"Indeed it is! My heart goes to those that are feeling lonely this evening, to be honest," Ferric replied, losing the merriment in his tone for a brief moment. With a sigh, he had lifted his pint, glanced to Scylla with a small smile, and then took a good couple of swigs.
"Though don't let me dampen any spirits now. Not when the night is almost over," Ferric softly said, a soft and warm smile returning to his face.

Reman grinned. "Oh no, it's no problem," he replied. "I still got a couple people in here tonight, so I can't say this Halloween was completely wasted. Besides, if my customers are happy, I'm happy too."
"That's the spirit!" chimes in Scylla, who had fallen silent to watch the newcomer and take in some banter. "With an attitude like that, I'm sure business will pick up in here in no time."
Seeing the first rays of the sun beginning to lighten the street through the windows, she eased herself out of her seat and onto her awkward webbed feet. "It's been a perfect way to while an evening, but I'm afraid I'm about to turn into a pumpkin. Hope to see you gents again soon," she said with a wink and a wave, and with that, headed toward the door.

Ferric chuckled again.
"Still, it pains me whenever I accidentally say something depressing. I never mean to be a downer on the whole of the holiday," Ferric said. He had glanced over to Scylla as she spoke. The elven man kept a smile upon his face and then ran a hand through his hair.
"And yes... I must agree with the lovely... Scylla, was it? Your attitude concerning your tavern is quite admirable. A love of your customers' happiness is always one of the more important things to having a warm and welcome tavern." Ferric added his own two cents to the statement and then downed the rest of his cider. Taking out a few more silver, and a couple gold pieces, he had left them on the bar top.
"Well... day breaks before us.... Perhaps it would be best for me to return to my abode. I wouldn't want my family to worry about me," Ferric stated, standing up and offering a smile in Reman's direction. "Thanks for the wonderful conversation. Perhaps I can come back some night in the future, Mr. Reman Longtail. It has been a pleasure."
Straightening his cloak, Ferric started for the exit so that he could return to where he called 'home'.

Reman blinked and rubbed his eyes as a few stray rays of sunlight began to peek through the tavern's windows. Had he really been up all night? It certainly hadn't felt like it.
"Indeed," the canine said to Scylla as she started to rise to her feet. "Running this tavern isn't easy. But sometimes it's worth it, especially on nights like this one.
"Don't forget to grab some candy from the basket before you go," Reman added to Ferric, gesturing towards a basket full of chocolates and candies that was placed off to one side of the bar. "Thank you both for coming. Hopefully I'll see you again sometime soon. Have a Happy Halloween!"
The canine watched as Scylla and Ferric slipped out the door into the first light of morning. Once they were both safely on their way, Reman climbed up the stairs to his quarters and flopped right down on his bed without even bothering to take off his Anubis costume. Within minutes, he was fast asleep, feeling quite satisfied with how this Halloween night had gone.
