The nightmare got worse...Tears had begun to fall from her eyes...

he had finally reached home. he opened the door and wandered back to the room...and saw shadow crying in her sleep, he rushed over and gently shook her awake.

"shadow? shadow! wake up!"

Shadow jerked awake. "Wha-" She said in shock...She was shaking a bit.

"hey hey hey...are you ok?"

he askes in a soothing voice

She shook her head. She hugged him tight...

he returned the hug

"it's ok now..what did you dream about?"

"I dreamt I was being chased by wolves in a dark forest...they wouldn't stop chasing me..." She had begun to cry again.

he hugged her tighter

"that's horrible...but you don't have to worry anymore. you have a home now..and you have me here...nothing will ever get you. not wolves, not people, nothing"

She kept hugging him...She began to feel better.

"besides...iv'e been up all night...so i need sleep. think you can entertain yourself for a while?"

"I just wanna stay with you..." She said. She didn't want to let go...

he gave her a loving squeeze, then raised her face so she could see his.

"i'm not going anywhere"

he said to her with full honesty.

"....but i AM very tired.."

he said, resting his forehead on hers.

She put her hand on his.
"I'll stay here." She said.

he slowly began to fall to the side...

She layed him down and she layed facing him.

he was beginning drift asleep

She sang to him to help him sleep.

and finally...he was out

Shadow stayed there with him until morning came around...she had fallen asleep.

once again, the morning had come rolling around like it has for the countless days. like normal, ion awoke to the rays of sunshine beaming through the window. however, he awoke to shadows face mere inches from his own...that was not like normal.
