The Long Jaw mountains are the largest mountain range in the world of Ganymede, they separate the Elvish and Dwarvish Kingdoms, from the Basit Desert. But another race lives here, dominating the mountains... The Orcs. A green skinned, vile spawn of ancient greed and savagery. They stick to the valleys of Long Jaw to avoid the multitude of small Giant's tribes that settle in caves atop some of these mountains. The Orcs avoid the Giants because they know Giants are stronger then them, just if left alone Giants keep to themselves... Orc's do not. Pillaging and looting town after town is common for Orcs but not this frequently, Mountain Villagers and Hikers have noticed the horde travel farther and farther north then ever before, once staying to the southern valleys now attacking new towns and keeping the villagers as slaves to build something.
Some escaped slaves bring news of something called the Orcus Construct, a stone pyramid hidden INSIDE one of the southern mountains. The slave also brought with her more interesting news, the Orc War Chief working on the project is being helped by some hooded figures versed on the arcane magics of this world. The villagers of the town that the slave ran to begin to worry, offering gold, housing, and supplies to anyone who would venture to the Construct and drive the orc's back on there way south.
That's where our story begins, with a human wizard entering the lumbering village of Ilham from the North and a goliath cleric entering from the east, you have just arrived after a long journey here to investigate the goings on here. Athens has come because this Construct sounds magical in properties, and not only would that be interesting to take a look at but his father Vospheng told him to help people on his journey and so that's what he is doing. Blood on the other hand doesn't care about the people or the Construct, all you care about is steel and stone and some Orcs are about to destroy a whole mountain to use there magical device... That just doesn't sit well with you.

Athens waved at the villagers as he walked into town, "no need to worry, your hero is here!" Athens was a cocky son of a gun but his intentions were good, "keep your gold, and treasure all I want is access to some Spellbooks!" He began looking around for like a village Mage, "is there an elder or something here?"
Sitting at the edge of the village was a hulking, imposing figure. Several local children were peeking at the Goliath from a safe distance, though he seemed more interested in his meditations anyway. As the little wizard made his flamboyant introductions, Blood of the Mountain rose to his gargantuan feet.
"You go to the mountains?" his voice low and monotone, like a distant earthquake. "This one goes with you."

@Athens- Your trip has been long and you are a bit tired, the villagers begin to offer free food and lodging as a sign of appreciation when a figure almost two feet taller then you stands before you.
@Blood- The villagers recegnize you as the Goliath who lives in solitude just west of the village, you come every month or so for rice and other grains but this is the first time you know the town is going to be threatened. It is not your responsibility to take care of them but you received a message in your dreams recently telling of green skins and ash skins tearing an entire mountain down to create an ancient weapon... This concerns you.

Athens greets the new arrival, "trying to steal some glory for yourself eh? You sure you can handle it??" Size wasn't what really mattered in a fight, power was, and Athens had tons of power! His hand lifted and began to light on fire, "Names Athens, I'm the Wizard of the West, son of the Dragon Vospheng, and soon to be hero of this village! Who are you??"
The pinkskin boy spoke too much and said too little, listing titles that seemed like little more than an incessant buzzing in the Goliath's ear. Impassive and immovable, the cleric stood a foot higher than the wizard, with all the warmth and friendliness of a granite statue. An iron chain dangled around his neck, fitted with a carved hunk of snowflake obsidian in the shape of a fist. Without pupils, it was hard to tell exactly where the Goliath's white eyes were looking, but his head was turned toward Athens' flaming fingertips.
"When the fire consumes itself, it is the stone that remains," he rumbled, as though reciting a proverb from some ancient text. "This one's interests align with your own. It's name was given to Annam, praise be to him. In your tongue, this one is Blood of the Mountain. You wish to cull the greenskins, correct?"

@Athens- Not another cleric, another religous nut that uses peaceful magic and tries to make up for it with the weapon on his back. You can't help but half roll your eyes hen his proverb is being recited, but even still you can't help but think ahead to the battles against the orc's... Should something happen a healer would be nice, not that it will your a freakin bad ass, but even still insurance is a good thing to keep around.
@Blood- This guy seems to be his late twenties, possibly early thirties, there are three things he probably wants, fame, gold, and girls. His little fire not only doesn't scare you but it almost makes you laugh (if you had a sense of humor.) Your about to climb a mountain range infested with green skins with only a fire juggler at your side. Even still stones can't bring light to the darkness, it may be wise to keep this night light around.

Athens didn't roll his eyes, Vospheng had taught him to be understanding and respectful when it came to the dreams and ideals of others. People were quick to judge a guy raised by a dragon as either crazy or a liar, this Goliath seemed simply unimpressed. And to be unimpressed meant that the Goliath believed Athens, didn't think he was crazy and at least respected the Wizards truth. "I'm going to shorten your name... Calling out Blood of the Mountain every time I have a joke to tell or something will get annoying... How about BOM!?"
The people from below the mountains always seemed in such a hurry. Even names had to be shortened in their busy world. His title in the Common tongue meant little anyway, so the Goliath simply shrugged his hulking shoulders. "If that is your desire, Dragon-child. Come, the stones do not forgive the unprepared," he rumbled, placing a colossal hand upon the wizard's shoulder. It was not so much a gesture of friendship as it was the kind of touch one would use assessing a pack mule or hunting dog.
"As you are, they will break you. You require supplies."
"As you are, they will break you. You require supplies."
@Both- The local shop keeper invites you in, "hello travelers, my name is Nordrem!" The said human smiling at the two of them, "unfortunately you aren't the first to try this, a party of four tried about two weeks ago and their leaders head was returned to us in a small barrel of grog..." Nordrem was quiet for a second before pulling out a few potions, armors, Spellbooks, and weapons.

Athens examined the cloak and smiled, "if I could pick up this cloak, and your Magic Missile Tome along with this Disguise Self Tome that would be great!" Other then his Spellbook Athens has a dagger, a bed roll, and some basic travelers cloths on... "If we could grab some food and a place to sleep such as an inn I think it would be best to head off tomorrow bright and early!"
Lifting the chainmail as easily as one might raise a sheet of cloth, the Goliath nodded to the shopkeep. "This and the shield will be of use," he paused for a moment, somehow managing to seem even more stern than his usual, less-than-jovial self. "Annam's strength be upon you, Nordrem of Ilham."
Weapons and armor were one thing, but survival in the mountains would require mundane items too; pitons, ropes, rations. The Cleric searched through the wares to see what was available, making no eye contact as he asked "The raiders, have they taken your kin? You have given the gift of steel. This one owes you blood."
The Dragon-Child was playful, but correct. Rest would serve them both well on the journey ahead.

@Athens- Nordham gives you the Elven cloak and both the spell times, he then looks at you and smiles, "a friend of mine named Dorian, is the elvish inn keeper, he may be able to get you each a room for free if you mention my name."
@Blood- He gives you the Chainmail, Sheild, and three health potions. "No their raids haven't gotten this far north yet but I've heard stories of what they have done to the people of the south..." The store was quiet other then his wife sweeping the back rooms, "please stop this carnage before they reach our village."

Athens have Nordrem a thumbs up, "sounds good!" Turning to the door he shouted back, "I'll meet you at the Inn Bom!" And with that he headed out, finding the Inn eventually he sat down in a booth at the tavern beneath the inn, "one whiskey please!" And with that he pulled out the two scrolls and began to read, studying the symbols on each, practicing the hand movements described in each spell. These were quality finds!
She isn't completely done yet, but I have time to post, so... I'm sorry if you were taking turns...)
Bertilda was already in the tavern, talking with a group of people. She was trying her best to seem tough by telling them stories, trying to make them believe she had accomplished amazing feats of bravery, when really she was just a little girl compared to them. She had only managed to get a couple people to believe her, but that's because they were around her age themselves. Even a tad younger.

(Welcome! I don't think we have a strict order, we're just cycling through 1 post each at the moment)
"Bom"'s only reply was a silent nod of his patterned head, before making his way across the dusty village streets. The Goliath had to stoop to fit under the tavern's doorframe. The scent of ale and food was heavy, and the sounds of boastful banter (particularly from one petite female) were everywhere.
It was hard to tell some of the smaller races apart, with their tiny features an lack of markings. From memory, elves had particularly angular ears, so he kept an eye out for a male who fit such a description.

@Athens- You see a woman boasting very loudly about adventures that she had been on, but something about the way she speaks tips you off that she has never gone on any such quest. She could be a great warrior one day but as for right now she is a new blood, perhaps an interesting addition?
@Bom- You walk into the tavern and see mostly humans, with two shorter stout members of the bar and one REALLY small member. On the other side of the bar another of these stout dwarf men was speaking to one of the two taller members of the tavern. ((Two Male Dwarves, one female dwarf, one female Halfling, one female elf, one male elf, and about a dozen humans including Athens.))
@Bertilda- In a booth you saw a human sit down who looked rather worldly, after a few minutes of considering going over and talking to the maybe wizard you see a seven foot thing enter the bar! A monster?

Bertilda smirked. If she beat this... Thing, she could show off how great she really was!
"Hey, everyone, watch this. I'm going to beat that," she boasted, pointing at BOM, "that... I'm not quite sure what that is... But, I'm going to beat it right now!" She jogged over to BOM, unsheathed her sword, and pointed it at him.
"Hey! You!" she yelled up at him. She already knew this was a terrible idea, but... Since she said she would, she would.

Athens saw the girl draw her weapon against Bom, "this is gonna get some bad publicity..." Athens said to himself. He pushed the scrolls back into his pack and stood as his eyes began to glow and his Spellbook began flipping pages, "Charming," he cast charm person on her, "just Charming aren't you girl, why not come over here and tell me some of your great stories before you hurt my friend." He looked at Bom then back to the girl, he hoped this charm would work on her, it was harder to Charm elves then any other race...
rolled 1d20 and got a natural 8. After the modifier of +6, got 14
Charm Person Spell on Bertilda!
The people of stone were quite capable of experiencing fear, but Annam's disciples went to great lengths to un-learn those instincts. With the tip of a sword facing him, the Goliath was unflinching. "Unwise," was his gravelly-voiced summary of the situation. His eyes met the girl's, and saw the hesitance on her young face.
He made no attempt to dissuade Athens. Though the threat was minor, it might prove a good opportunity to gauge the Dragon-child's magical prowess.
