Mars gave a breathy kind of laugh. He slid down to a sit on one of the nearby walls. He was pretty tired himself. He wasn't out of shape by any means, but he wasn't the hyper-athletic type either. Running for your life from killer robots took more energy than you'd think. "I'll be right there with you, Yan." He said after reclaiming an acceptable amount of air in his lungs.
Yandela hunkers down in a hidden corner, her eyes slipping closed without her conscious consent. "Mm... Tired..."
He sat behind a barrel with Edward leaned against the wall of a building. The sounds were getting closer, and he was not in a position to continue fleeing. Realizing how limited his options were, he opens the barrel and delicately places Ed into it. Slipping the shard in his pocket along with a strip of paper, he recaps the lid onto the barrel and kicks it down the alleyway. Hopefully it'll travel far enough, but it will have to do in these dire circumstances. Feeling very tired, he smiled as a Dalek that had emerged unscathed from the robo war came upon him.
"I bet everybody is thinking of different ways to kill me right now. Fortunately they will get the chance to try and do so later. Toodles for now, friends."
Then he was gone.

The barrel rolled through the rough and coarse alleyway. Within it, was Edward still lying unconscious. Though his reason for not awakening was not due to the ridiculous idea of challenging the robots head on, but due to the fact that his body had sustained a critical amount of damage and In order to prevent regeneration from occurring, he had preserved his mind in a deep slumber.
Had this been any other Time Lord, the regeneration process would have already started. The power inside the individual would be enough to flatten the city due to the destructive power contained within the Time Lord DNA.
Inside the mind of Edward Hudacious was once again the harsh memory of his rite of passage. The endless nights running through building from building because of the tiny little atoms within his body that made him one of them.
A Time Lord.
The barrel continued to roll through the alley with an increase of it's immense speed. It wasn't until a severed robot head appeared in the direction of the barrel did it come to a halt.
Next to the barrel was non other than the building Mars and Yandela took refuge in.
There was silence.

Mars quietly, as not to disturb Yandela, went and barred some of the exits. Just has he was about to lay a rather thick board over the window they'd come in a barrel rolled in front of it. Curiously he climbed out of the window and righted it. It was heavy as all outdoors. He took off the top and peered inside. Mars sighed exasperatedly "Of course,".With some effort he managed to throw the time lord unceremoniously through the window. Afterwards,he climbed in himself. He set about his previous tasks. Once everything was said and done, he passed out tiredly. Nuzzled into a blanket he'd found.
Xianto smiled as his machines poured into the city, a seemingly unending stream of them. As they continued to push through the streets his machines were scrapping any destroyed enemy robots moving them away. Leading his forces were his clones, each of them wielding their gattling gun on one arm and a blade made of the same metal that had been used in the projectiles earlier.
One marched down the same alley that the building the others were hiding in was situated. Following him was a swarm of his machines. He heard movement inside one of the buildings. He immediately moved towards it alongside a squad of other machines while the rest poured past. Looking inside he saw the three. "what the hell are you people doing in a warzone?"

Mars eyes snapped open immediately and he glared at the intruder. He had slight bags under his eyes. "I was sleeping, until you interrupted." He croaked angrily rubbing his eyes. "I didn't to get woken up unless a robot was trying to vaporize me." He grumped throwing the blanket off.
Yandela sleeps on, her magic slowly regenerating within her core.
Edward continued running, across the never-ending mountains of Arcadia he went.
Through the vast seas of the ocean, climbing the highest points of the shadow proclamation. Would the chase ever stop?
Within an instant, he awoke.
It took him a few minutes to familiarize himself with his surroundings.
He tilted his head slightly forward and was able to notice three figures.
One outside the building, another inside and another sleeping.
The peculiar sight confused him.
He spoke.
"Is this death?"

Mars snorted wrapping the blanket back around himself. "Not even close, sleepy beauty," he said getting comfortable again. It was in vain, he knew, he wasn't going to be able to sleep after this.
He blinked.
Placing his hands on his chest he could feel the heartbeat of both his hearts.
"I'm alive..."
The memories of his original plan came rushing back like a forceful stream.
He had attempted to defeat every robot in the city or die trying.
Why or how he was alive was a mystery to him.
Placing one hand on the ground for support, he rose to his position on his two feet.
A Time Lord should never be on the ground.
Upon closer inspection, the figures within the room began to seem more familiar.
"Oh..."
The two individuals lying on the ground were non other than Mars and Yandela.
He guessed that they had most likely come to his aid despite his wishes.
Edward began to search the room for Scolopendra.
He was nowhere to be found.
While trying to find his sword, he took a step forward and was met with the excruciating pain that his body had struggled to isolate him from.
"Crap. I feel as though every bone in my body is broken."
He looked at Mars and laughed
"As ridiculous as it sounds, you have no idea how relieved i am to see that smug puerile face of yours."

Mars gave genial grin "Well, I guess I could admit to it being nice to see any familiar face. Rather than laser-toting robots." He replied. "Yan will be relieved. You might have broken some bones while you were rolling around in that barrel," he added casually
He smiled. "What do you mean she'll be relieved?, i thought her feelings towards me were clear. She clearly prefers you."
He limped over to Mars.
"It's absolutely fine though, i'm starting to see things in a new light."
He offered the young man a genuine handshake.
"Allies?"
He limped over to Mars.

"For someone supposedly so smart, you're rather dull aren't you?" Mars asked rhetorically, tilting his head. "Yan, to me, seems like she's is the independent type. She doesn't want or need you to tell her what to do and when to do it. That doesn't mean she wants to see your untimely death, though. She was pretty worried when we had to leave you with...um that eye-patch guy." he said shaking his head.
He was a bit surprised at the man's gesture. But it was, whatever. Hopefully this meant the man wouldn't act so stuck-up anymore. "Sure, I don't see why not," he said taking the man's hand and shaking it.

Xiano or one of his clones. It would be impossible to tell continued to state in at them. "I will repeat my question. What are you three doing in a war zone? None of you look in the shape to defend yourselves or each other. Leave it to me and my forces and also why are you sleeping in a war zone? That is foolish beyond belief. You should always be prepared for the enemy."
"Ugh, can't you see we're trying to have a moment of mutual respect?" Mars said snapping his head around to face the man.
"We're here cause some guy, I won't mention any names, ran here with no allies. And there isn't much use in being ready for your enemy if your too exhausted to fight, now is there?"

"Blame Eyepatch Man," Yandela mutters irritably, having been awoken by Mars' and Edward's psychoanalization of her. She has no qualms with releasing who brought them there.
Edward turned to face the strange looking robot-man.
"So you're the one who's been causing all the commotion?, i don't believe we've formally met." He looked at the robots flying behind the man, though it was nothing special, the fact he was able to create so many in such a short time was rather...interesting.
"I should mention that the enemy robots in this city are not Daleks. These are merely Dalek scout bots. Had these been an actual Dalek army within the city we'd all be obliterated."
He then turned to Yandela to utter a word of apology but stopped.
"So Mars?, what's the next step."

" I see. " Trying to avoid her gaze, he limped to the other side of the room and crumbled down on the floor.
This was a difficult position. He had no Tardis, no energy and definitely no confidence.
Any other Time Lord would have sorted this situation out, he was hardly the deadly soldier that he thought he was.
He sat with his back against the wall.
"One whole month is all it takes....then i'll be out of here."
