I'm not sure if someone has already mentioned this or not, or if this is implemented in some way already... But maybe a journal/OOC update feature for users could be added? I only see it with characters(and I think that's mainly used for character development for some people), but I think it would also be useful for users as well.

That way, people can update others on when they're on hiatus and why, updating characters, or just wanna share their personal thoughts but don't wanna clutter the forums or their character journals unnecessarily.

It could maybe be an unlockable feature in an epic membership (unless this is already a thing, then oops!). Of course, it's just something that popped in my mind.

As an Epic Member, I have not actually seen a feature like this. :'D;;

I've actually been really interested in a personal journal that people I'm friends with on the site can see. I would love to be able to update people on personal health, or why I might be gone sometimes. ; v ; That, and being able to discuss ideas in a more condensed area rather than on the forums, like LightSide has mentioned. :'D

Unless Kim has had new ideas or changed her mind since she posted this, user journals come with more issues than benefits and it's unlikely they'll be added.

This has been discussed in the past and is currently on my list of stuff that's under consideration, but not anywhere on the actual development path (yet).

My concerns with this is...

• Notifications are already a severely overtaxed system that we should probably have a dedicated server for running all on its own, and I'm always nervous to add more pressure to it given that we can only afford the one server.
• This would add another thing that the mods have to patrol and, well, moderate, and the mods are already extremely hard working.
• It makes me feel like we'd basically be a Facebook clone.

Oh, okay, that's understandable. (Trust me, no one wants to feel like a Facebook clone.) It was just an inspired suggestion, and the post Sanne linked me to did bring up some good pointers as to why that would be a difficult idea with the system already in place.

I'm just that nervous type that doesn't wanna clutter forums saying that I'm simply unavailable for roleplays, so I thought it would be a decent idea.

It is totally okay to suggest things, whether they are accepted, mulled over for an extended period, or declined right away - I really appreciate knowing what people want, even if it takes me awhile to figure out a solution for serving that need!

Regarding being unavailable for RPs, we recommend adding a little note to your profile, and PMing anyone you're in an active RP with. That way, anyone snooping around looking for RP will see the notice, and the people who are already counting on you are for sure going to see it.

(Also, you can close the topic if you need to; since this was already suggested in the past, I'm not sure if this needs to be up or not. )

It was probably suggested so far in the past that this topic is a useful sign-post for the many people who have similar thoughts!
