Awesome pics! Bowie looks like a rugged manly man, and the sword's all pretty and fancy. Nice.
Id suggest making the quillons on the sword a bit longer, though thats about it. The blue metal could be a reaction to the crystal set while forging.
For a name, hmmm... Brightburn, Fullbright, Trôth, Chivalry, and Judgment or Lawkeeper, and also Vow, Oath, Fullsworn or something
Just some ideas x)
Also some swordnaming resources

I think we're about ready to go! Though, Wish, have any more ideas for how your character fits in?

Thanks, it was just a quick sketch though.
Yeah, I was thinkin that as well. I like the idea as well. It could work out,
The Sword of Truth: Wielded by Richard Rahl. The sword has numerous powers, most notably that it rebels against being used on a target the wielder does not believe deserves to die, punishes its user after they have killed someone with it (especially someone who did not deserve to die), remembers the skills of its previous wielders, and if given to someone not worthy of the sword, will eventually transform them into a subhuman creature.
I like this sword actually. Perhaps I'll research it a bit more. Perhaps it could add onto the reason of Bowie not wanting to kill? The sword could be named "Truth"
We should be all set. Is Wish ready?

I think so! I'm finally going to have time tonight to get a rough sketch of Petra done. Been so busy! ^^" it's my birthday today so the last few days we've been running around. And I'm adopting a puppy so things are a little nuts! But it will all die down soon!
But yeah. So far im pretty confident on all of this so far. I think were beyond prepared and the story can easily begin without any issues.
When it comes to starting our story, that's the important question: where do we begin? Did we want to do a few scenes from their childhood and then transition to their older years and go from there? I think that would be good for their world building as well as showing their character and personality.

Happy birthday! A puppy, how sweet Choose well! The one that's not all bitey, haha!
Okay, no rush though. Since it's your birthday, enjoy the good time
I guess the setting of our beginning could be burning incense for the grandparents or visiting their graves, all on the day to join the adventurer's guild (let's say there's a trial we have to go through and pass to join?).
Personally, I don't think it'd be a good idea to start it off in the childhood -- that's something we'd be better off brainstorming and discussing as being the motivation or fuel for our character's present personalities and future goals. It lies underneath the action of the story, rather than being the action. (EDIT: Then again, I could be operating under a bias. I've had rps not start on the action that ended up losing point x) if you think we can do it well and have a confident plan, I've got your back, let's go for it!)
I think it'd be interesting for our posts to start off with a memory though. Like while we look down on the graves, each of our characters thinks about what makes us value this friend group, and then one of us initiates the movement to the adventurer's guild, and we make up the trial/test from there?

I'm interested
hi
Ah man
Its dead, ain't it?
Its dead, ain't it?
So is this still alive, I'm new to the site, but found this world really cool. If it is still going I would love to be a part of it!
I would too, Rixcus! Maybe Wish is just gone for the holidays? Hopefully...
I hope this can keep going anyway. Did you have a character in mind after reading it through? It'd be such a waste to see this world go ;__;
Maybe I'll make my own topic about it.

Yeah! I would love to see this world grow. Now I am a drama nerd and a Dnd Geek so too much or to little let me know lol.
I was reading through everything and at first thought doing a tactician for the group could be fun, but than seeing as how Bowie will fill that role really well I wanted to do something that would add another dynamic to the group.
Rayle would be by young man. 18 Charming and and handsome...though a bit frail looking. Rayle in my idea is the son of the owner of the mines, someone origionally from Grandy who distances himself from the other townspeople. Therefore he grew up with private tutors and excellent education. However... His old man wasn't always the sweetest... He owned the mine out of private interest seeking to develop and sell new weapons from the MM (potential name : Aurite, or simply Ether?)
In this regard his son Was not spared, being expireimented on by ingesting and being frequently exposed to the MM and it's miasma to either give him magical abilities or supplement his own (depending on the prevalence of magic not in physical/alchemical form in this world ...I was undpsure)
the results were mixed. His body was made frail...not to a level of absolute weakness but unable to excel physically (he can walk, run climb, and adventure, but does tire relatively easily <not that he would show it> and really can not take a hit)
But, (enhance or give) him(/his) magical ability. (WhT this could be is up for debate, but since he is not as much about violence and is more about manipulation I could see minor illusions...and basic utility)
Having grown up with his father taught well and expireimented on throughout his life he quickly learned to adapt and use people in whatver way he could to survive, Growing up around trade and travel his social skills and (in Dnd terms Charisma) are very a tuned. he knows how to make a sale...and is adept at blending in with people both physically and verbally.
Rayle traveled with sis dad for years, learning these skills, learning to read people, learning to hide, learning when not to. while others succeed in combat or tactics... Rayle does not plan ahead he plans as he goes and convinces others to come along...using honesty when he can (a little truth goes a long way) ... And using other means (illusions, cons, sleight of hand) when necessary.
Until this point he has hidden his abilities form his father and is looking for a way out of he situation he is in, with his dad still forcing him to take MM looking for the first sign of success to sell the idea to someone else's.
The other important detail is whatever abilities the MM is giving him... He is also addicted, which is the main reason he hasn't just leaf this father. His father suspects he may have some ability waiting dormant inside him and is quite fond of his persuasive nature in business dealing so isn't planning on letting him go anytime soon.
as far as how he met the others... Perhaps Chester attempts to pickpocket him at some point figuring he is the to good for everyone else son of the mine owner (whom I assume most people aren't fond of...probably owns much of the town) and gets caught by Rayle. The friendship could start when Rayle gives a sarcastic remark about his form and being to obvious in his approach but an offers him a the coins he has if Chester really needs them.
from that point he could slowly become connected with the others rough random encounters... With Petra he could have told some old creep to stop messing with her and sent him on his way, than walked away before Petra could even respond. With Bowie maybe his father offers to pay Bowie to spar with or train Rayle physically... And developed a friendship during hat process with Bowie realizing that Rayle was physically weaker and unable to match him but still never gave up and always got back up.
Or could further the outsider thing by having him meet he already established friend group during the story.
... Sorry if this was a lot guys... I was just really inspired by the ideas I saw in this group and wanted to get it all out and see some input/be involved!

Wow ... I typed this on mobile... It was even longer than I though... Apologies if it was a bit much.
No, it's great! Love the ideas, all of em exciting possibilities.
It'd certainly be a good, and necessary addition for our group to have someone of high society, and a mage to boot, intimately connected to the ore and stuff. If Wish and Hero show up (hopefully after the holidays), maybe they could weigh in on relationing and stuff, but, hmm.
Just as my first impression, I think such a character would work best having met the 3 character after they've set off on their journey, reasons being that; for one, from what you've said, he's a solitary character and growing out of that would be something good to develop and fun to watch; for another, a quest to recruit him and get to know him would be a great first mission for our characters that also reveals more about MM (I liked your name suggestions both btw, would be happy with either of em ); for a third, the plot that surrounds him could lead to a larger overall plot (like the cultists and stuff, maybe they're looking for people that the MM chooses...), so making a story out of it would be in good order.
x) We could certainly use those fun scenarios as either relationship builders or how they meet. I've already said it twice probably, but I do definitely like the ideas, Rix, good stuff

Sweet! Yeah depending on what the others think when they return,I have grown fond of the name ether for MM and yeah I like the idea of juxtaposition of having him join during the story... Especially with his connections to society and much of this group having a bit of the outcast vibe.
Ooh and yeah the dad could have some further coenctions to cultists or something attempting to use and abuse the MM. The cult could be one of those illuminati, free mason types,of lots of older richer people in power in it.

I like the sound of that!
Perhaps they have origins in a military order, like the Templars. A heretical underground that traitors wove beneath the tapestry of holy knights...

Ooh yes. Actually began before the split of Grandiel and Puck. Maybe eventually finding out they caused it somehow. Also has there been any discussion bout the inciting incident to get them out of the town?
Grandy'
Are we talking about thr illuminati now
HEY,I'm back! Glad to see that we have more people. I liked all of your ideas, and especially the name Ether.
