He was taken aback.
"I didn't mean to offend you-...."
"Fine."
"Go ahead and do what you want i'll have no part in this anymore."
"I'll fight the big pig myself, and get all the shards."
He stormed off in the direction of the urban city.

"Edward, wait." Yandela huffs. "Just stop acting like a know it all. We can only take so much."

"Well if you do go bring me back a keychain," he said to Edward, giggling. Edward needed to lighten up in his opinion. The man took things way too seriously. "Well he's right to some degree Yan. I think we should all get some rest."

He stopped and turned back towards her.

"I'm afraid i can't help it."
"It's who i am."
"If you can't handle it, then perhaps we aren't suitable for each other."

He turned back towards the city to hide his clear dismay.

"See you."

"Makes it sound like I was the one pursuing him," she snorts. She glances at Mars. "I... Yeah. We should rest..."

"Don't worry about it, Yan. He's just a drama queen he'll get over it." Mars said "better not forget my keychain.." He added quietly. "Well, I suppose this is as good a place as any to sleep," Mars shrugged and stuffed the compass in his pocket. Then sat on the grown.

As soon as he had gone out of sight, he began to slow his pace and enter the world of deep thoughts.
Was he really going to fight the 'big pig' all by himself?
"They're all pathetic."
'The only person i need is myself..."

A flash back hit him. All those days running from pursers on strange planets.
Being a Time Lord was difficult.
Being the last Time Lord was hell.

He scoffed.

"I'll get that shard."
"And once i have it, i'll leave this place."

He looked up.

The path to the urban city was becoming shorter and shorter.

He had kept silent all this time. A fatal flaw in his meticulous calculations. A small bit of childish banter should not have set them off like dynamite.

"How fickle, species against species alike. Looks like there truly is no salvation for our twisted kind at this rate."

He picked up his sword and grunted.

"Well looks like we have to save this stubborn mule. Get up you stupid ingrates."

As Edward approached the city he began to see the 'dome'-like robots Scolopendra spoke about earlier.

They looked formidable.

Stupidly he strolled into the city head on and was caught by a robot.
Rather than attacking, it began to scan him.
From the eyes of the machine protruded a long orange scanning ray.
The ray began from the bottom, slowly moving it's way up until it stopped at the location of his twin hearts.
Edward withdrew his sword.

In a blind fury he sliced off the head of the robot.
Circuits with strange bits of liquid were displayed.
The last visual recording of the machine was that of an enraged Time Lord.
He crushed the head with his right foot.

Gripping his mechanical sword more tightly, he made his way into the city.

"Uh, I don't think a lover's quarrel is a sign of an ever degrading race," Mars sighed and stood back up . "Man, as soon as I sat down too."

"Who made you feel boss?" Yandela's eyes narrow. "I'm not doing anything you say."

Piles upon piles of robot heads were mounted on top of each other.

Edward gasped heavily. He had been beaten to a pulp.
He wiped the blood onto his specially tailored black overcoat.
Three more robots arrived at the scene.

As he struck his sword, the words of the woman played liked a broken record.
'You're as clueless as the rest of us'....
'All you do is flirt and threaten to blow up the world'...

He let out a cry of anger

"You're all so pathetic!"

In such incredible speed, he wedged his sword into the neck of a robot. The other two took this opportunity to deliver fatal blows to his back.

Why should he have to live?, all the other Time Lords were dead. What separates him from the others?.
He wasn't even a good person.

Without realizing it, he had sliced the heads of all the robots.
Gasping for air, he loosened his tie and crumbled down next to the pile of robotic heads.

He yawned.

"Frankly I could care less whether or not you would listen, but dear Edward will die from those creatures... I really cant have that happen. What were they called again? Oh yeah, I saw their name somewhere before...I believe these dome shaped machines are dubbed as 'Daleks'."

His eyes shine dangerously.

"He needs us. He needs you."

"...you're not as sly as you think in your manipulations..." Yandela mutters. "However... You're right. But I'm helpless right now and Mars is just... Well... Mars." She glances at him. "No offense."

As he sat beside the pile of wrecked robot bodies in a near death state, he thought to himself.

Perhaps it would be time to give it all up.
Three hundred years of pain and suffering is enough.
He had planned it out.
The Tardis would automatically select Scolopendra to be it's next pilot as he interacted with it previously.

He uttered a word.
"So..."
"It's settled then."
"This is where i die."
"A humorous situation."

Though it pained him, he couldn't help but laugh.
The pain caused him to tilt his head slightly upwards.
And then he saw it.
Blue and red, mixed with traces of yellow.

It was a Shard.

He laughed.

"Absolutely perfect."

His eyes faded to black.

"Oh none taken," Mars waived off. He had no idea how he could help fight off a league of...robots? Daleks? He already forgotten honestly. But he certainly wasn't staying here by himself to get eaten by some kind of alternate demensional bear.

He laughed. No matter what she said, she still would have to aid the Time Lord.

"Knowing him and his bouts of emotion, he is probably thinking of how he will spend the last moments of his life. Now let's get going. Of course, you can stay behind Mars if you don't wish to come."

Scolopendra added not so quietly,

"Its not as if he is anything important to you."

With that said he went in the direction of the city Civitas. Learning how these instruments worked will have to wait.

Another wrench in his plans, he thought grimly.

"I could say the same for you, couldn't I?" Mars replied. "Besides, there's no way I'm staying here By myself. What if I run into something frightening like predators, or robot builders," Mars followed behind Scolopendra at a languid like pace. "Then what?" he finished

Yandela follows behind, lost in her thoughts.

Deep underground Xianto looked around at the fruits of his labour, masses of his normal robots swarmed the place, consistently upgrading and building new ones. While around him nine other hims stood all of them silently standing there just like him. Opposite were his other friends all of them kitted out in different battle armours as well as one in the middle who stood in shimmering armour. His emperor, Xiantos whish had been fulfilled. He had resurrected the people that mattered most to him and made sure he could survive most situations. Then he sent one version of himself to the surface to scout for people.
