You stand before Duke Reinhert the Great, one of the three rulers in the Union of Man. Though your loyalty to him is something I cannot know, your obedience is without question. None could stand against him, expect the monstrous courts and their armies. So when he called you before him you came.

He reclines in his throne with an utter disdain for his surroundings. His eyes glance towards you in his auditorium and expression softens slightly, a softening followed by a very insincere smile.

"So I see you have responded to my call. This is good as you are both timely and presentable. And do you know? The reason that is, why you are here?"
Ge'ar Freyard (played by LarssonBhoi)

"No Duke Reinhert, but I do wish to be enlightened."
Gear replied, head still down as he was on one knee, kneeling to the Duke as a show of respect.

A slight grimace come across his face at the formality shown by Freyard.

"And what say the rest of you?" questioned the Duke.
Ziroh (played by Derglet)

"Same for me, my Lord. Please explain to us which is why we all have been called here. Don't think we all got the memo." A smirk crossed the young Mercenary's face when she said this.

"Very well, then I shall speak plainly. I can no longer trust the noble houses to deal with the Fae Folk. They fear the loss of status that will come with a hearth spirit leaving them, and as such have become complacent in the fight against are greatest foe." He makes no pretense of a false smile any more. He lets his face express his discontent for the men and women he calls his colleges.

"I need you to capture the Unseelie Ambassador to the League of Scales. I don't care the political ramifications, I don't care the moral issues. I want that hobgoblin alive in chains before me. If he is missing a few teeth, or an arm, we can call that standard wear and tear."

The smile returns to his face, but its nature becomes utterly inscrutable. "And useful men, (cough) and women, must be treated graciously. I can vacate a one of the noble estates for each one of you upon success" He breathes, for what may be the first time since you have entered the room. "Make no mistake, the Dragons were a pleasant dream compared to what the Fae are capable of. Are we understood?"
Adonaar (played anonymously)

"I understand" he says as he is kneeling like Freyard in pure respect as his cloak of pure black is on him and it almost engulfs his whole body but not quite

Again the Duke gives a small cringe and returns to his initial smile.

"Carry on to the edge of my borders, 4 days travel following the roads south. Clearly I cannot allow you to act against my citizens, but if things that will prove helpful to you go missing, who is to say you took it? There the border can guide you further. You are all dismissed."
Ge'ar Freyard (played by LarssonBhoi)

"Thank you Duke Reinhert" Gear said in a controlled manner, whilst bowing to him as the swordsman turned to exit the auditorium.
"We will succeed in capturing the beast Duke Reinhert, although I cannot shake the thought it will be more worn than you desire." Freyard said with a sadistic smile dawning his face. With that said he waited for nothing and strode out the auditorium turning the corner to lean against the wall to wait for his new companions.
Ziroh (played by Derglet)

"Before we leave, may I ask why exactly are we doing this? What are your intentions?" The woman spoke, defiant to not leave before she gets at least a satisfactory answer out of him.

The Duke blinks. His smile fading into legitimate wonderment for a brief moment, but soon returning with a new found fierceness. You see the eyes and teeth of a man you can crush nations with a few well spoken words.

"I suppose my intent and the hazard are intertwined. It is only fair that you know. Have you ever wondered why the Fae are not at war with us? We fight the furies, the lizardfolk, the leviathans and all the other monsters with ease. But not the Fae. We meet their armies in combat, but that is not war. That is a vulgar brawl. War consumes a nation, and destroys the land itself. The land of the Fae, Tir Na Nog or Faeworld, is not a place an army can march."

He takes another breath, but the contraction of his lungs and the expulsion of air only heightens his fierceness. His eyes have become as painful as daggers to look into, and his smile becomes a shallow trench of swords.

"That is why I need one of the fae, but those that attend to the noble houses are on contract, they are stuck here. The ambassador however, I know he can travel with ease. He must constantly relay information and news to the Unseelie Court, the very heart of Faeworld. With him captured we can torture him until we can field an army to fight the faeish nobles and leaders. We can burn their farms and scorch there lands. We can truly fight a war against them."

He fierceness fades slowly to his initial state of disdain, but you can tell he is barely hiding the same smile from moments before. "The hazard of course being, that if he is able to get near fire, he can escape you easily by retreating into Faeworld. Now would you be so kind as to leave my throne?"
Adonaar (played anonymously)

When he mentioned lizard folk his head perked up for the slightest second then goes back down and when he tells us all to leave I get up and walk out of the throne room
Ziroh (played by Derglet)

"Rude much..." The young Mercenary whispered before letting out a puff of irritated air. "Sure, whatever you want, Sire." And with that, she exited. "Cadaah..."

With our three party members outside the throne room, they say the splendor of Reinmark City. I have already seen it, I mean how else would you get to the Reinhert Castle? I will, however, describe it for your benefit.

Tall buildings made of marble rise all around, with no clear entrances, and streets of clay bricks remain fairly empty. Several messengers and hanger-ons move materials and carry out tasks given by the gentry, but they are far fewer than the city's shear size would imply. For this reason maybe, all things here remains fairly pristine and hardly worn.

But your quest. You already carry with you your arms and armor, so only provisions for the journey are required. A herald from the court followed you out and offered you a stipend of 1,000 Reincoins(a Reincoin is always equal to the market value of a single potato) to aide you on your journey. He says if you need anything he could direct you a reputable merchant.
Ge'ar Freyard (played by LarssonBhoi)

"Herald, tell us where we can find this merchant you speak of." Freyard commanded losing the formality in his tone as he was not speaking to the Duke. If they were going to journey for as long as the Duke had expected they needed provisions swiftly and in large quantities, but not the kind that would spoil fast.

"Of coarse sir. Do the rest of you need for anything in particular?"
Ge'ar Freyard (played by LarssonBhoi)

"Seeing as my companions are reluctant to answer, I will be their proxy. Yes, we would like large quantities of food, but the kind that does not spoil fast, can you manage this?" Freyard queried, his face tilting slightly as he crossed his arms together.
Adonaar (played anonymously)

he is already out of the room as he is getting both mentally and physically prepared in multiple ways
Ziroh (played by Derglet)

Reluctant? Reluctant?! Oho~ This wasn't going to end well... The woman resisted sending this man face first into the wall. "Are there any animals of sorts we could ride or at least take on our journey for trade? Also, items to assist in making flame is also desired."

"Provisions and riding beasts? Lord Charetoux deals in such things. I will escort you to his estate immediately"

After around thirty minutes you are brought to one of the marble structures that stand within the city. The herald taps the surface three times in quick successions, and follows with a heavy kick after a delay. The heavy marble moves, by magic you would think if you didn't hear the grinding of the mechanism, and you enter to the auditorium of Lord Charetoux.

While more austere than the Duke's, to call it subtle is a vulgar understatement. A central hearth burns with a tall fire that reaches just a few centimeters below the ceiling, and the most expensive possible furniture surrounds it. The most extravagant shade of purple, said to only come from a fury's bones, seems to coat every fabric. Charetoux is seen comfortably reclined on a couch, and next to him is a hobgoblin. The latter is both carefully managing the fire and eating the fruits that are set on the nearby table.

"Oh Girard! Good to see you. I hope heralding is suiting you well" The herald shrinks slightly at this comment. "And you have brought guests, retainers of his lordship Reinhert?" Charetoux gaze shifts to you three. "Were are my manners..." He does an exaggerated clearing of the throat before introducing himself.

"I am Franklin Tuson Charetoux, head of the Charetoux family line, descendant of Charles the Dragon Slayer by way of his son in law Patrick Charetoux. I am currently bound in gratuitous duty to his lordship Duke Reinhert, whom is the brother in law of none other than Sigismund the Dragon Slayer. My service to him is to ensure his armies, nobles and cohorts are sufficiently equipped with both valuable equine steads and beasts of burden. As such I carry with me the most honorable title of marshal of the horses."

He exhales, exhausted by his own speech. " So you guys want to buy some horses and some food?"
Ge'ar Freyard (played by LarssonBhoi)

Again adopting his formal presentation,Freyard kneels to Charetoux
"Yes, my Lord, we require provisions and horses. And also flint stones, so we may light a fire on our travels."
Freyard lifted his gaze from the floor and looked into Charetoux's visage.
