Vevaria; a land torn apart from war in the east. The relentless onslaught of Neross and his minions has prompted great disorder within the east. Many riots and protests erupted throughout the eastern cities, calling for the Imperial army to save them from this new threat. Local militias bore arms against Neross but are ultimately failing in the protection of their homeland. With each innocent killed, Neross' lust for blood grows greater than before. At this point in time, Neross has taken control of nearly half of the east, and is slowly heading further west to the capital province: Nova Den Ra.
The emperor was anxious as he paces back and forth in his throne room. The room bears banners of a snake coiled around a sword on a blue background. The room itself is as blue as the ocean, with the throne itself glistening with various jewels. Beside the throne were two Imperial Blue Serpent Knights with halberds in hand. Raphael's plan was to seek aid from different factions and mercenary companies in order to beat back Neross and his forces. Vevaria's army wasn't incompetent, it's just no in the east at this current time, as it's making its way from the north. Regardless of where the army is at the moment, he has a feeling that they may already be too late...
Raphael had arranged a meeting with the would-be heroes of Vevaria. They may be foreigners, but this doesn't bother him as much as losing everything he loves. A wanted poster, all of which the heroes have, would be brought to him, to which they'd be waiting assessment. The poster is of Neross, although his picture isn't there, his details were. The poster states that they meet them in the central capital province: Nova Den Ra for assessment and planning. If these so called 'heroes' are really what keeps Vevaria from falling, then he best gets to know them before they save his empire.
The meeting room was brown and dull, with a large round wooden table in the centre, and a single lamp illuminating the dark room. Once word has reached to the emperor of the heroes' arrival, he would instruct them to be escorted to this room for assessment. Provided one is late, they would wait for them to arrive in order to assess them all at once.

Knight Valemia marched along the road, her weapons idly bouncing upon the bronze of her armor. Her gauntlet held her large, curved blade over her right shoulder, a partizan was leather-bound along her back, and a pair of three-clawed gauntlets were tied to her waist. Her left gauntlet bore the onion-like shield, with its protrusion in the middle. It lacked an insignia and was very plain.
Passing a group of soldiers, she had stopped to ask for directions. One of the soldiers placed a wanted poster in her hand, his voice grave, "This will help you; help us." Unwrapping it as she marched away from their camp, early in the morning, she read the directions that were scribbled upon the back of the page. The sunlight caught the knight's armor and helm, somehow making her appear brighter. And she marched.
It was some time before she was escorted into the meeting room. Lifting her heavy blade, she settles it beside her. Her curved helm drifts about as she surveyed the area. Then she crossed her arms and pressed her back into the wall, content to stand by it with a leg partially bent outwards, one sabaton against the wall's surface.

All Evelyn was to most people was the noble adopted daughter of the head of House Sheppard. However, to the people inside the house, and especially to herself, she was far more. The girl knew about law and order fairly well, and tactics in military just a bit more. She also knew bits and pieces about using a sword, but her best stance is all about countering and parrying her opponent. Though she knew how to use these skills, they were not exactly what someone would consider her 'strong suit'. Eve was brilliant at mimic magic. Any type of magic she encounters, she can use it against the person who attempted to take her life with it... or help her.
Back at House Sheppard, in a kingdom far from Vevaria, it was all but a normal day. With her tutor, Eve was trying to study up on tactics. During that day, a letter had arrived. It was requesting aid against a new threat that is devastating Vevaria. Of all the people, Eve volunteered to head there, and she was given four bodyguards to accompany her. They were normal knights, all who were cavalry. Two knights wielded swords. One decided to wield a bow, and the last one used a lance. All in all, a good variety of soldiers, or at least in Eve's opinion. All of their armor was dark grey, and it all had a purple outline. One of the sword wielders had red markings on his chest plate, while the lance wielder had green markings on his chest plate. The other two did not have markings, not that it changed anything. It was only war paint.
Soon, they arrived at their destination. Evelyn would look over the wanted paper again, seeing the details of Neross on it. "I'll need you four to leave your horses out here if you are going to follow me inside." Eve would request of the four knights.
The red knight would nod. "Of course m'lady. Might I ask you leave two of us to watch the horses, however? I suggest leaving Miles here with Nicholas? I would not trust Nicholas in the meeting room, and Miles is the only one who can take his stupidity."
"Hey, it is not my problem that woman are such fascinating angels! I say it is a curse." Nicholas, the green knight, would object. All the red knight did in response was roll his eyes. Miles closed his eyes, sighing. It was sadly true that he was the one who could stand Nicholas the best, and it was going to drive him insane.
Leaving Miles and Nick behind with the horses, Evelyn would be guided by the knights, who both wielded swords. In all honestly, Eve liked Colin's, the red knight, plan to leave Nick out of the meeting room. He would have ruined their chances to be taken seriously if he was part of their first introduction. Nick is a skirt-chaser, if that wasn't obvious enough.
With Colin and Lincoln following behind her, Eve would enter the meeting room. The two would stand behind her in guarding positions, and both of them kept their swords inside of the sheaths that hung from their belts. "M'lady, this room is rather dark... I would like to enforce caution, if you would allow me."
"I request you stay at my side, but thank you for the offer Knight Colin." Eve would say, rather seriously compared to her usual self. This was all because she wanted to make a good impression. What if she was saw as a foolish noble? Noting her reaction, Colin looked over at Lincoln and would nod, looking forward and following Eve as she decided to take a seat at one of the tables. For the time being, they decided to stand until otherwise told to behind the noble lady.

As both Valemia and Evelyn made their way through Aquanasia's streets, the architecture is almost sea-like in appearance. Certain buildings had carvings of sea creatures immortalized into the stone, as well as bearing banners of a serpent coiled around a sword on a blue background. Valemia was given strange looks as the bronze armour is most definitely an uncommon sight in Vevaria. The Imperial army would mostly be bearing the colours of the ocean rather than bronze, and the fact that she carries various foreign weapons make her really stand out from the denizens of Aquanasia. As she made it to the palace, she was confronted by two Blue Serpent Order Knights who suddenly question her presence here. After she had explained her reason for being here, they escort her to the meeting room. "Wait here, the emperor will be with you in due time." One of the knights said in a gruff voice.
Evelyn was no different, mostly gaining the attention of the militia stationed around the city. After she had explained her intentions, they allow her and her knights passage. What was most strange to them was how a knight on horseback was wielding a bow when they entered. They've never seen such an odd custom before, but then again: they don't see much of a foreigners presence here. The militia escorting the knights and Evelyn bring them to the palace, to which they leave them to the Serpent Order Knights. After Valemia had initially announced her presence here, the knights would already have escorted Evelyn and her two knights to the meeting room, to which they are greeted by Valemia.

As the knights had approached Valemia, she dipped her finned-helm towards them and met their gaze. In a regal, but muffled voice, “I am Knight Valemia of Burmese. I have come to your Emperor’s aid in the midst of my pilgrimage. I seek an audience with your good Emperor on his invitation.” Turning her left gauntlet over, she allowed the knights to take the wanted poster, with the written directions and urgent words. Standing almost ghostly still, Valemia accepts the knight’s response with a, “I will do so.”
After shifting her helm’s gaze to those already there, she assumes her pose. The finned helm tilts her head downwards as it rests against the wall. Her gaze does not lift towards the chairs near the table, with their plush cushions and finely crafted wood. The only sound was quickly quieted, the movement of chainmail underneath her armor settling into the pose. Without proper lighting, Valemia’s armor was quite dull, with only the chainmail between the plated skirt, the loop of brighter metal around her waist, and the long-since faded insignia upon the chest appearing bright.

(Just so it is known ahead of time, I changed Colton's name to Colin. I like it better, and they're spelled similarly enough to make the change.)
When the other knights approached the trio, Colin put his hand on the sheath of his sword, expecting and ready to protect the lady if they caused any trouble. Lincoln, on the other hand, saw that as an overreaction, and he simply didn't adjust his posture. Evelyn wouldn't notice Colin's actions, and she smiled at the nights as she would show them the paper she had. "We're here regarding the wanted poster sent to House Sheppard, and we will come in to help." She would tell the knights.
Colin slowly released the grip he had on his sword when they were allowed to pass by the knights. Only then would have Evelyn noticed that he had his hand gripped tightly on his sword. She would simply frown to herself, but she didn't say anything about it to Colin. He was simply doing a knight's duty and protecting the woman he was ordered to protect, right? Of course he was. Eve should know this, as he had known these four knights for a long time. Though they were to protect her, they were basically her closest friends due to the fact she wasn't allowed out of the house a lot. She didn't question why she was let out this time, but she didn't care either. Soon, the militia would drop them off in the meeting room, and they would observe their surroundings, noting they were the only ones there at the time, or at least when talking about hired heroes.
Miles had noticed that some of the soldiers had been staring at him rather oddly. However, once he studied them a bit longer, he noticed that all of the knights who had horses didn't seem to have any sort of bow. This surprised him slightly, and he began to wonder if that was why they were being stared at. However, he didn't have anything to prove this completely, so he kept his peace. Nicholas, on the other hand, was busy chatting up a lady in the street. He was doing rather well until her husband came in and walked her away, pushing Nicholas away. Before a fight happened, Miles took it upon himself to restrain his ally until the lady's husband was gone.
The red knight's gaze would turn towards Valemia's when she had entered before the other two. His helmet was off, showing his chestnut blonde hair color. It was short, though he was not bald. Lincoln had a more normal set of hair, which was colored a rich wine. He looked back at Valemia when Evelyn did. "Oh hello-" Evelyn would begin before Colin interrupted her.
"I would like to say ahead of time that you shall not do anything fishy around m'lady, understood, sir?" Colin said sternly to the knight, who he had currently presumed to be a guy due to the armor. Lincoln would groan slightly from how strict his partner was. Of course he agreed it was good, but sometimes he was too wary and protective of Evelyn.
"...Colin please, I'd like to make a good first impression for once.." Evelyn would say, before getting up and whispering into his ear, "I don't meet enough people.." After telling him that, she would smile at Valemia, and she would retry her greeting, not listening to any objections Colin may have. "Hello! I'm Evelyn Sheppard... Might I ask who you are?" Evelyn would ask slightly nervously, hoping she didn't do anything wrong. Lincoln and Colin both watched the two interact, but Colin was most ready to run in if he thought anything dangerous would happen.

Valemia's helm lifted, her arms unfolding and her posture straightening. The eye slits stared at Colin. A long pause passed, before, "Your words do me harm. To assume I would do anything against my code, my honor, speaks ill of me. Should you continue these assumptions, I will have to defend my honor." Gauntlets at her side, open and free of tension, Valemia continues with her helm shifting towards Eveyln, "Hear me, fair maiden." The partially muffled tone became more pronounced, as Valemia's helm drifted between those gathered before her, "I am Knight Valentine of Burmese. I am without king, kingdom, and kinsmen. But I bear the duty of a knight and the burden will be with me when I am laid down to rest; to be with Her holiness."
All Colin would do in response to the knight was frown. Some would have compared the two of their physical bodies and bet that Colin would have been able to win in a duel of honor, but he did not believe in that sort of thing. In order for him to know if he could win, he would need to see this man-he was still under the impression this was a male-in combat, and simply know more about the person in general, otherwise he would be left clueless. "We will see." Colin would respond, regarding the duel for honor.
"...So, is it safe for me to presume that you would be a mercenary for hire?" Evelyn would ask. On the inside, she felt very jealous. This man's introduction was far better than hers to him! She presumed that this is what anyone who was on a high class scale should introduce to someone like. Seeing how Evelyn was was a Noble's adopted daughter, she would need to probably ask about this introduction thing sometime, or just test it out for herself. Maybe it could be fun to do! But that wasn't exactly the priority right now. Her current goal was to get in the good side of who seemed to be her current companion for what they had signed up for.
"Miles, did you SEE her?! That was a beautiful angel! Why did you stop me from winning her affection?!" Nicholas would ask in full rage, looking as if he was ready to punch something to near death, which would most likely be Miles as the main target.
Sighing, Miles would respond to Nicholas in a deep and slow voice. "You're an idiot..." Somehow, that made Nick stop wanting to fight, as he just blankly stared at Miles with his jaw down.

((Just to let you all know that this is meant to keep the RP alive while we wait for Miss and the others. It's also a good opportunity for them to learn more of Vevaria, I'll say ))
As Miles and Nicholas converged, a large gathering of people began to walk in their direction. They walk past them, whispering of a supposed tournament not far from them. Tournaments are a special part of Vevarian society and culture, as this gives both the rich and poor a chance to show their skill in combat, and earn money whilst doing so. If they so choose to, the knights would follow this crowd to a large stadium with a mass gathering of other people. Various knights were also there, especially the Blue Serpent Order Knights, whom are known throughout the Empire for their ruthlessness and discipline. Of course, this means abandoning their posts and following these people, but then again, this may be a good opportunity to learn more of the Empire's customs.

"...Wait, you can talk?! I always thought that you never learned how to talk, and how you were always the cool mute guy." Nicholas's jaw was down in astonishment. From all of the times he had worked with Miles, he did not remember a single moment that the knight spoke. Of course, Miles did talk before.
"..." Miles would silently shake his head, and then he glanced over towards a road. He saw some sort of poster written against the wall. "Wait here..." He would order. Seeing how Nick was already seeing a whole new view of Miles, he slowly nodded in response. He approached the sheet of paper, reading it over.
"...Take the horses, I want to examine this tournament that is apparently going to happen." He would request of Nick, who would do exactly as Miles asked. Seeing how easily controllable he was, Miles couldn't help but slightly laugh as he smugly grinned when he turned around from Nicholas. Sometimes power went to his head, but bad things never actually happened when he felt like this. In fact, he was actually not that corrupt himself, or able to be corrupted.
Soon, the two knights and the five horses-two Miles decided to take-would begin to approach the arena, looking at the building before them to examine their surroundings.

Soon, the two knights and the five horses-two Miles decided to take-would begin to approach the arena, looking at the building before them to examine their surroundings.
The arena is circular in appearance, and has multiple rows of citizens to sit. The commoners would sit at the back whilst the nobles would sit in the front, a custom amongst Vevarian society. A loud voice is heard from inside the arena by a man wearing a colorful tunic. It appears the carnage is just about to start. "Welcome brethren of the snake! I am your host, Gerald of Vildamore. Prepare yourself, as we are pitting two teams against each other in a melee battle for riches!" The large crowd cheers in unison, as two groups of armored warriors appear from both sides of the arena, one side bearing blue ribbons on their arms, whilst the others, red. "Prepare yourselves, as we have the experienced Red Drake team against the newly formed Blue Plight team. Give the Red Drakes a big hand!" The crowd cheers yet again, clapping vigorously as the armored Red Drakes raise their weapons and pose. "And of course! Let us welcome the Blue Plights!" A portion of the crowd cheer and clap leaving the Blue Plights with little to be motivated. "And in these times of great dismay, let us reap for a one minute silence, for those lost in the east." Gerald lowers his head as does the spectators. A minute passes of this silence, and they quickly raise their heads back up. "Now! Let the melee begin!" The crowd cheer as the teams got into position. "Gentlemen are you ready?" He puts his hand in the middle of the teams. "En garde...! Fence!" He shouts as he moves his hand away, and the teams charge at each other, weapons in hand.
Valemia shook her head, the helm staying put as she did so. Her voice was very solem, "Hopefully, we will not." Valemia's attention turned to Evelyn. Her gauntlet placed itself upon the large, curved blade beside her, resting upon its pommel with her palm. Standing firmly, she lifted her gauntlet to place itself near her breastplate, lifting her blank shield, "I am a knight. I will not accept to be paid to follow my path or to perform my duties."
Glancing towards her shield, she lifts it upwards for the others to see, "I bear no insignia, but I am not a mercenary. It has long since been dulled." Lowering the shield to her side, she pauses, until, "My kingdom's colors would not be known in this land regardless. To them, I may appear to be a mercenary. But I aim to show them that I am a knight, through what trials this land holds for me."

(So sorry for taking a while to respond! I got busy. o-o)
As the two approached the arena, they could hear the sound of a booming voice in the arena. Before they went inside, the knights would connect the horses to some poles, paying any sort of rental fee needed to do so as they would walk inside behind whoever else was entering at the time.
Both of them would get curious when the announcer said 'Brethren of the Snake.' Was that some sort of cult in the kingdom that they accidentally walked into the meeting of? Miles decided to play it by ear, and Nicholas was just following behind his fellow knight at this point, but it wasn't like it was not on the look out for any cute girls... Just to survey if this town has beautiful woman, that was all... Definitely true.
Finding their way through the crowd, Miles sat down first in the middle, with Nick soon to follow. Miles noted his partner's rather... expected staring at a certain gender that was among them. Because of this, it was mainly Miles who noticed that there seemed to be others who entered the arena. These fights were always rather interesting to him, ever since he could remember. Something about them just clicked something inside of them, but he was never able to put his finger on it. He just watched the duels and loved the duels without question, and of course it was with his own will.
As soon as the announcer called the fight between the teams Red Drake and Blue Plight, which were ridiculous names in Miles' opinion, Nick would turn his attention back to where the two had come there for, which was the arena that was before them.
Without responding towards the last sentence that Valemia spoke directly to him, Colin would cross his arms over his armor's breastplate, looking towards Lady Evelyn. Being the man he was, he was protective of her. It was his job, and he almost all of his life to be a knight, as soon as he was able to begin. That would have been around when he was thirteen at least when he did his 'heavy duty' training as some people may call it. Colin considered it his path to becoming a knight, who would fulfill the deeds of the King. Which was to guard House Sheppard, who ordered him to guard their daughter, Evelyn. Well, she was technically House Sheppard's daughter, but she was adopted into the family. She was not related by blood, but she was treated almost as she was. Everyone, including her, knew of her being an adopted child. She was too old to not forget her previous family, at the age of eleven.
"Oh, I see... Sorry for the presumption." Eve would rub the neck of her neck nervously, but she managed to keep eye contact with the knight. She was actually about to ask about an insignia when her question was answered for her, without her even asking it. What a coincidence! The girl would look closely at the shield, just barely being able to make out a faded symbol on it, just as Valemia had said there was. "I could probably have been able to make out the symbol, if it was there. I had studied up on some kingdom colors and flags, things like that so I could pass history with my tutor back at my home." Evelyn would explain to the knight, wondering if she would get what she meant. She didn't think that Valemia was stupid of course, but it was somewhat rare to have a tutor, or at least from where Eve came from.

Each team would ram into each other viciously. Poleaxes, longswords, and sword and buckler are many in this melee. Each teams onslaught being relentless and unforgiving. Luckily, the combatants wore armour to help cushion the blows, yet the pain was still real in this case. One of the knights on the Blue Plights swung his poleaxe at one of the Red Drakes with a sword and buckler, to which the Red Drake knight extended both his arms, parries the poleaxe incoming, and strikes to the top of the helmet. He then closes in, and knees him in the armoured stomach and bashes his buckler into his helmet, knocking him down. A vicious, yet skilled display, as the poleaxe would have the reach advantage compared to the sword and buckler. One other Red Drake parries away the Blue Plight's longsword with a longsword of his own, and rotates it around his body to cut with the other edge of the longsword. A good display of using the longsword's double edge. He then retreats out of range, and grabs the blade with both hands, and hits the Blue Plight with the pommel of the sword, effectively making it a club to bash in armour. The Blue Plight falls to the ground as he was knocked out by the pommel. "Times look dire for the Blue Plights now! Can they pull it off?!" The announcer shouts as the crowd begins chanting, "Red! Red! Red!"
{I have been terribly busy with finishing my school year and work, but I -did- want to finish this scene up! It has been enjoyable, playing with you both.}
Valemia gave a nod of her sharply-finned helm, "You are forgiven." Her gauntlet wraps itself around the what weaponry was loose, stopping to affix her gaze on the femme and then her knights, "Another time, I could forego a moment to speak of the history of my country. As it is, I must depart." The knight dipped her head to the others, "My duty calls. I must answer." Valemia turns to the door, her sabatons clinking off of the floor. Opening the doors, her helm shifts to the left and to the right, towards those that had been posted near it, "I do not wish your King ill, but I cannot linger here longer than what I have already." And the knight strode past them, down the hallway.

((Wait... are you leaving this RP now?))
The guards posted at the door were if anything; eavesdropping. Their suspicions of Valemia leaving beginning to escalate the longer they listen. The guards jolt as the door opens. With Valemia beginning to leave, they stay silent for a second. Suddenly, one of them begins to call out. "Wait! Don't leave! We need people like you! Our empire is in jeopardy if you leave!" The bearded one calls out to her.

The knight slows its pace, turning to face the guards. Standing straight, Valemia states clearly, "I will do your Empire well, but not within the confines of that room. Should your Emperor be preoccupied; I understand. The business of state takes priority." She shakes her helm, "But I will do your Empire ill should I linger within that room." The Knight turns to leave again, but slowly stops. Her helm dips its gaze to her shield, as it lay bare, and shifted her helm to stare at the guards. Turning to face them, "Tell me, where is the land that harms you so? I will travel to it to fulfill my duty."
"You don't understand!" One of the guards called out. "The army, the legion, the armada... they're all on the opposite side of Vevaria! We need people to plan out our attack in that room! The best we have now is the militia. We NEED someone like you! Someone to inspire hope and change in this time of crisis! This so no common land. This is evil incarnate! Neross lives beneath the ocean to the east. Only a well armed fleet could get past his defences!"
