"Hah... Lucky... If you've got nobody to care for, how can you be hurt in the first place? Me, I've got a daughter that risks her life everyday to help people that don't even care for her... And that's my family, by blood, anyway."
"I'd say, personally, that I was hurting every day because I was so alone," Yandela murmurs, struggling to stay awake. Serious topics require serious awareness. Seriously.
"... Alone, you say..? Ah, guess I never thought of that... Huh." Rae sat down, looking up at the sky. One, two, three.. Five moons..? Seriously?
Silence lapsed as the conversation fell flat. Yandela struggled to hang on to consciousness, but her magic demanded she sleep off the sickness and exhaustion. She began to like the idea of sleeping more and more. Surely she would wake up if something happened, yeah? And surely the others wouldn't go on a murderous rampage. Scol had no motive and it wouldn't benefit him and Rachel... Chalk it up to bonding over loneliness and go to sleep already, Yandela. Geez.
Who the hell even narrates these things...?
Who the hell even narrates these things...?
With most of them seeming to drift off to a eventful sleep, Scolopendra figured this would be the best time for him to detach himself from the group before he became too attached to these pieces of flesh with emotions. He felt a lot better than before from resting a bit, and was ready to move. Silently, he picks up his blade and slowly moves further away from the firelight.
Having parked the Tardis in the exact location he knew Scolopendra would walk through, Edward stood leaning against the exterior door with his arms folded.
"A man once said to me that no matter how hard you try, the crust from a fully burnt toast can never be overlapped. You could butter it with every sort of flavour and it would still taste bad."
He stood upright, "That's not an analogy by the way, I accidentally burnt my toast and thought I'd share that with you.
So Scolopendra, I see you've returned from your pilgrimage."

He looked at the Time Lord and laughed.
"Always the smart one, aren't you. Don't you have something else you should be doing? I certainly don't need you berating my ways. I mean, you should go check up on Yandela, she didn't look fine last I checked."

Edward stared at him with an expressionless display.
"It really says something about the rest of the group when I consider you the most formidable ally."
He reached into his coat, untied the dark shard from his belt and threw it at the man's feet.
"I've been around, that shard holds the potential power hurt Mitsuki maybe even defeat him.
What you make of it is your business."
He turned from his position, pushed in the finely shaped Tardis key and unlocked the exterior door.
"Only a fool can see that something big is about to happen.
You could join me in my preparation as an ally or you can run back into the woods and wait your turn.
The choice is yours."

He picked up the shard, examining it carefully.
"Hurt the boy? Why would I want to harm him? In fact, I'm currently in his debt right now. Don't expect much from me if you plan on going against the god of this world. That's just a suicidal thought. In fact, we may be going against each other if you do want to do battle. You're quite preposterous."
Scolopendra, however, did pocket the shard before turning around.
"I'll keep in touch."
He disappeared from sight immediately, melting into the shadows.

Edward didn't even bother looking behind him. He had placed a tracking device on the shard and now he could have Scolopendra's immediate location whenever he pleased.
The doors closed as he walked towards the console staring directly at the monitor with its display of the location of the fifth shard.
He chuckled,
"All these talk of gods and yet he still needs people to collect the shards for him.
Mother of Hudacious, if the boys from the academy were here. It'd be a Comedy Central.
Saturday night live."
His hand pushed down the gyroscopic stabiliser and automatically initiated the dematerialisation sequence.

Yandela awakes with a start. What she doesn't know is that this is merely her author prodding her into action for the fear of the thread suddenly keeling over, so she's going to call it a nightmare that she can't remember. Maybe it had some foreshadowing prophecy in it, who knows? Either way, it has the effect of waking her up, with a loud, half-strangled scream.
Cuz that's how we do.
Cuz that's how we do.
"You sound like a cat that was half-drowned..." The woman sighs bitterly, staring at the sky. She wanted to go back home, with her daughter. She felt useless, sitting on the ground, not able to contribute to the cause back in her own world. She's scared, she will admit it. But she felt as if something was terribly wrong... Was it just her worrying again? Or..? She looked over at the white-haired boy, still unconscious. Good lord... You're more trouble than you're worth...
Yandela shot a glare at Rachel, then stood, dusting herself off. She begins thinking about their next steps. "I've still got the feather... but I believe that Edwar has the compass... Or does Mars have it?"
She sighs. "I don't even know, but we should probabaly get moving."
She sighs. "I don't even know, but we should probabaly get moving."
"I've still got the compass," Mars interjected pulling the small item out for, perhaps, the umpteenth time. Really, you would think that people would understand that it was in his possession, for how many times he had whipped it out. Might as well have been his keychain for goodness sake. Actually this brought on an interesting thought. How long had it been since he's changed these pants?! His habit of washing things that were left in his pants pocket was now moot! Well...whatever. That wasn't really the point here, he supposed.
"Okay, I get the compass, but a feather? Why do you need that? To tickle your enemies into submission?"
"It's supposed to protect us," Yandela replies. She glance at Mitsuki. "In theory, anyway. He wasn't ever too clear on how it was supposed to do that."
