away. Now she was just the 14 year old female CEO and Owner of the Opal Families Company.

Randell gives a nod and pushes the door open farther to allow her to walk past him,"Of course, milady," he responds with a face that showed no emotion. He sighs and glances down toward the young girl,"Oh dear..." he mumbles,"Lord Moulin will be visiting to request to own part of your family's business, I do believe," he informs and clasps his gloved hands together behind his back.
Randell's eye flicker toward the staircase as a knock resounded from the large wooden doors,"Ah, that must be him," he states and steps down the stairs at a rather quick pace, at the door in no time. He pulls it ajar and feigns a smile toward the male,"Good morning, Lord Moulin. I do hope your trip here was safe. My mistress is in her study, and I will take you to her," he greets and leads the man up the stairs, knocking on the wood of the study's doorway to signal his and the Lord's arrival. Katherine sits down at her desk, which is almost directly across the room from the door, just before Randell knocks. "Come in" She calls, allowing Randell to enter, followed by Lord Moulin. So this is the man who wants to buy my company She thinks, staring at him. She stands up slowly, and motions to the chair in front of her, putting on a smile. "Please sit down" She says, tilting her head a bit. The public still sees her as she used to be, so she has to act like it at least for now.
Still smiling, she sits back down and clasps her hands. "So, Lord Moulin," She begins, "How have you been? It's been years since I first met you with my father." She smiles, making small talk. As he answers he prepares herself to answer his inevitable question of 'And you?' or something like it. After his brief response she hears him ask her how she was, after the accident and all. "I'm perfectly fine Lord Moulin" She says, "I've adjusted well, anyway, back to business." She says her smile slowly disappearing. "What is it your here to discuss?"
Obviously she already knows, but Katherine needs to hear it from the Lord himself. "Well, you see Madame," He begins, "your awfully young to be running a company of this size-" He begins, trying to make it sound like he wasn't trying to take advantage of the Opal family's situation, though Katherine can tell. "Earl Phantomhive is doing it just fine in England" she interrupts him, "Why can't I, because I'm a girl?" She asks, backing him into a corner, her smile now gone. She has chosen now to give up the whole facade of being like she used too. "No! That's not what I meant at all! I only meant I'm worried because your so young, and I would love to take some of the companies...assets off your hands" He says, still trying to be smooth. Katherine is now glaring at the Lord. "I'm sorry sir," She says standing up, slamming her hands into the desk. "None of the Opal Restaurants or 'assets' are for sale" She says, before turning to Randell. "This meeting is over, please take care of our guest." She orders.

Randell watches the Lord carefully as they seat themselves in front of his mistress' desk. The demon takes his place behind the young girl, still warily eyeing the male. If the Lord were to make any advances of harm toward her, he would strike.
He listens to their conversation with an unfaltering blank expression, though, his eyes showed his emotion of absolute hilarity. A soft, but still ever so slightly perceivable suppressed noise rumbles from the demon's chest, which he swiftly counters with another unemotional look on his features as the young mistress backs the man into a corner he most likely couldn't get out of with even the best luck due to his mistress' cleverness.

I will ensure you are completely taken care of."

Katherine smiles at Randell, "Thank you" She says, suddenly polite again before returning to her desk. "Before you go," She stopped him, "I'll be in here until my classes at noon, please bring my midday meal to me here." She smiled, sitting down and returning to work. She couldn't believe yet another business partner had come to take her company from her. Katherine had only been back one year and still she had had so many people approach her about, 'helping' with her company. She had learned a lot from her father, especially since he knew she would be his only child. Her mother was unable to bear children, that's why they adopted. Both of her parents had wanted children, and they needed a heir for the family business. Most of her extended family, and business investors would have preferred they adopted a boy, but they fell in love with Katherine. And she fell in love with them.
Randell returns her smile affably and nods in response,"Of course, young mistress," he replies and pulls the door ajar, but ceases as she speaks up once more,"Yes, milady. I will do just that," he states and glances back toward the girl before exiting the study, followed by the other man.
The demon butler gives a wide smirk and turns his head toward the Lord,"Well, Lord Moulin, in the Opal mansion, we do not take kindly to the people that my mistress refuses. And, I am required to care for you, therefore; if you would just follow after me this way..." he utters and leads the male away. It wasn't long afterward that the Lord was heard of no more. It was merely the hospitality Randell offered to every Lord and Lady who was not accepted by his mistress. The Police Force never even suspected any one of the manor due to the reputation of it.

After he had finished with his order, Randell began to clean the manor until it was time for the midday meal to be prepared. It was then that he checked his pocket watch and traveled to the kitchen. He sighs and begins to prepare the food. Once finished, the dish consisted of veal and lightly steamed vegetables on the side.
Randell places a teacup and teapot upon a tray, followed by the plate of food. He lifts the platter and returns to his mistress' study, rapping his knuckles upon the wood as he pushes it open,"Mistress, your midday meal has been prepared," he announces in his calm tone and places the tray upon her desk, pouring tea into the cup,"I do hope it is to your liking."
"Thank you Randell" Katherine said, and began cutting the veal. "Was our guest taken care of?" She asks as she begins eating the meal. At first Randell wasn't the best chef but now he was rather great. The food was always excellent, and the service great as well. Katherine often thought making the deal with Randell was best thing she'd done. She didn't care if her soul was doomed, Katherine didn't know what she would do with it after getting her revenge anyway.
Randell gives a small smile and nods,"But of course, mistress," he responds and places a hand upon his chest, followed by a light chuckle erupting from his throat,"Yes, milady. He was taken care of with the most utter hospitality," he states, though his face showed no emotion anymore, but his tone was practically dripping with a smirk.
Of course, a demon butler wouldn't be too amazing at preparing human foods during the beginning, but Randell learned rather quickly on what his mistress' least favorite and favorite foods were, along with how she liked them cooked,"Now then, shall I take my leave and return when dance classes are scheduled, milady?"

"Yes Randell." Katherine said dismissing him, she slowly ate her midday meal as the hour went by, though soon finished it. The meal was wonderfully made and tasted amazing. She was awed by how fast Randell learnt how to cook, especially since was a Demon and didn't need to eat.
