So I'm completely lost. I am unaware of basic terminology inside Java, I'm using Netbeans... I know this is an RP site, but you're all so incredibly smart, thought maybe I could get some help.

I wish I could help! Alas, I'm not a java person either. What is it that you are trying to do? Is there a particular part that you need immediate help with?

I once found a Stanford course on basic computer programming concepts that was taught using Java that was posted online for free. I watched the whole thing, and although I'm not a java programmer, I still found it a really wonderful refresher and I picked up one or two tidbits I hadn't heard of before. Is that kind of thing at all interesting to you? I'll dig up the link if it sounds like something that might help.

The one I'm talking about is called "Programming Methodology." I put it on my ipod and watched most of it at the gym or on the bus.
