"Welcome to Peachy Springs. A cozy little town you'll never want to leave."

I am looking for people interested in playing original characters in an original setting. Peachy Springs is an eerie, cryptic town, that time forgot. It hosts many strange and preternatural events, though the denizens might not consider them as such.

The setting is an 1930's-50's-ish American town. Your character, however, can be from any time period, as visiting the town involves some space-time shenanigans. Be forewarned: there is an IC Anachronism Agency that hunts down anyone or anything terribly out of place. Your character will need to quickly adapt, or face consequences. Modern or futuristic technology will not work in Peachy Springs, and will be regarded as contraband.

While "magic" exists in Peachy Springs, it tends not to be flashy. Fireballs, force-strangles, and laser-eyes are not the soup du jour, while spoon-bending, fortune-telling, ant-headed soda jerks, and psychic cow-tipping are relatively common.

At this point, there are basically two roles I am looking for: disoriented newcomers, and citizens. Generally, I'm looking for human characters, but if you have an idea for something else, pitch it to me, either here or in private messages.

I'd also like players and characters to be 18+. While there will be no R-rated material or sexual content, there may be mature themes, bad language, terrible innuendo, violence involving taxidermy animals, and so forth.

If you're looking for some fun, surreal, weird, darkly humorous role-play, with a lot of room for innovation but a clear and distinct setting, post a quick character pitch! I hope to hear from you soon.

I read your character sheet, and Lilah looks like she would be a good fit. She's a bit young, but if you agree to refrain from some adult situations (sexual/romantic themes, extreme gore) it should be fine. I don't expect the game to revolve much around these themes, as I want it to be a safe environment for players.

Is this a one-on-one RP, where it's one character against the town, or will everyone who's here be a part of it?

It would be multiplayer, with opportunities for one-on-one scenes.

I'm interested in this... Draken -T- is quite an oddball himself with his pale skin. See if he's acceptable. He's a Thaumaturge, but that shouldn't be too bad should it...? Right...?

It's a bit high fantasy/epic, which might not quite fit. There is some magic/occult here, but it tends to be things like spoon bending, fortune telling, frogs that are overly menacing, death-defying stunts.

I'm sorry it's taken me a while to get back. I'm trying to think about whether mermaids would be thematic. In the classic sense, I'm not sure, but more "freakshow" mermaids, possibly. Would you want to have her retain her backstory, or create a new one?

Here I am again! Suggesting another character! (which I doubt will get accepted due to him being a more "Shadowrun" oriented character, but hey! what if..? (plus I really like the idea of this RP...))

Hey, so Danwin directed me here, And I'm interested. I have an as of yet uncreated character who is an agent of the SCP Foundation. They're basically all about containing weirdness like the stuff in this town, so I think he'd make an interesting addition to the story.
