"A-are you sure?" She asked.

"of course i'm sure. yo-"

suddenly a man comes up behind Ion

MAN:"hey, YOU!"

Ion turns to toward him

"yes?"

the man points his hand at shadow

MAN:"what is that?"

Shadow looks away. Her ears go flat against her head. Her tail lashes a bit.
"I'm a person for your information."
She says.

following what shadow said, ion speaks up.

"SHE is my friend. could you please go awa-"

the man ignores ion and continues talking.

MAN:" are those cat ears? ON A GIRL? let me see."

he reaches for shadows head.

Shadow jerks away from his hand. "L-leave m-me alone."

seeing shadows reaction, ion grabbes the man by his face and pushes him away.

"don't touch her."

the man stands back up, looking extremely angry, and pulls out a pistol aimed right at ions face.

MAN:"don't you lay your hands on me! if i want to touch the girl, i'll touch her"

he places the muzzle against ions forehead.

Shadow begins to panic a bit...

Ion tries to defuse the situation.

"listen buddy. she's not a plaything. you have no right t-"

BLAM

a loud noise is heard as shadow watches ion falls to the ground, the man holding a triumphet smirk on his face.

Shadow becomes furious.
Her eyes glow a blood red. She makes the man point the gun at his own head.
She resurrects Ion.

a surprised gasp is heard as ions body moves again. his ragged breathing is heard for a moment before he notices shadows eyes glowing red...and sees the man holding the gun to his head

"he...he shot me?"

it came out as more of a question than anything.

"you don't intend to kill him..do you? i don't want you living with that on your soul"

he says softly

"Not unless he agrees to leave both of us alone."
She says she makes the man's finger pull the trigger slightly...
The gun doesn't go off, but if she makes him pull the trigger any further, then it will.

the man is absolutely terrified.

MAN:" don't do this man. PLEASE don't do this. DON'T KILL ME."

he begins to cry heavily.

She narrows her eyes at him.
She's about to do it...

"WAIT"

ion calls out.

"let me take care of this"

he stands to his feet and walks over to the man.

MAN:"please tell her to stop man..."

"you shot me"

he starts crying harder

MAN:"i didn't mean it man. i SWEAR i didn't mean it"

ion takes a second to ponder this.

"i won't let you die, though you may deserve it"

ion the punches the man hard in the face sending him flying several feet into a tree. the man now had a broken nose, jaw, and 9 teeth missing.

"but i will put you to sleep"

he then walks over to shadow and kneels down in front of her.

"you ok?"

he asks with genuine concern

She calms down and her eyes go back to normal.
"Yeah. I'm fine."
"Are you okay?" She asks.

he gives a small laugh.

"of course i am, why wouldn't i be?"

he taps his forhead

"like it never happened...quite handy that move of yours."

"Thanks...I just hate what that man was trying to do..."

"he wanted to treat you as a plaything...who knows what would have happened..."

he put a hand on her shoulder.

"ready to go?"

She nods to him.

"right, let's go home"

he begins walking gesturing for shadow to follow.
