Howdy, RPRians!
If you've noticed a bit of an absence or read my profile, you'll have discovered... I've moved! Part 1 of 2!
Long story short, my parents got an RV, which I am presently living in until December 12th, when we make a big cross-country trip out of California and back into Texas to see the family! Permanently! Exciting stuff! With RV living comes a lot of changes! Smaller living space, closer neighbors, jittery pets, and conservation like none other!
Easy on the exclamation points, Copster, you're not moderating at this second.
Ahem. I took pictures of the new RV, which I'll upload later in the week, but this is a swanky piece of livin', let me tell you. Everything's small and cozy, and we've all adapted fairly well to close quarters.
Yes, even the cats. Poor dears went from inside-outside to pure inside, which meant a swanky new litterbox and cat-friendly toys for inside only. They're adapting, sorta! A couple of mistakes here and there, but they get the concept of litterboxes and are using the one we bought. We had a lot of help there. Unfortunately they now sing us the song of their people at 1am because that used to be outside-to-play time, and they don't know what to do with themselves. Oh dear.
As for me... *stretches out* There wasn't much adapting to do on my part, but I am having to conserve my online time. I'm still not sure what the internet charges are around this place, whoops. That means you guys will see me properly online at my laptop Thurs/Fri - Sunday, between 7pm PST & 10:30pm PST, depending on my mood! Otherwise I may hop on via my phone for a minute or two during the other days, but if you see me online then, that just means I'm taking a quick peek at things before I'm on my merry way. So if you have moderation questions, I hope that new schedule of mine isn't too much of a hassle.
So that's that so far! This RV park we're in is very nice and upscale, worth the price of admission (haha!), and we've got a lot of friends who know how RVs work to assist us in our various questions. We still don't have a truck to pull the darn thing though, boooo. Still looking, we've got 3 weeks roughly to find one. Fingers crossed, guys! We don't want to be late for Christmas with the family.
Edit: I just realized this RV smells of new car. I LOVE NEW CAR SMELLS!

WOOHOOO! I'm glad the move went over well! 8D I always dream of owning an RV that I can travel cross-country to conventions in with all my buddies...
heyhey! good to have you back! i'm glad everything went smoothly. living in an RV sounds like such an interesting experience! small and cosy spaces are my favorite, it feels like a bubble of safety and warmth. i adore camping trips, and i'd imagine living on an RV has a similar feel! i've only had the chance once, but it made me appreciate the simple comforts in life and the people i was with so much more than any elaborate holiday could.
(ps. i know exactly how you feel about new car smell... almost as good as new book smell.)

Hi, guys!
It's a pretty nifty living situation for the next few weeks or so. It's cozy and we're not stepping on each other's toes. Whew! It stays nice and cozy even in cold winter nights, especially with that furnace and all. Our cats though, the lil' jerks... the younger one's adjusting pretty well, but the princess is a brat. Bratty brat brat.
You get the idea. We got a pick up truck to pull the 5th wheel. Dad's super happy with it, and it's a big son of a gun with a lot of pulling power and all sorts of nifty things to assist in heavy towing. So many gauges!

Welp, today is the day! We've spent a month in an RV park in town, got our stuff shipped home to TX, and if the weather is nice, we'll be heading out by 10am.
I'm excited! This'll be a cool week! And I need to go help put the RV together, so I'll catch yall in a few hours in Hunington Beach, our first stop!

That is super exciting Copper!! Good luck with the trip and be safe!
Thanks, Sanne! First leg went well, only 140 miles down to Huntington Beach, we'll be there until Monday. Then we're heading east.
We're literally across the PCH(Pacific Coast Highway) from the ocean, but it's too chilly to swim--plus we didn't pack suits. Mom has loads of friends down here though, ao we are catching up with them. Fun fun! I really ought to remember to take more pics to upload later. Neat views down here!
