V.I looked at the young master.
'You look exceptionally good sir.
Master Edward and the female exited the Tardis a few moments ago.'

"Let go." The wind begins whipping around them as her emotions heighten. "Just let go! Promises are nothing but empty words and lies."
He couldn't blame her, from the story she had just told. Anyone else would react the same way.
"No."
"I already told you....
I'm in love with you."
Now make yourself visible."
"No."
"I already told you....

"Ok, I think I can find my way then. Thanks Vi," he said nicknaming her. V.I got tiring to say after a while. Mars exited his homemade Detroit and walked the path he'd taken the night before. Eventually he did find the exit. Once out of the Tardis he saw Edward talking to seemingly no one. "Heeey! Ya' finnaly lost the last of your marbles. Ed?" He called waving an arm.
Yandela used the distraction to rip her hands from his, retreating away to duck out of sight and drop the invisibility spell.
The moment he looked towards Mars, Yandela had gone.
"Hmm, you made it just in time."
He analysed the boy from head to toe.
"It's not going to work between me and her.
I'm simply not good enough.
I've tried my best to reassure her in every possible way yet she still doesn't believe me.
It's not her fault, i'm just terrible at things like these."
He walked up towards the boy.
"If you can cheer her up and make her smile again, i'd be happy."
He walked towards the Tardis, stopped midway and returned to Mars.
"Hold on, are you wearing a Time Lord attire?"

Yandela grits her teeth at his words. She seethes. "I've explained that it's not him, dammit. He takes everything so personally..."
"Don't worry about it Eddy, you're only half of the problem." He said placatingly. He stuck up his nose and marched away from the door. "Just as I should be, it was about time for some new blood anyway. Looks like you're not the only time lord around town anymore. I'll have you deference, thank you," He said in an overly pompous voice.
He laughed. "Well let me know when you're ready for your Tardis flight lessons.
And yes, i'm being sarcastic.
The only person touching my beautiful console controls is me. And only me.
Giving the boy slap on the back he inquired about his time in the Tardis.
"Did you sleep well?"

Yandela smiles softly, sadly, at the banter and pulls herself to her feet, beginning to walk away.
Mars grinned "Someday, I'm going to fly that thing. Mark my words." he declared, still in his time-lord persona. He snapped out of it soon though "Yeah, it was cool. I haven't slept in a bed that big in a while." And even then it wasn't very comfortable he thought wryly. He looked all around "So where is Yan, anyway?"
"Well... i told her how i felt about her." The Time Lord took his gaze away from the boy.
"I told her i loved her....
Too soon?"
"I told her i loved her....
Too soon?"
Mars sucked in a sharp breathe "It depends... On your phrasing," Honestly these two were irrevocably hopeless. "It shouldn't be so bad if you just said you were interested you know? But... I don't think that's the case, for some reason." Mars would then look around for any sight of their third. It also depended on Yandela and how she felt about such relationships. He kept that bit to himself, however.
"Mmhmm, i know. Relationships aren't my strong point."
And then it hit him. He had forgotten something crucial.
Earlier on when he was in the console room and was scanning for strange activity in the world, the readings had come up empty.
Or so he thought.
He far too busy admiring Yandela to notice Scolopendra's tracking device coming online.
The worrying thing about the situation was that IF he was correct, Scolopendra was in some serious trouble.
Though he wasn't fully fond of the individual, he did save Edward earlier on. Besides, if it was true that he was threatening to hurt Yandela, it'd be better to find out the reason himself.
"I'm going to go somewhere and i'm taking the Tardis with me.
We can split up. You both follow the map and compass to the next shard."
He tightened his tie.
"Where i'm going, there is an incredibly high chance of me dying. So yeah."
The Time Lord turned back in the direction of his Tardis.
"I'll be seeing you."

The boy watched the one he called 'Patchy', a small smile on his face. "So, what's your problem..? Why don't you stay with the others..? What are you doing..? Know what, I don't care. I want to make a deal with you. I'll give you an army...
If you get rid of these machines!!!"
If you get rid of these machines!!!"
He entered the Tardis, locked the doors and approached the console and sighed.
"Why is she so difficult!"
He sat down on the chair
V.I appeared.
'May I be allowed to speak freely sir?'
"Mmhmm"
'You have absolutely no chance with her.'
V.I had two modes.
Her basic service mode and her free mode.
Despite her actions and statements
She was actually a full sentient creation with a cruel sense of humour.
"Tell me something I don't know."
She tilted her head to the left
"Wait no, I take that back, I'd rather not have your sarcastic comments right now."
The hologram appeared to laugh
'So, Edward.
What's the next step?'
"Go through the searching database to find the eye-patch individual."
V.I displayed a look of disgust.
'He touched the handbrake when he was here.
Had I not intervened and materialised the ship next to you, the TARDIS might have been nothing more than sunken treasure.'
Edward laughed.
"He's been irritating a lot of people today, even our guests."
She began to laugh herself
' Oh please,'
She synchronised her voice to mimic that of Edwards.
'Yandela, I love you.'
"Oh shut up, I didn't say it like that."
'Yes you did.'
"V.I, Search for the eye-patch Man."
'Already done, the coordinates are on the monitor.'
Edward rose up and activated the Gyroscopic stabiliser.
The Tardis entered a state of silence which was followed by the de-materialising sound as he pulled down the space-time throttle.
"V.I pipe up the Helmic regulator to about forty percent."
'Why forty?, it's not as if we're going into a war zone.'
"V.I........."
She set the Helmic regulator to 40%.
'This is why we run out of power quickly.'
The Tardis flew through the Time Vortex in such a rough manner.
'You know Edward, I could take on the form of that young woman and you could practice your kissing ability on me.'
She grinned
"How....just how, have I not disabled you already?"
Her voice returned to the synchronised version of Edwards.
'Because Yandela...I love you.'
The Time Lord began to get irritated.
"Enough!"
He set down the Locking down mechanism.
And placed his hands and the directional pointer.
"A large wave is coming up, let's do this one together V.I"
She nodded.
Time waves were similar to currents on the ocean.
If a Tardis was to get caught inside one and wasn't guided through it successfully, the wave could push them far back within the vortex delaying the transportation process.
Together, they guided the Tardis through the vortex so skilfully and gracefully.
Edward completed the process by dragging down the handbrake.
Initialising the landing process.
They had landed somewhere near Scolopendra.
"Haha!, that was perfect V.I, high five!"
She stared at him with a blank
expression.
"Ok."
He exited the Tardis.

Yandela closed her eyes and focused her energy on searching for the nearest large power source. If she were lucky, maybe it would be a crystal different from the one shown on Mars' map. Unless maybe the next doesn't come into existence until the one before it is nabbed...
Either way, she had found a target of true power to focus on. She set a mental point on the source and let her energies drop. The source pin point stayed clear in her mind, tugging her in the direction she needed to go.

The Time Lord's long black coat trailed on the floor as he walked forward.
He had landed on an elevated terrain.
The scene was almost so perfect.
A silhouetted figure in front of a large black police box.
It was simply magical.
With his hands buried inside his pockets, Edward walked down the hill towards the location that Scolopendra was last marked by the Tardis.

Yandela trekked along, determined to get the shard first. She wasn't sure why she wanted to, still, but she knew that she wanted to.
That feeling ended abruptly when she stepped into ashes and realized exactly what her surroundings were. The town of her childhood met her gaze, and she was standing in the remains of her second home.

With Edward gone and Yandela no where in sight, Mars made his own way to the shard. Thanks to the compass he could navigate the terrain rather easily. It was an extremly boring affair though. He kinda off wished something would attack or something, just to have something to do. Eventually though he did arrive at some sort of town. Or at least, what was left of one.
