Edward released a red juicy apple from his pocket and took a large bite.
He snickered,
"A noble request.
Despite the irregular motive, I actually understand your perspective.
Your emperor is dead right?, so what else have you got to lose?.
....
Wrong."

He took another bite from the red apple.
"Firstly.
Your emperor is not dead.
Nothing is ever truly dead.
Sure his body may have decomposed in your time stream but there are infinite parallel universes and timelines where your emperor lives on.
Do you know what I call that?,
Hope.
However, there is a small problem.
You see, there are laws of time,
Extracting your emperor from a different timeline or universe is against those very laws."

The Apple was gently placed into Diana's hands.

"You see,
Once upon a time, there were people who enforced and preserved those laws.
But,
They died.
They all died......
And that leaves me.
I want you to understand that the laws of time are mine.
And they will obey me.

When I am done finding all the shards on this planet I'll leave this universe and return to my own.
If you would like, I could bring you along and take you to your emperor.

The choice is yours.

However that brings to my next point.
I would very much like to have a soldier like you under my command.
You could always pledge your allegiance to me.
It could be considered as a temporary alignment until you are returned to your emperor."

The Time lord stepped forward and picked up the shard.

"Your answer?"

Again. He was pretty uncomprehending of this mystery affliction but, whatever. If water helped, then it helped. He passed the water to Mitsuki and proceeded to the task at hand. One of utmost importance; petting those ears. Which he did, with gusto. It was a lot like petting a fox, Or he guessed that it was. Mars made sure to tug one to see if they were legit, even though he'd seen them pop out. Too many halloweens made one suspicious.

"I'd rather not deal with anything that comes with something called Blight, thanks." She was watching Mars closely. "Um. Maybe you might have wanted to wait until we knew if we had to do anything to the water first...?"

The armour emitted a slow laugh. "You seem to have misunderstood. It is I who am dead, not my emperor. This body inside me is my own. I failed him, the one I swore to protect by being stuck here unable to protect him. Time may be under you control but there is something I have you cannot control. My honour."

It paused for a few seconds. "Even if I went back I have broken my promise. The one I made when I gained this body. The promise was in return for accepting this body I would always be around for him to protect him when needed. Time cannot heal breaking that. Maybe you understand, maybe you don't either way honour to us and our promises are one of the most important things."

At the proposition Xianto began to chuckle. "you have done nothing but criticise me before and now you suddenly want me as an asset. You have to give a much better reason than that." One of his hands began slowly moving until it grasped his core in its hands. "I am prepared to die here, know that. What possible reason could you have for wishing to extend my life."

Edward stared blankly at the man.

"Am i supposed to be affected by your death?,
If you wish to die because of your 'Emperor' then do so. I have what i came for.
You are no longer of any importance to me."

He turned towards the exit.

"The gift of life is an amazing thing.
Though you have died, you were lucky enough to get a second life.
The methods of gaining this life are irrelevant when you've been alive for this long.

If you wish to go and end something that so many people wish their friends or families could have
then do so.

It holds no meaning towards me."

"So, are you done? Or do you wish to continue..? I don't care either way." The boy asked simply, looking up at the taller male. "Because if you are, hold out your hand. I shall purify them right away."

"Hey, don't rush me. Can't you tell I'm sick?" Mars flicked one ear, like he was punishing a dog or something.

He guessed that it did hurt. Not too bad but he could feel that what had been a numbing almost burning kind of feeling was now an ache. He pulled back his hand and examined it, being careful not to touch himself or anything else. There was some discoloration that he noticed there. "Ok, I'm done!" Mars smiled despite the pain and held out his hand. Even if it hurt, he was still glad he did it and didn't regret the choice.

"Alright." Mitsuki literally just poured water onto Mars hand.
That's it.
No big 'treatment'.

He just poured water on the man's hand.

Mars laughed, seriously? That was all they had to do? If so it wasn't as big a deal as everyone made it out to be. "Well that was nice and anticlimactic, wasn't it?" He asked, with a grin. He flung some excess water off his hand, careful not to do it towards anyone just in case.

"I guess now that, that whim's fulfilled we really should see if we can catch up to Ed or not."

The boy remained watching him, nodding. "Yes, we should. But with this other cup, may you pour it over my ears..? I refuse to have them at this moment of time. Perhaps when I turn on Ed and, most likely, you two, I shall have them to ease the pain you feel because of my Kawaii-ness, but not now. Not when we're going out and kicking Ed's ass for leaving. That donkey needs to stay in the stable.... Oh, and, er, go 'save' Ed. Yes yes, of course."

Mars blinked, what was Mitsuki mumbling about again? Sounded like he wasn't so fond of eddy right now. But what else was new? It didn't sound like anything very friendly. Unfortunately he did catch most of it. With a shrug he took the cup and poured it over Mitsuki's head.

"I thank you.." The boy's ears seemingly evaporated, a smile on Mitsuki's face once more, which turned into a grin. "Well, now that I don't have those painful things on top of my head, let us go, yeah?"

"Sounds good."

Yandela had watched the scene quietly, her arms crossed in order to prevent herself from touching the ears. Even the most powerful mages can find it hard to resist such impulses

She perks up at the mention of finding Edward through. "Yeah. I've gotta to kick his ass for building a freaking female robot. Like. What the heck."

"...oh yeah, and leaving us."

"Oh I don't think she was that bad. Better than the old one at least." Mars shrugged. Yan was just a green-eyes monster sometimes. Edward wasn't the type to get it on with his own creations. Well... Mars hoped that he wasn't because that was just sad.

It did, however, annoy him that Ed just left them to do who knows what. The teen got flashbacks from the last time the man charged headfirst into something blindly. You know, for someone so supposedly smart he acted without thinking a lot.

"That's supposed to make me feel better?" Yandela asks wryly, crossing her arms. She scoffs. "Look at me, jealous of a freaking robot..."

She glances at Mars. "Although, before this world, I'd never seen anything like those."

"Well it's not like there are any other females for you to be jealous of," Again he shrugged, but this time a little smile was added to the mix. Or maybe it was a smirk. At this point he didn't know how helpful he was being. So he figured his best bet was just to keep on swinging until something hit.

"Well, I've seen robots. But they are mostly just machinary that does a specific task mindlessly. There's no personality or human form or anything."

As he infiltrated the compound, he noticed many particular things. People had been here. The robo-man was here. The group was here. And something else was here, although he didn't know what. Had another entity joined them? Moving on, he quickly made his way through the complex, remaining unseen. Trails of robot parts strung the ground, and he constantly ran into dead ends. This place wasn't for any productive use, but it seemed to all be purely aesthetic. A maze, perhaps, Scolopendra mused.

"...What the hell happened here?"

Scolopendra continued down the seemingly endless corridors of bedrock a little farther, but something seemed off now. The walls were less smoothed over, and more jagged. He forged on until he reached a room. Within the room there were many monitors, and manning each monitor were some robots. Clearly there was more at play then what met the eye.

"Perhaps...This is the control room? I wouldn't believe that he would place something so important in such an obvious area."

Xianto began to laugh quietly. "so that is the kind of man you are, eh? willing to say whatever you wish to manipulate people until you get what you want? Very well then." His hand moved away from his own core and the plates of the armour slid back into place. The door over the entrance sliding down blocking the way out.

One of his hands changed becoming a machine gun, the other robots raising their weapons as well. "I cannot allow you to leave yet. first you must hand that back over to me. so I can destroy it."

Edward cocked his head at the man. He didn't blink.

"Let me tell you a story, there was once a Time lord known as Omega.
He was among one of the highest ranking lords of the Citadel, even holding a higher rank than Rassalion.
You see, Omega was a cheerful man, his intelligence and wit were simply unmatched. After years of work, he and his teacher created their own type of energy from a dying star.

They created Time Travel.

As life goes on, bad things tend to happen. Omega made a lot of people jealous, his skills were almost too perfect, to the point that the Time lord council began to conspire against him.
They caused the death of his wife and then tricked him into entering the 'Anti-matter' universe.

The story doesn't end there. Omega being his usual smart self, managed to shape and rule the antimatter universe to his image.
It didn't take long for him to rip a hole in his realm and return to our N-Space. He returned blood thirsty and ready for revenge.

Unlucky for him, all the other Time lords were gone.
It was just me.
And I dealt with him accordingly.
I built a chair in the rift between E-Space and N-Space causing an eternal time dilation field.

Let me rephrase that.
I trapped and imprisoned a Time lord who could shape an entire universe to his will.

If I could do that to a powerful immortal being because he simply threatened me, what do you think I'll do to a half man-half robot who is pointing a weapon at me?
