She blushed deeply when she saw the rest of his attire being removed, only flitting into the air when she saw she had to get out of the way. With her best efforts, she looked up at the sky, away from Brockton, in attempts to give him privacy.
When she heard his feet enter the water, Luella returned to Brockton's head. Her cheeks were a bright red still. "W-well, I'm here with you now." She stuttered. "Just... Please be careful. You're injured enough already."

He smirked upon seeing how rosy her cheeks had become with seeing him remove his clothing, shaking his head, "That's cute. Am I making you..." He pauses for dramatic effect, tilting his eyes up towards her, "...uncomfortable?"
As he would slide into the river, a sharp exhale would escape his lips, gradually lowering himself until the chilling water was at his chest and he felt his feet against the bottom. The pressure and cold on his chest made for shallower breathing, but his buoyancy in the water made it bearable to stand and begin his slow walk, at angle to combat the current, across the stream. He keeps his clothing held above his head and continues to breathe rhythmically with his face turned tilted down, eyes towards his feet in search of precarious obstacles as his feet lightly padded the surface in his forward march.

"N-no, you are not! It's just... Cold." Yet it could hardly be called a cold day out today. A blessing for when Brockton could get dried off and back in dry clothes.
She held her breath and stiffened her back while she watched the water rush past. She hoped her tugging on his hair was not too painful. She leaned forward, over his forehead, to look down at the water. Even if the water was clear, it was still hard to see the bottom with it moving so quickly. She could tell he was watching his steps and moving slowly.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a movement in the surface below the water. A rock had come loose, and shifted to directly in Brockton's path. "Oh! Careful on your right..." She said without thinking. He'd probably seen it too; they were both watching, after all.

Having not expected to be dealing with anything moving around him besides the water, the motion of the tumbling rock took him by surprise, only saved by Luella speaking up. He lurches forward, picking up his legs and jumping a few inches up to avoid the rock that would have otherwise smashed against his legs. Returning to the bottom, his legs nearly buckled as pain shot up from his feet, their bottoms falling heavy atop several pointed rocks.
"Ach, dammit!" He cursed, fists gripping his clothing tighter, still holding it above his head as he sought for balance again. Breathing hard, he shakes his head left and right slightly, searching for Luella's weight and tug with an exasperated voice, "Hey...you still there? Pull tight if you are..."

She gasped, covering her mouth. Goodness, that must have stung to land on sharp rocks like that. For her, all she needed was to stay steady atop his head... a very easy feat. "I'm here, don't worry about me..." She said while gently tugging on his strands of hair. "Please, be careful... You've almost made it."
Brockton bent down at the knees slightly, making it easier to step lightly at the bottom at the cost of submerging himself down to his neck, his movement becoming even more slower. Luckily for him, he was over half way across, and wouldn't run into any other issues as he approached the other side beyond a slight slip to which he quickly caught himself. Miraculously, his clothing stayed dry.
Throwing his clothing up onto the grass, he manages to use two legs and one arm to scramble up onto the bank, standing stiffly with his cold. He looks down towards his clothing and starts to sort through it, but stops himself, not wanting to get what he had wet with his still dripping and mostly bear body. "Vvvvveh..." He shivers, looking to Luella, clenching and unclenching his fists, "I-Ideas? I c-could just start walking with my clothing in hand until I-I dry off..."

Luella held close to his head while he went across the water... just hoping nothing would go wrong. A bit of his hair at the back of his neck had dipped into the water. She did her best to pull on it to keep it dry, cursing that she'd let some get wet.
After he'd gotten out on dry land, she immediately flew to the back of his head and held his hair out. She clumped it together and wrung out the water that she could. "Ideas?" She huffed. "Dear, you're wet. Get dried off. Salvage the shirt for drying off, and just wear your jacket. You'll get sick if you don't get dry."
