"...you do realize telling a woman to calm down has NEVER calmed a woman down, yeah?" She neglects to mention that, he has, in fact, managed to calm her down. "I'm Yandela."
Mars laughed "Yes I know, it hardly ever works. But you can't blame a guy for trying, right?" He asked grinning. "On a separate note. It's nice not to have to call each other 'hey' and 'you' anymore, isn't it?" He walked up to stand next to Yandela.
"Might be easier to continue doing so with me," she smiles softly and prods their compass on. She begins following it, glancing to make sure that Mars is still beside her. "Yandela's a bit of a mouthful."
Following closely behind Yandela he watched how the 'compass' was operated. "Well I could attempt to give you a horrid nickname that you'll hate." He offered. Mars pondered for awhile "Okay I think I've got it," he said with a snap of his fingers "How about Dela? Hmmm maybe Yande would be better." She had the sort of name that was hard to shorten into something without botching the whole endeavor.
Her lips twitch. "Dela sounds like Deli, and I don't feel like getting hungry every time you address me. Yande sounds... Ah whatever." She shrugs. "Call me whatever you want."
"Hm now that you put it that way all I can think of is a sandwich," he said imagining her in a sub sandwich suit. He snickered quietly "Hey Yan? When the kid asked you that question, did you actually believe it?" He asked randomly. It'd been something that was bugging him for awhile. He couldn't have been the only one to disregard it, right? Besides, he wasn't going to ask her why she agreed, as he didn't want her to do the same.
"Of course not," she answers quietly, gaze focus on the road ahead. "I mean... My life was pretty bad, so I may have hoped so, but there was no way there was a being with enough magic to create a world, good or evil, and allow it to inhabit life, and allow it to receive life transported in from billions of miles away. Transportation is more science than magic, see?" She explains, slightly lost in her thoughts. "It's a relocation of atoms and is a very tricky process. People end up dead all the time because they tried to transport before their magic could handle it. Not only that, but the area you're transporting to has to have an atmosphere viable to RECIEVE a sudden influx of atoms. So it's incredibl hard to simply transport YOURSELF, but an added person... Goodness..."
Her eyes snap up as she realizes she's babbling. Her cheeks flush red. "Sorry. I didn't mean to carry on."
Her eyes snap up as she realizes she's babbling. Her cheeks flush red. "Sorry. I didn't mean to carry on."
Mars shook his head, "No, that's alright." He said evenly. Her rambling had given him some insight to the actual enormity of what had happened to them. So he had no qualms with it.
Mars frowned "Not a chance," he said honestly "I just agreed to get the little weirdo off my doorstep. You wouldn't believe how many disturbed people come around spouting nonsense where I live...well where I used to live." He amended. His "recruitment" story was far less fabulous than he was sure others' might be. But oh well that was the way it happened so what was the use in embellishing it.
"Hn." Yandela sighs. "What I wouldn't have given for my tale to be so simple..."
He supposed there was no need to say anything to that. It wasn't imperative that Yandela know every facet of Mars' life that led to his arrival here. So there was no need to pursue that conversational path further. There was a bit of lull in conversation, but that was fine. If it was like this he could listen in on the sounds of life throughout the forest. It was a different from the bustle of the city.
Yandela closed her eyes as she walked, allowing the pull from her spell connection to her compass to guide her through the trees without hitting any. She generally stayed in forests on her homeworld when she didn't need to go into town to purchase food- which meant most of her winters were spent is alleys as good became scarce. But if she and Mars needed to forage, she would be able to recognize what was poisonous and what wast. If the plant life remained the same as on her homeworld, that is...
Her thoughts seemed to trigger her stomach, which growled loudly in protest to being empty.
Her thoughts seemed to trigger her stomach, which growled loudly in protest to being empty.
A loud rumbling brought his attention to Yandela. "...hungry, huh?" He asked, chuckling a bit. "I'm not sure if this helps but I've got a candy bar if you want it." He informed "Otherwise...we might be eating treenuts," Mars eyed the trees around them. "Unless, of course, you want to go hunt a squirrel,"
Yandela blushed, laying her hands over her stomach. "Ah... I know how to do all that, so... Whatever you prefer, I guess..."
She shifts. "What's a candy bar?"
She shifts. "What's a candy bar?"
Edward continued to rummage through his pockets.
He had placed a tracking device on the young woman when they shook hands as well as the young man accompanying him.
This was his plan all along.
He sat down on the bed.
Was his view towards the humans a little too drastic?
The young fellow he was travelling with seemed a little odd.
Though he was human, he behaved differently.
More responsibly.
He stood up and looked around the room.
Scribbles of writings and calculations were all over the little hotel room.
He pondered on the fact of cleaning it up so the man accompanying him would not see it and get strange thoughts.
He laughed.
Even if he saw it, these complex calculations would seem like gibberish to a man of his manner.
"Hahaha, Edward you are too good for your own good."
"I should probably go and explore this planet in my own way."
He then gained a brilliant idea.
"How about, if i observe the individuals to learn their way of behavior."
"Genius!, absolutely Genius!."
He clapped his hands twice and in an instant he was teleported to his Tardis console room.
He looked at the console computer.
It was as it he thought.
The Tardis had drained almost ALL it's power in the diverse travel to this location.
This mean't that unless it was powered up to full, he would be stuck with the bare basic controls.
"Ah, but this was to be expected."
"No matter."
"I didn't plan to leave this place anyway."
"Now then let's see where everyone is."
He inserted his tracking device in it's designated slot and almost immediately, specific readings were displayed on the console.
"So that's where the young lady and the teenager are."
"Interesting."
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to observe them. Only to see if they have a shard of course."
The Tardis barely had enough power to cloak itself in invisibility so he'd have to keep the ship floating in the air while he watched.
His mind was made up.
Selecting his coordinates, activating the inertial dampers, refueling the atron energy systems.
He pulled the lever causing the Tardis to dematerialize.
"There's not nearly enough energy for a vortex travel, so i'd best do an instant transportation."
Moments later, the Tardis materialized in the air high above the young lady and the teenager.
The doors opened.
There, within the doorway, his feet apart and on the edge of the exterior,
His armed crossed and folded,
Observing,
Was Edward.

The tip of Scolopendra's snowy hair was singed. He was running down alleyway after alleyway, pursued by strange people. They were firing off chains of magic, speaking a strange language, and they all were wearing strange robes.
Scolopendra took out another packet of blood and injected it into himself. He couldn't afford to regress in a heavily polluted place like this. He continues to flee from his arcane pursuers.
"These crazy hooligans never existed in Civitas...What is going on?"

"These crazy hooligans never existed in Civitas...What is going on?"
"You've never had one?" He asked genuinely shocked. "Hm, how do I describe it..It's a kind of sweet in a bar shape? My favorites are the chocolate variety. There's a lot of that type" He described. Did that make sense? It was more of the kind of thing you had to experience to understand. He pulled said candy bar from his pocket, it was a snickers. Mars was rather surprised that it was still intact and not smashed or something. He showed the wrapped sweet to Yandela. "Want to try it?" He offered.
Edward laughed.
The boy was introducing the girl to a chocolate bar.
"I knew this trip would not be wasted."

Yandela wrinkles her nose, reaching for the bar. "Is it safe? I mean, we have chocolate and all that on my world, but... Not together like that..."
