Latch was always a loner. This wasn't through banishment or ridicule, but purely by choice. Latch always preferred working alone. But one day, he was walking through an old town alley way where a moment in his life would be different. He had just stolen some coin and was hiding from the authorities, so he decided to sit in the alley, which had lots of trash cans and such, and started thumbing coins at the wall out of boredom.

"Why do I hafta do all the errands? Can't Todd or Alfred do it?!"

His tail flickered a bit as he rubbed his fuzzy paws together. Shady Thousand, demon cat that belonged to Maya. He was considered more than a pet to the family, more like part of the family and personal errand cat when things were needed to be done. His ears ears flickered a bit. This was a rather seedy and dark alley. He did not like it. Not at all. At least it wasn't a narrow space or worst, a box of some sort.

Passing by some canine like authorities, he tried to keep his cool. Feral, Monster, humanoid dogs, he was not a fan of them. Placing a paw to his muzzle, which was covered by a scarf, he toddled around the ally, keeping silent. However, something caught his eye. Like allot of cats and demonic felines, he liked shiny objects. His one weakness.

"What... is that I sees?" he asked.

He skittered around until he saw another creature. A squirrel type thing? Flapping his small wings, he hopped onto one of the trash cans and casually watched the other, his tail swishing. Maybe snatching a couple of those coins would be a good idea? He was really good at snatching things.

"What the... Who are you?" Latch asked as he showed up. Latch watching in horror as the creature tried to take his coins. "HEY! What are you doing!? Those aren't yours!" Latch touched his eye, which was looking at Shady at the moment, and the next thing you knew, a laser fired right at Shady. It wasn't a very powerful laser, but it might sting a lot if it hit.

"Yeee!Yii!"

A laser came at the cat demon creature. Hopping back a bit, he seemed to avoid it, where his wings were safe, however, for his tail? FLicking his tail. he glared atthe other.

"Hey! Whaddya tryin' to do? Fry me?" He asked. "I was jus' lookin' at yer spoils!"

"Yes, they're MY spoils! Not yours," Latch shouted. "Hands off you creepy little... ugh, just what the hell are you, anyway?"

Crossing his paws, Shady flickeredhis tail a bit.

"A cat demon of course. What are ya suppose t'be? A rejected roadkill or somethin'?"

He hopped over to him and pointed his paw to him. "Yer kinda ugly, y'know."

"Oh, rejected roadkill, that's so rich," Latch grumbled. "What does it look like, idiot? I'm a squirrel! In case you haven't noticed, I'm also a cyborg. And I'm a squirrel, slash, cyborg who doesn't particularly like your company."

Patting a paw on his scarf, Shady grumbled a bit as his tail flickered angerly. His ears flickered back.

"I dun' like yer attitude. Sheese."
openinghis small, bat like wings out, he flew over to Latch and sat on his head. "Someone needs to calm down. Yer gettin' all steamed up. Heh. Getting mad makes matty and ratty fur, y'know!"

Latch was getting angrier by the minute. He tried to grab Shady with his arms. ...But not his normal arms, his mechanical ones to make it harder to detect. He then threw him off and against the wall.

"Yeah, well I hate you too!" Latch shouted. "Get out of my damn face before bad things happen!"

"If I had claws, I'd scratch yer other eye out!"

Taking his paw, he gave the squirrel thing the... paw.

"I could fry ya, if I felt like it." He crossed his paws and sat on top of a dumpster and waved his tail in an irritated manner.

"Who are yas anyway?"

"Hello!? You're still here!" Latch shouted. "And why should I tell YOU my name. ...Wait... You're not working for the fuzz, are you!?"

"Ya mean those dogs that been after me as well?" He asked. "Hell no! They wanna catch me and put me in a small space!"

He huddled a bit, his tail curling around his legs. "I hate 'em. Hate Hate Hate!"

He landed beside the squirrel like being and sat down beside them. "What did ya do to piss 'em off?"

"I'm afraid THAT is none of your beeswax," Latch stated. "You don't have to go out there so the fuzz can see you, but just..."

Suddenly, Latch looked to the end of the alley, and there they were: Police officers. They were coming for Latch.

"Well, it's been nice knowing you, see ya," Latch said as he started running down the opposite end of the alley.
