I'm looking to RP Adelbard as the personal guard of a noble--a prince or king, or perhaps lesser nobility too, though still fairly prominent in the court. The setting would be largely undefined so people can fit their characters in. European medieval fantasy style, with lots of wiggle room.

I think it might be fun if the RP takes place after a successful coup. The players have fled the castle to save themselves and now are figuring out how to move forward. Perhaps Adelbard's noble charge knows of an ally in the court they can journey to, but no doubt there is a bounty on their heads... or perhaps there is rumor of a magical artifact that might aid their cause. Etc. 8)

So I'm looking for people to play Adelbard's charge and other loyal people (or not so loyal--scheming would be fun) who escaped with them in the coup. Other knights or bodyguards, other nobles, even people working in the castle as servants, etc--perhaps the hostler who might saddle horses for them for a hasty getaway, or a scullery maid who always harbored a crush on someone else in the party, or an assassin sent by the usurper who tries to infiltrate the group but has a change of heart--or not!! Lots of options so post your character ideas below.

If Adelbard's charge or one of the others (especially a fellow knight) is male and of age, there is the possibility of romance (though perhaps unrequited), for Adelbard's bachelorhood is not for lack of willing lady suitors...

Fredrick may fit into this since he's a merceny. I don't know if you have a problem with muskets, grenados and flintlock pistols being involved?

I'd prefer if it were kept to lower tech, but I'd be alright with primitive hand cannons (and regular cannons too, though catapults and ballistae would be more common as war machines). Would you want him to be in the employ of the usurper, or someone's personal bodyguard? Perhaps a common foot soldier in employ of the castle who gets caught up in the fray?

I think it would be a common foot solider despite being more trained on be a cavalry man. I'll just let him keep his saber

Awesome. Now we just need a couple more players, including the noble! Anyone can either make a new char or tailor an old one to fit, whatever suits you

I have a knight, but I would be happy to make the noble instead. Whichever you would prefer.

Excellent! 8D The noble is pretty crucial to the plot so it would be great to have a player for him/her, but if you'd prefer your knight we can see if anyone else wants to play the noble. Hopefully a couple more people will bite

Also, if anyone has any preferences for setting details go ahead and voice 'em! I might come up with a couple basic things just for immersion purposes, but definitely nothing too rigorous.

I'll throw together a noble character then! No setting preferences as of yet, but I'll let you know if I think of anything.

Alright! I was thinking they could be any age, either the primary lord/lady of this particular court or the child of such, and their parents get killed/incapacitated in the coup. Adelbard has been a lord knight in the court for years, but possibly only recently has he been assigned to your character as a personal guard due to heightened political tension. Does all that sound ok?

We certainly can have multiple nobles--I think that would be very interesting, given that the party will be roughing it. They could even be related, or perhaps Marianne could be a princess from another country visiting this court and she gets caught up in the intrigue Whatever you guys want. Once I get to know your characters a little better I can come up with the "bad guys."

Sounds interesting. I got Azalea who's a Merc, just forget her robotic parts and I'd say she's set. Then there's Rose who can play a Noble, of course, forgetting she owns that company and all.

Catherine here can either be a Duchess, Lady, or... well, a Queen even but that's a bit much for the theme. She's a not too young noblewoman who probably would hire someone to protect her.

Yeah, go ahead and put me down for a knight. Far too many people here could play the noble lady far better than I could, I'm sure.

Hi I'm new to the community, but this sounds like an amazing RP. I made Irene pretty general, and would love to play as maybe a lower ranking noble? Just let me know if there's room in the plot for me 😄
