Vermillion then uses his earth magic to make a raised platform where him and his wagon suspended bit above ground as he uses it to move at a much faster pace than on the ground when pushing his cart. He also uses his powers to retrieve his Durandal as he makes his escape.

"Talk about two birds with one stone. I'm incredibly lucky. And now lets see what happens next." Vermillion said deep in thought

Shadow didn't try to stop him anymore...She just walked away...towards Ion...

he holds her when she gets close.

"don't worry...i won't let anything happen to you...you know that right?"

"I...I know." She sighs.

"but...can i ask you a question...and i promise i won't get mad but....with what you said, did you ever save me because you cared..or because that's your obligation?"

he asks her while looking her in the face

She looks at him and smiles. "Because I cared." She said. "I wanted to do it..."

"i know i never asked but...why did you never tell me this...anything about you? i care for you, but i wanna know more about you."

"I was afraid of how you'd treat me...I shouldn't have been, but I was..." She looks away ashamed.

"have i ever given you a reason to be afraid of me?"

he asks genuinely

She shakes her head. "No... You haven't..."

"then please....be honest with me and tell me..."

he says sitting down.

Vermillion manages to get a very significant distance away from Ion and Shadow before he made the ground platform to fall back into the earth.

"Whew... I never thought I'll ever escape from those two. I guess the madam's secret was the magic words needed so she can finally let me go. ...Goddess, huh... She really is truly a one-of-a-kind, and don't worry about your secret, I'll take it to my grave, forever lost to the stands of time. That's the one, and final, true gift of courtesy I can give to you, madam. Besides, similar as I know my creator's identities, I'll never rat out yours as that is how I was created...and thankfully I'm glad that I never did tell them that otherwise I would really exhausted all of my attempts to escape, and forced to...well, I'm just glad that I never have to use it...

And with that said, Vermillion pushes his wagon as he begins to go back home to Alexcia.

"I was born to inherit my mother's abilities, and take her place...I inherited her abilities and I've taken her place...Piper didn't get to be so lucky...So I always treated her like she was special...Then..." She shakes her head crying... "It happened and...I've been running ever since..."

he tries his best to comfort her.

"hey hey...listen..you don't have to hold that against yourself. you don't deserve to be crushed under guilt and self loathing"

She hugged him. "You make me feel a lot better..."

" i guess that makes to of us..."

he says with a laugh

"I love being with you..."

She keeps hugging him.

he hugs her back, following with a kiss.
