A life of service to the king, giving all he can, yet the king could never really return any such protection. An enemy, unknown to the baron, won a battle in a way the baron did not expect. His knights dead, his awareness tampered. A month of confinement in a fortress never knew of. Now, the baron has escaped, a spot of luck. On the run, it is only a matter of time before the tormentors that took him captive would find him again. Worse, he has become slow and sluggish due to injuries sustained in captivity. Will he find aid or safety?

Some magic. Few can use it, but most of the players probably won't have it. Magical characters will likely believe that they are all alone.
