"Looks like everyone's heading out then," Mars commented, flicking the compass back closed and putting it back in his pocket.

"I suppose so," Yandela murmurs, sighing.

Edward returned to the location where the Tardis was parked by Scolopendra. He unlocked the doors with his exquisite key and stepped inside. Entering his home, he closed the doors behind him and touched the console.
A breath of relief was released. "Silence... at last."
The Interior was dark. There was hardly enough power to even turn on the lights. He walked towards the interior door and pushed it open. It displayed a long dark corridor which Edward then walked through.
The Tardis V.I appeared beside him in the form of a woman.
They both walked down the long endless corridor.
"V.I, status report."
'Atron levels at 5%, Huon levels at 3%. If i may say so sir, refueling is impossible due to the large amount of interference within the planet's atmosphere.' He nodded. "I see, ready the chameleon circuit interface. I'm going to exchange one of my regenerations for huon energy."
'Is that wise sir?',
Edward nodded once more "There is no alternative."
The V.I was silent.
"Set it up in the lab, i need to rest for a little then prepare for the transfer." They came to a halt in front of a large black wooden door.
'Good luck sir,' She walked off into the distance.
Edward opened the doors to his bedroom which contained a large king sized bed. The room was decorated in all manner of items. He removed his overcoat and threw it on the coat hanger behind the door then rolled up his sleeves to reveal his muscular arms.
He was going to give up one of his regenerations to refuel the Tardis.
Even if it worked, the Tardis still would only be at fifty percent and if the procedure failed all together, not only would he lose a regeneration, but the Tardis would go into overload, and in it's defence.
His brain would be turned into a pile of ash.

"Well, I guess we can get going then too, huh? You're feeling better right?" Mars asked standing up and stretching.

"Yeah," she nods, shifting onto her feet and walking to the door. She pauses to wait for Mars. "Let's go find a crystal. Yay."

V.I appeared inside Edward's room. 'It is ready sir,' Edward rose from his bed and walked across the corridor to his Lab. There, in wait was the bright golden helmet. The Chameleon Arch.
He strapped himself into the chair and placed the helmet on his head.
V.I stood watching. 'Are you comfortable sir?', "As comfortable as can be V.I,
begin the extraction."
The process started gradually, the helmet embedded itself into his head and began draining the regeneration energy within him.
The pain was beginning to display itself. Edward gave a shout of agonizing pain.
V.I watched the spectacle. Bright orange energy flew out of the Time Lord and into the Tardis.
His body shook violently in pain, he was paralyzed.
'The extraction is 90% complete sir, a few more moments.'
A strange foam-looking substance began to pour out of his mouth, it continued for the duration of the extraction until the Tardis lights instantly lit up.
It was complete. The helmet detached itself from the Time Lord, who's body fell on the floor like that of a dead man.
The Tardis was substantially powered but Edward had lost a little more than just one regeneration.

Mars followed Yandela out of the building, keeping an eye out for any rouge robots. "So," he began, retrieving his compass once again. "I guess we can just follow this to the shard," he said shrugging.

A squadron of Xianto's robots around six in total including one flying one moved into sight. "Halt. You are not authorised to leave this building until all enemy machines have been destroyed." It intoned.

"What the heck?" Mars glared at the machines blocking his path "Seriously? What about the other guy who left?"

Yandela cast up a bubble-ish barrier around herself and Mars. "C'mon. We don't have time for this."

"M'kay," Mars agreed, ignoring the small robots. "Looks like it's this way then.." Mars consulted the compass and then lead the way.

The robots aimed at them. "If you do not comply we shall put you back by force."

'Sir?, are you awake?' Edward's eyes opened to display his V.I in front of him.
"I'm fine, did it work?", ' All systems at 50% sir, however we still lack the power to leave this universe.' He smiled." That's fine, " The situation that was taking place down in the city quickly returned to his mind.
"Hmm, i wonder if they were able to leave the place alive."
V.I followed Edward into the console room.
The room was now illuminated with the dark blue colors which represented his Tardis.
"This is what i was talking about!, every system and control is now active."
He piped up the Helmic Regulator, "V.I set the navigational controls to locate any human life forms in the nearest city then lock on to it."
'Complete sir.'
He laughed, "Time to show them my true Time Lord specialty."
Dragging down the handbrake, he flew himself to the city, above the duo as he had before.
He watched from above.

"You can't touch us," Yandela smirks. She grins at Mars, glad to have regenerated enough energy to pull this off easily.

"Plus, were supposed to stay in there for protection, right? So if we leave you're just gonna kill us, what kind of logic is that?" Mars snorted.

The Tardis floated in the air above Mars and Yandela. They hadn't noticed him yet, but he could understand the dynamic of the situation.
"V.I, do you see the robots down there ", he pointed below.
"Disable them."
'Simple circuits sir, '
"The robots began to gradually shut down.
He grinned, he was going to protect the two at all costs.

Yandela blinked as lights dimmed and limbs began hanging. "What's...?"

Edward eyes moved from Yandela to the robots. He was ready to challenge their leader if he made the wrong movements towards the duo.
V.I studied Edward accurately, ' Sir, your eyes seem to be set on the human female below. My scans display a recognition of affection towards her.'
He laughed.
"Shush."

Deep underground the scuffle there was a lot of activities. Robots scurrying back and forth, and armaments of war being prepared.

Even deeper underneath a lone man with an eyepatch and a lame leg was chained to a chair, bounded by his legs and arms.

His eyes open.

The robots looked at each other. "The orders we were given were to make sure these two stayed in the building while the battle was going on. That was the order, we are carrying it out." The robots continued to stare at the man. The sounds of the battle going on behind them continued to rage. Explosions going off in several streets until most of the buildings in those areas were little more than rubble.
