He was out of sight already. The downpour's increasing had made it hard for the horse to keep running, but the Ranger whispered in its ear for it to keep going. Raine's knife stuck out of his shoulder unnoticed as he raced for the road which would be easier to move on. He had very little intention of going back. The rising waterlines were only telling him he should get out of this country even faster. The headache that woman had given him reminded him that even being bored was more interesting than annoying women.
When we was well down the road the rain ceased. He pulled the horses reigns as if he'd been struck. The beast whinnied in protest. Dadj dismounted and looked around him. This land might actually be beautiful if it hadn't been drowning this whole time. He guessed whatever nonsense the women were spewing to each other calmed the storm. he shrugged it off and knelt down to dry the horses hooves as best he could in case of infection.

Celestina...was a delicate creature. She never deemed herself quite worthy of life, and Dadj's words had struck that in even harder. "Because he told me to..." She curled up a bit, her hair hiding her face as she continued to weep. "He is right...I'm nothing...I'm not worth anything...I should drown..." She pulled her hands from her face to stare down into the puddle she was in. "But...I can't!" She splashed at the puddle in a fit of anger, each drop of the water quickly evaporating upon her will. "I can't drown! It won't let me!" She pushed Raine away from her and withdrew into a curled up ball. The misting was stopping, however, and the sun started coming out.
None of the people would rejoice, however. Not yet. There were moments of sunshine, and only if it lasted past a day, would they rejoice. Celestina's mood often affected the weather she held, and at the moment she'd simply stopped feeling. It was causing the weather to go back to it's normal state, the state it was before she had arrived.
But it was only a matter of time before she grew upset again..

(yeah,we probably should wait. glad you're feeling better.)
(Whoops. Slow internet, sorry ^^)
Raine sighed. "You're not worth nothing, Celestina. Everyone is worth something, you know that? Even and especially you. You have a unique ability, to control water. Not many in this world have it. You're a delicate, kind person. You should embrace that and realize that you could help the world in a huge way." She sat near the curled-up Celestina, not wanting to invade her space, and waited for a response.

Celestina gave no response to Raine, unfortunately. Nothing more than two simple words; "Go away." She stayed how she was, unmoving, and not speaking. She wasn't willing to accept Raine's words. A unique ability that could help? Everywhere she went, her power was called a curse and she was hated for destroying things. The girl honestly didn't see how she could be anything but what she was right then.
There was a strange noise, like wings flapping...Even Dadj, where he was, would hear the loud sound, and see the source sooner than Raine and celestina would. It was a very large bird, that dripped and sparkled as if it were made out of water. It was headed right to the forest, right to Celestina and Raine.

"I'm not going to go away until you accept the fact that---What the HELL is THAT!?" Raine looked to the skies and saw something that looked like one of her water sculptures flying towards them. She squinted to see what it was, but it was only a speck right now. She got up and climbed a tree to try and see farther.
(It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a--)
(It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a--)
Celestina looked up, standing up so she could see better. "Oh..." Her already pale face grew even more pale. The bird was approaching swiftly, and so their view of it would get better and better. Something was wrong with this bird; there was some strange blackness inside of it, an odd, oozy black liquid.
Celestina took a step forward, which turned out to be a bad idea. She had stepped out of the shadow of the trees into direct sunlight, causing her to screech and withdrawl into the shadows quickly. She had a throbbing headache now. Clouds grew, blocking out the sun, but no rain just yet. Celestina whimpered and rubbed her head, her eyes shut tight. She hated the sun, and it hurt. "Bird...bad. Bad bird. Bad bird, bad bird, bad bird."
(( nice)

"This isn't good..." Raine murmured as the clouds came in again. From her treetop position the bird was headed straight at her. She looked back at Celestia; she obviously knew what that was, and what that was wasn't good. Raine drew another minor dagger from her other shoe and tried to slash at the bird with it. What was that black stuff, anyway? This was a scene straight out of Howl's Moving Castle.

Celestina stepped back, more and more, moving closer to the caves. "Bad...bad bad bad bad bad..." The bird was sliced through, but the gap just closed up, though it did spill a little bit of the black slop on Raine. Depending, it might have even burned a little when the black liquid touched her. The bird swooped down towards Celestina, the girl shrieking and running into the nearest cave, slipping and sliding down the slope into it. A storm started almost immediately, the rain starting to fall again. So much for drying off.

The Sibling wandered, paying no mind to the endless rain. Endless, yes - he hadn't been around for too long, but the rain was ever present. The Sibling couldn't care less about that. His silver hair was soaked, his white clothes - several layers, as his usual white toga wouldn't help him against the cold - were virtually glued to his thin body. It was very uncomfortable, but he walked with such... confidence, that no one would suspect otherwise.
His only goal was to go where the wind took him... and the wind had taken him to a desolate land, a land of misery and death. A land of rain.
His acute hearing detected a scream. Not a scream, a screech. And it was just ahead.
Should the need arise, Sitta had the Carnation.

Raine winced as the black liquid touched her, then grabbed onto the bird's foot as it swooped down. "Celestina!" she called out as the girl jumped into the cave. Raine coated her hands with grippy water* and hung onto the bird's talons, trying to pull it down from the sky. No matter how much the bird tried to shake her off, she wouldn't let go.
*Grippy water: A coating that lets her hold onto slippery things.

So much for drying off indeed. Dadj forgot about the horse almost immediately when the bird creature flew over head. In all his long years, this was his first time seeing anything like it. He was... almost compelled to follow it and find out what it meant. Then the clouds rolled in... He briefly thought about the raven-haired woman and he put two and two together figuring the bird, who had gone in her direction, had somehow upset her. So that snotty woman's words were no longer helping...
The Ranger's lips twisted into a sneer. Perhaps she had met with an ill fate. He decided to see for himself and remounted.

The flying water creature did not seem to care about the person hanging onto it. The strange bird flew down willingly, possibly slamming Raine against the ground or wall of the cave as it tried to walk right in. Celestina screamed again, stumbling in her attempt to get away from the creature. She ran past it, ducking under the watery wing so that she wouldn't be trapped inside the cave. Some of the black ooze dripped from it's wing when she did so, touching her shoulder and arm. The girl cried out in pain and fell, grabbing her arm as the liquid sizzled and burned on her skin. The rain poured down faster, harder, trying to wash away the slime, but it did no help. The bird turned quickly to face her, opened its beak, and spat out a flow of the black liquid at her.
The cries of Celestina and the squalls of the water-bird could be heard by everyone, including those two strangers, Dadj and Sitta, who were headed in that very direction.

More strange noises, how unnatural. Perhaps a fight? A woman crying. A... bird? Were Sitta someone else, he would run to find out what was going on. But he was not impatient. And even if he were... he didn't care that much.
However, he was heading that way - and it would take more than a few noises to make Sitta change his way. The wind led him, and when there was no wind, he merely walked forward.
Then he saw them, two women. He stopped.
Watching the antics of animals can be quite entertaining, no matter how much they disgust you.
Not that his always serene face showed anything but indifference.

Raine fell and rolled away. That bird was trying to kill Celestina. That was not good. She had to get it. Kill it. KILL IT!! She brought out her weapons. A bow and arrows, multiple daggers, and a pistol she had...er, found. She fired five times at the bird with one hand and threw three daggers at it with the other.
Luckily for Celestina, the bird was distracted. The creature had turned its attention to Sitta when he arrived, and Raine when she attacked it. It squawked angrily, spitting some liquid out at Raine instead. Celestina scrambled for safety, not even looking where she was going.
That was how she ended up running right into Sitta. She fell onto her rump, blinking up at him in surprise for a moment. She was panicking, she was injured. Who was that man? She wasn't sure. All she did was stand up and rush to hide behind him.

Raine sidestepped the goo and continued pelting it with bullets--did this gun ever run out?--and daggers. She then decided it would be easier to fight it aerially. She unfurled her black angel wings and shot up to the level the bird was. She then zipped above it and climbed onto its back, where she held on dearly.
(( Okay, So it's not my game, but are pistols kosher? I kind of figured this was a more... uhm... medieval setting? ))
Dadj arrived on scene as Raine mounted the creature. He took a brief moment to regard her... and then dismissed her to whatever fate. He instead found Celestina hiding behind what looked to be... an elf? He wasn't even sure. Strange things were happening here. The elf didn't seem to be engaged in any of the goings-on, but Celestina had just dove behind him anyway. The Ranger dismounted and strode towards her. He gripped her by the elbow and made sure she was steady on her feet.
With a disgruntled look and Raine's knife still jutting from his shoulder, "Are you alright?"

The Shadow Hound arrived at the end of all the major drama, awful timing really. The shadows cast by Celestina and Raine seemed to ripple and evaporate into the air, forming an almost tangible cloud of darkness. This hovering blob of black started to distort into a vaguely wolf shape, about five feet tall with huge dark wings and a thickly bushy tail. The canid sported bright yellow eyes that focused on Celestina and Raine, an unnaturally long snout pulled into a wolfish grin, revealing ivory teeth that seemed quite real. With a casual lope, she approached the two women, her voice like an echo of something menacing. "Now now, why so sad?" Wolfess spoke in a tongue understood by many a creature, sentient or not, as she was a primordial demon, gifted with the ability of tongues. (yay shortness)
((Hm, good point...maybe we could just say it was the daggers and arrows? Is that good with you, Raine?))
Celestina was having a bad day. The bird was bucking and trying to throw Raine off or absorb her into itself, while it rained down the black liquid, trying to hit Celestina with it. The girl gasped when her arm was grabbed by Dadj, looking like she was about to cry from fright. And then Ominous appeared. Celestina screamed and tried to start running away, but she slipped and fell. A glob of the black liquid hit her leg and another cry was given, this one of pain, as it burned and sizzled at her flesh like it had done to her arm. The rain started falling harder, faster, as if it could somehow wash away everything dangerous. Celestina lay shaking on the ground, trying to keep from moving her injured arm and leg much.
One thing was good for Raine, though. The more she pounded the black liquid out of it, the smaller it got.
The bad thing for Celestina? She was now surrounded by three strangers {none of them seeming very friendly} , was injured, and had a bird dropping deadly liquid at her. Certainly a very bad day.
