I musta missed that. Either way,it's a matter of perspective. From what I read, none of the characters are savvy in savage-lore, so a bit of paranoia or precaution is perhaps expected until they understand her a bit better?

We are a global society nowadays, and in some cases (and under normal circumstances) it's easier for us to accept the new and unusual. But Adelbard isn't me IRL! He is a medieval-flavored character so he is suspicious of things that are "Other," especially given that these cultures don't interact. It would be difficult for him to even understand Shala's facial expressions because they're different species. So yep, he would react with great suspicion! Especially since they're under duress, so tensions are already very high, everyone is hungry and exhausted, etc!

This, definitely. I was planning on Arnold running out of the forest before it burns down encountering the others, but it seems I can't do that now. Discussing our character's roles in the story could prove beneficial.
