Alton Nevin is a 16-year old boy. He is caring, very shy and a big softy, but he is also gloomy, looked at as a tough guy and a victim of bullying. People do love Nevin, but he is bullied for being too tall, not being like other boys, being ugly for having a scar on his face and for being stupid. Nevin begins feeling alone and useless, until someone comes along and tells him different.
