Sitta (played by SeraphicStar)

Something had bumped into him. A blink, and the Carnation was unsheathed, ready to be held against Celestina's throat, while its wielder would merely say "Away". The opportunity was lost - everything was going too fast, even for Sitta. Then things became even stranger. Two horrible fiends around, one shaped like a wolf, the other, some kind of devilish bird flying above. And the worst of all was the increasingly annoying girl, who kept screaming and squeaking like a pig.

None of his business, and yet he was right in the middle of it.

While all the drama happened, the she-wolf lingered off to the side, pushed away by the screams and flailing of the two girls who were focused on the devil bird. Honestly, it was getting a bit annoying. No heed would be paid to Dadj or Sitta, yellow eyes fixed on the avian beast who spat burning black acid. "Yeah alright, thats enough." Shadow Hound spread her wings and leaped into the air with ease, as if weightless and carried up by the wind. Long jaw split open to reveal fangs as they would latch onto the bird's beak, or at least, attempt to. If the demon hit her mark, the stupid bird's beak would be crushed and she would forcibly drag the thing back to earth.

Celestina had a sword drawn against her. The elf, whom she thought might have been safe, was no longer safe. Barely managing to stand, she scrambled over to Dadj, whom she would hide behind. He was the safest person at the moment.

When Ominous attached the water-bird, she hit her mark and did indeed drag it to earth. But this time, the moment it hit the ground it exploded into little droplets of water and black liquid. It seemed that for now, that particular problem was past.
Sitta (played by SeraphicStar)

Good, the human was keeping her distance. Served her right... she should be ashamed of herself, crawling like a helpless vermin. How very becoming of a human - nothing but animals with illusions of grandeur.

But Sitta had other, more important matters to worry about than Celestina. One of the fiends had struck down the other. Who one would be the next one to be attacked?

It would seem the Carnation would have to suffer through the rain unsheathed - cold steel would meet anyone who tried anything funny.

The wolf fiend was Sitta's main concern at the moment.
Dadj Avers (played by f0x1nth3b0x)

Dadj collected the girl behind him while he watched the demon wolf take down the bird. As the impending wave of once-bird fluid shot their way, he lifted her onto the horse and threw his cloak out to the side of him to block the black ink from marring either female creature. It instead splattered on various parts of the ranger, burning and singing wherever it landed. He didn’t seem to notice as there was still a knife unnoticed in his shoulder.

He turned to Celestina, his expression less intensely annoyed and asked again, “Are you alright?” The girl looked like her heart was about to burst from all the stimuli of the day. He felt as close to badly as he could for someone and he offered an awkward pat on her knee. “I don’t know who else you pissed off to send that thing; but perhaps you should take it as a sign to stop the perpetual rain.”

She was downcast still. The Ranger was no good at consoling people, nor did he care to hone that skill.

Celestina stared at Dadj for a moment, gasping when she was put on the horse and then covered by his cloak. The girl was shaking from fear. When everything had calmed, she just tried to focus on breathing again. At a normal pace. It wasn't that easy.

When Dadj asked his question, she whispered out a very quiet response. "Y..yes...t-thank you..." She carefully slid off the horse, looking to Sitta and Ominous in a sort of paranoid way. She didn't think they were on the good side, certainly not. She moved in the shadows, carefully guiding Dadj along with her, then let the rain slow to a stop.

"I'm...sorry..." she murmured, taking hold of the knife in his shoulder and quickly pulling it out. She dropped it to the side and with her fingertips led some water from the ground up to his shoulder, to cleanse the wound and wash away the blood. Celestina was so ashamed that she didn't dare look at even just his face. "I used...to have someone who was nice to me. A mage...That was his weapon; the black slime. The bird, it used to be smaller; I sent it as my messenger bird. I guess...he doesn't want to talk to me anymore..." Not that she blamed him, if he heard word of all the rain.

"I'm sorry..." she whispered to Dadj. "I tried..."
Tried what? To drown herself, like he'd said.

"Tried to what?" He cocked a brow, generally confused. Then it clicked; he remember the wave and his dark words before departing. "Oh. I was speaking to that other woman." He looked over his shoulder to take in the wound. It was already healing; the sinew lacing itself back together where ever it had been severed.

He then surveyed the interesting crew of poeple who were attracted by this avian menace. The corners of his lips sagged in a frown. He turned back to Celestina, again dismissing people as not important. He watched her sulk inwardly for a few moments and then looked back to the bird goo. "We're going to have to pay this mage a visit if he keeps this nonsense up."
Sitta (played by SeraphicStar)

Sitta was not one to bother with the antics of a crew of humans. For him, there was no reason not to let the mage kill the woman. She was noisy and annoying.

The elf, who had only muttered a single word since they had met him, had had enough. Let the humans kill each other, let the strange wolf being rip them all to shreds, he would not care the least. But he would also not turn his back to any of them, especially Ominous.

Even if for some reason he wanted to help, what could he do about mages?

"You don't have to lie." she murmured. When he spoke of visiting the mage, she shook her head. "He already burned you...it's my fault...you shouldn't be involved in this." She felt incredibly guilty for causing him harm. But, unlike Dadj, her wounds weren't healing at all. The burn marks on her shoulder and leg seemed none too pleasant.

Celestina found her eyes drawn towards the elf. His gaze made her shiver and hide behind Dadj. She glanced around for Raine, hoping that the girl was safe. Raine was kind to her, after all. Ominous was kept an eye on as well, but out of fear, not concern. She was thankful that the beast had brought down the bird, but she was still afraid.

Dadj rounded on her, his anger flaring. "Look, just stop it, you're being annoying, and I have a short temper for annoying people. I don't feel the burns just like I didn't feel the knife." With that he stodd up and checked his mare over for any burns she might have had. Then he rifled through a saddle bag for bandages and salve, with which he tended her wounds.

The poor girl jumped in fright when Dadj rounded on her, shrinking back a little. She stayed in the shadows, however, not daring to go out where the sun was shining. It simply wasn't worth the headache. She said not a single word more, trying to calm herself. But the problem was, she needed rain to keep calm. But she didn't want to bring the rain now, scared that they all would attack her for it. Celestina stayed still, not moving at all. She even closed her eyes, trying to relax, trying to breathe. It was hard.

((Just to clarify I meant tended Celestina's wounds, not the horses. I realize that might have been confusing, in retrospect. ))

((I had wondered about that. No worries. She would've stayed still anyways and just let him do it. :) ))

(gah, so late with posts)

While everyone fussed over each other now, the shadow demon was left to sniff the area where the stupid bird exploded. The black stuff it had sprayed all over the place didnt seem to bother the demon, and she sat down on the wet earth, clearly unaffected by the fearful and suspicious stares of the others. Instead, Ominous let out a rumble and proceeded to scratch an ear idly, her huge wings disappearing into the curling mass of darkness that manifested her frame. "What the hell are you all looking at? Dont I get a damned thank you for saving your pathetic lives?" She growled indignantly, yellow eyes flashing in her face.
Dadj Avers (played by f0x1nth3b0x)

Dadj turned away from Celestina to look at the demon. He was not fond of demons, especially the Arch kind. He did not know this one’s origin or intent, but it was annoying… Pretty much just like everyone else in this place. He unlatched his cloak and dropped it on Celestina.

“Here, put it on so you’re out of the sun.” He saw how it had affected her and he was tired of the wet thing weighing him down. He turned back toward the demon; her aura was almost familiar to him and the cold spot inside where the two souls melded shivered with anticipation. When he was a few paces away, he looked her over. She did not seem to want to hurt them, after all she had taken down the bird.

“I will not thank you, mostly because I was hoping this bird would eat at least someone… But if you are so inclined to answer, why are you here?” He squared his shoulders and awaited a response.

Ominous sneered at Dadj, the glowing orbs that served as her eyes flashed again with annoyance. Damn mortals and their stupid superiority complexes, gah, she hated them so much sometimes. With a huff, the wolfess rose to all fours and padded up to the Ranger, eye-level with the man seeing as she was about six feet in height. An impressive measurement for a wolf-like demon, giving her the element of intimidation easily. "I get bored wandering the realms of Oblivion, so I tend to appear where trouble is and either encourage it, or stop it. Im not some heartless cur...." A short pause as the fiend chuckled, "Oh wait, I am heartless. Nevermind." Shit-eating grin plastered on long snout, amusement gleaming from gaze. "What the lovely Celestina was creating with the water and you all being present, I was drawn here. Chaos was broiling, and I am a demon of Chaos. If prone to some rare moments of compassion." Hinthint, meaning, she wasnt purposely going to harm anyone.

Dadj was not in the least intimidated; in fact if the demoness gave mind she might actually be able to sense her kin inside of him. When she was done speaking he merely blinked and the liquid of his eyes mirrored her glow.

“That’s all well and good, I suppose.” And he turned away from her then to survey the rest of their motley crew.

Celestina blinked in surprise when Dadj dropped his cloak on her and she willingly covered herself with it. "Thank you..." she murmured, and she was about to say the same to the demon even, when Dadj went over to talk. She just watched in curiousity, sitting down as well and keepinig Dadj's cloak over her. She wasn't quite sure what to do now. But at least, for everyone else, the rain had stopped!
Sitta (played by SeraphicStar)

As he was about to leave, a sudden realization made the elf change his mind. The woman was somehow responsible for the rain. How and why, he did not know. Would Sitta try to find out? Perhaps. But for the time being, from him, only silence.

The rapier was, however, not sheathed. Not while the wolf was around.

Her attention was drawn towards the elf, after getting bored with witnessing the conversation between Dadh and Ominous. She simply watched him. He said nothing, so why should she? He had done nothing to help, so there was no reason for her to approach him or start conversation. She watched Sitta with nothing more than pure curiousity. He was the odd one out in this motley crew, at least in terms of slight friendliness.
