Alright, so I ran into last year's Epic Week 2015 group a little while ago, and joined in. Honestly though, I was hesitant as I was wondering if the same group (after a few group edits; not that I know much about group configurations) will be used for this year's Epic Week event?
Perhaps I'm jumping the gun, but I just can't help but wonder.
Regardless, thank you for reading this!

Nobody knows! Kim posted about this yesterday: http://www.rprepository.com/community/forumthread.php?t=23691&p=1#2471681
The groups were used to support everyone during the battles, but we don't know if or when another battle happens. I think the groups will stay open for a while until a time comes when they're needed again.

I would personally hope that we'd use the same one, as it seems it would be easiest. It already has members with a noted interest (and skill!) in goblin/monster hunting, a small cache of weapons and healing items to quickly re-supply in case of emergency, and a certain amount of recognition. That said, it was a user-created and user-managed group. Just a spontaneous decision to play cooperatively and pool resources - not an official mandate (or even suggestion!) from me.
So, it will likely be up to you guys to decide if you want to re-use the same group, or if you feel there's some benefit in starting another.

Well i have a quick question myself. Will we be able to use old items from last year's epic week? I ask cause i still have some stashed on my wall.
Unless I'm unable to access the site for some reason during the next epic week, I, at least, will be happy to help get the group updated should it be useful again. I'm sure plenty other folks will too. I know that I was super happy to see how the group changed over the course of last Epic Week to better serve its purpose!
I sort of wonder if that dragon might help out in potential future battles too, or if it'll just chill now that it's free to decide things for itself. ^^

I vote a new group be made!
Like a yearly thing so we can go back and see people from the previous year's participation vs. this years, it'd be nice to log things that way.
not to mention some of us didn't get to participate so we'd get a little lost in the shuffle, but with a new group it'll feel like a fresh start for us that want to join in for the first time ^w^

And I see now, thanks! If this year's event is gonna be a battle again, I'll make sure to be prepared!

Similarly, all the participation was tracked in the forums and database, completely separate from the group. There were also those who participated, but who did not get involved with the group; and I'm sure there were some in the group who had little to no other contribution to the event overall. So just using the group as a thing that exists would actually be a poor measure of participation.
It's a nice thought, though, and I've been thinking some form of records page or something could be added. Not necessarily reliable, since so many will be able to change it, but still. I have more trust in this community than in most.
