To be honest, i actually can't tell the difference. The fluency in your writing completely negates any focus on the actual comments made by your character.

No, its not really a cockney accent. Its moré of a word choice kind of thing, but I guess what I'm pushing at is that you would expect him to speak with more slang since he's from the, for lack of better words, "hood"
he tends to speak more formally than something you'd expect from someone his age. Only on certain occasions does he speak informally. Or at least that's what I'm going for whenever I write for him.
That's enough insight for now though!
