"Y-yeah yeah, whatever, gramps." Mitsuki left, immediately searching for Yandela's room. Upon finding it, he knocked on the door once more.

"Let yourself in," Yandela calls sleepily, curling up under her covers.

Opening the door, the boy thanked her and awkwardly approached her by the bed. Swiftly, the boy rolled in and expertly hid underneath the covers, hoping he hadn't disturbed the girl too much.

"...god, this is weird." Yandela stuffs her face in her pillow. "So so weird."

"I know... But, um, w-well, it's too late to back out now, r-right?... If I walk out that door, Ed will think I did something bad and yah kicked me out, yeah?"

"...yeah." She curls up, back to Mars. "Still don't get why the hell you wanted to stay with me..."

"...Would it sound weird if I said it was because you're warm..?" He pauses, before laughing,"I'm an icecube compared to you, you know."

Yandela chuckles tiredly. "You seemed pretty chummy with Mars. Why didn't you puppy eyes him into letting you climb into bed with him?"

"Because, chilling out with you also makes Mr Eddy jelly. It's the perfect plan, yeah?... I do need entertainment, you know." He laughed a little bit.

"You know, you seem to enjoy antagonizing Ed an awful lot." She smirks. "Should I be worried about something going on there?"

"There's no need to worry. Anyway, he brought it upon himself, bringing that strange object with him. He's up to no good, yeah?"

Yandela shrugs. "Whatever it is... It isn't good. I wish he'd listen to me..."

"Mhm... Yeah." The boy sighed, closing his eyes. The man is doing risky things... No doubt he'll take us with him in his time of dying... Repent, Mr Hudacious, repent, before the big bad Wolf gets you too...

Edward sat on the chair with his feet propped up on the console panel.
In his hands, he held the dark shard and slowly twisted it as he examined it.
Thoughts of Mitsuki's background came flooding back.
If you were looking for a culprit, technically Edward could be blamed.
'Technically'.
He thought long and hard about the ordeal, there was more to the story than the had let on.
Regardless, who cares if Mitsuki was killed?, the boy held no importance to him.

"A live human body and a deceased human body share the same number of particles.
Structurally, there isn't any discernible difference.
Life and death are unquantifiable abstracts.
I lack the perspective to see why I should care?"

Especially as Mitsuki's death only granted him more power.
It was humorous really.

He dimmed the console room lights and forced himself to sleep.

Small clangs rang through the Tardis as Mars walked through it. He tried to be as covert as possible, he didn't want to wake anyone, he didn't feel like talking or joking or anything. For once, his features not arranged into the usual amiable mask. Instead of a grin or smirk, his lips pressed together in a firm line. Eyes which might've held some snark or joy were lowered and hollow.

There was only of few things that could make him this way again, one of which being dreaming. He hated his dreams, they were never happy things. Instead they were horrifyingly vivid recreations of past events or the ugly manifestation of suppressed thoughts and emotions resurfacing. Honestly he wasn't sure which was worse. More than anything though, he hated himself when he was this way, like some kind of skittish animal that would bite or flee at the drop of a pin.

Which memory did the worst damage he wondered, with what might've been a dark amusement If he could feel anything at all. The only recognizable feeling was the all to familiar numbness. It welcomed him, like a father might their child visiting from school on the holidays.

In this state of mind, he plodded through the halls, past the individual rooms and then the console room.

Edward was lost within the land of dreams.
In his dream, he was with Yandela.
They had arrived on a planet that had vague similarities to earth.
The Tardis crashed next to a large dark castle filled with vampires.
It was horrifying.
There was a statue that had the face of Mitsuki, Edward shattered it to pieces starting from the face.

Outside the dream world and inside the console room, the Time lord sat with a brash grin.

Down on the Planet deep under the surface was Xianto, he had continued building machines and now watched as they continued to spread, consuming and evolving all the while. Inside him he still carried the gem that the other robots had been protecting, knowing it was important otherwise it wouldn't be protected but not understanding its importance. There he waited biding his time, trying to work out a way off this damn rock and back to his world.

And while everyone was dreaming horribly awful things, there was Yandela, who was too freaking tired to dream thank goodness.

The boy laid there, wondering about all that had happened. "Oh that, yeah, that was my fault..."

Geez, couldn't you be more apologetic..?

"Don't you ever feel that you just want everyone to just go and die?
"No, not really... The world would be boring then, right?... Like, who else would there be to entertain us?"
...Heh... Yeah, you're right..."
"...Rae, is something wrong..? You seem less... I don't know, but you've been acting strange lately..."
"..."
"Rae..? Hey, are you okay? Rae?! Rae!?"
"...Yeah, I'm fine, just blanked out...



Heh, those were the days, huh..?

The night had passed and the morning was now here.
After having his usual morning shower, Ed walked through the console corridors with a cup of tea in one hand and a slice of toast coated in marmalade.
He had also turned on his favourite classical music and made it play through the specific rooms and corridors to avoid waking up anyone else.

Eventually he reached the workshop and continued building his new V.I

The last piece of algorithim was implemented into the V.I.
The main problem that always occurred when creating new virtual intelligence avatars was the fact that each creation could not have complete knowledge on every topic.
For example, a V.I may be able to learn the complete mathematical database along with quantum physics and science but they would never be able to understand basic human concepts such as hunger and sleep.
Edward had made this new V.I specific to human understanding as well as built in detectors to help with finding the shards.
She was also much more attractive than her predecessor, had this been earth, she'd have been mistaken for a professional model.
Once the safety release was taken off, she awoke.

"Well, say something?"

The V.I stared in silence.

'The closest shard is approximately six thousand four hundred and thirty two miles from here.
Local vicinity.'

"Well a simple 'hello' could have done you fine, but as long as you do your job, who am I to complain.
