She nodded and smiled. She was actually happy for her new position. Surprised, but happy. "You're welcome, Captain. Is there anything that needs to be done?" She didn't mind doing him a favor and being the first mate - which was new to her - her job was to give orders, while the Captain was busy and hand out assignments, probably scold and yell when it was necessary. She only took her eyes off the Captain once, to stare out at the horizon, a little concerned about upcoming storm they were headed into.
" don't worry we already went pass the storm awhile ago"
Ova ignored the captain's demand to go back to there posts and smiled back at Vita. She took an interest in hearing that Vita got promoted to first mate. She looked down eagerly waited to hear a ridiculous order from the captain to his "first-mate", but instead was surprised to hear that "we went through the storm already". Ova looked curiously at the captain and said "What do you mean we went through the storm already?" as she pointed at the horizon where the storm is suppose to be.
" I ment we already passed through...clean out your ears miss dark lord"* smiles and chuckles*
The Captain seemed to be able to read her mind this time (you don't need special powers for that this time). She looked at him. "Yeah, but it's just a matter of time before we run into another, isn't it? Life at sea is not easy, but it's never dull." She smiled again and took in a deep breath, enjoying the smell of the sea and the wind. She looked up at Ova and smiled, when she decided to pitch in.
"Well I guesss your right, Vita being the one who sailed on a wind driven ship than I did" she said as she agreed with Vita on her point, knowing that sailing a giant battleship is much easier time despite the size then sailing a Galleon. She smiled back at Vita, enjoying that someone on this ship is competent and intelligent to speak too.
Ova said underneath her breath "I bet you the one who killed her, jack***" be fre she returned to look at the horizon, remembering her old ghost fleet.
She looked up at Ova, when she spoke to her, and gave her a friendly smile. "I guess so, but I wouldn't live any other way." She then turned towards the Captain as he spoke to her. She was silent for a bit, but only to show respect. "I'm sorry to hear that she's gone. I know what it feels like." Vita was sincere now and you could see the sorrow in her eyes, just as you could, when she talked to Ova about her crew. She hesitantly put her hand on his shoulder and let it stay there for a few seconds before she removed it, because she didn't want to invade his privacy.
" it's fine vita ...just go hand out orders as you see fit for the ship while I'm busy"
"If you say so, Captain." She gave him a little smile before she moved on. She had a new job after all, and she would spend most of it outside. It fit her perfectly. She wondered about the Captain's wife, but wasn't going to ask about if for the same reasons as she didn't wanna talk about her old crew. It was personal and painful.
