"Um... you sure that's a good idea? That water could contain cholera or something." Tai suggests to him.

"Ok" john still put the canteen on his pack and kept on moving down the mountain. "Lets go."

Tai rolls his eyes and sighs. "And you say I'm reckless." He whispers before running after him down the mountain.

Time passed until they hit the foot of the mountain, and a green plain lay out before them. "Nice aint it?" John said.

His time in this place begins to bring upon him a sense of homesickness. Strange as he no longer had a home to go to. Snapping out of these thoughts, he looks to John. "Yeah I guess. I've seen better..." He mutters beneath his breath as he follows him.

He stood and looked over the plain for a few minutes. "We have about 2 kilometers to go man, we could rest or we could go now. What do you think?" John wished to go as soon as possible.

"Lets's get going. I've had enough of the outdoors for now. Perhaps a comfy bed will do... or anything worth lying on could help." He comments before moving ahead of John, obviously not willing to waste anymore time outside.

John set his direction to that of the plain to cross. "Lets go then." He made his way to the base of the mountain and the pair was off.

As the two began their hike across the plain, they were being secretly observed by small radar, thermal, and x-ray drones buried under the grass and soil. The data was being transmitted across the plain to the ancient ruins of a small city. A person sits at their desk, their face illuminated by the bank of screens, intently watching the two.

Tai squints his eyes and looks around the plain. He knew all too well of the dangers of an environment such as this. "Be careful mate. Open places like this are good spots for snipers." Tai comments as he lays his hand on his revolver, ready to quickdraw provided they are ambushed.

John nodded. "Aye." Quickly and low they moved, moving through the plain. (You just want to jump to the EVAC or did you have an encounter planned?)

All of a sudden, a disembodied voice would emit from the surrounding forest. It booms "Please, holster your weapons... Do not make any sudden movements... We are not APF..." There was rustling in the grass all around them as Several men holding guns and covered from head to toe in camoflauge emerge from the waving grass and begin walking towards them.

Tai flinches as the voice emanates from the forest. He begins to look around and sees the men in camouflage walking towards them. Knowing that they're not APF eases him slightly, with him gently letting go of his revolver and raising his hands. He nudges John. "Psst! Follow my lead!" He whispers.

John shoom his head. "Not another of your plans." He pointed at Tai's shoulder. "Need I say more? Let me do the talking. John stood still with his hand on the strap holding his rifle to his shoulder.

Tai giggles but still keeps his hands up. "Yeah alright mate. Good point." He whispers as he looks to the camouflaged men.

The men close in on them and pick up Johnny's revolver and turn to John. "Please hand over your rifle sir." One of them demands, outstretching his hand.

He slowly pulled off the rifle and took out the mag and popped the round from the chamber. He caught it and putt it back in the magazine, which he pocketed. "Here." He handed the weapon over.

The man take it and slings it over his own shoulder. He pockets the mag and turns to the others and waves at someone behind the trees. Soon, the sound of an engine rumbles in and a Jeep busts through the treeline. The soldiers grab John and Johnny by the arms and lead them over to the Jeep and help them in. They buckle their seatbelts and the one closest to the front slaps the back of the driver's seat, signalling him to go. The Jeep takes off, and one of them says, "It won't be long." and then falls silent again.

John needed to somehow let his higher ups something had gone wrong. He silently pulled out a thumb sized device and pressed it, letting them know one simple thing, he was in trouble.

Tai yanks his arm back. "Okay! Okay! I'll follow, bloody hell..." He bursts out as he gets in the jeep with the others.
