She let go after a few minutes. "It's sad how people can be so cruel."
"It is," she agreed.
She nodded. “Yeah. That way.” KK pointed back towards the park. “I usually wait until after sunset so the humans can’t see me.”
She pointed somewhere near there. "I live there. How have we not noticed each other before?" She asked.
“I just moved here, and have to go to school most days.”
She nodded. "I finished school a while ago." She said. "What grade are you in?"
“The tenth grade. You?”
"I graduated college a few years ago. But I was only 12 when I did." She said.
“Oh,” Kitkat said. “Are you emancipated?”
“Sweet. I don’t even have a job yet.”
She chuckled. "I know someone looking for a new employee if you're interested." She said.
“Really?” she asked, ears perking up.
She nodded. "And he's a friend. You don't have to hide around him. He understands people like us." She said with a smile. "I worked there for a few years before I graduated."
“That’s awesome!” Her tail started swishing in excitement.
"He even makes sure that the employees are treated fairly. When a human is mean, he makes them apologize or they're banned from his place."
“I’ve never heard of a human like that,” she said in awe. “Are you sure he isn’t like us?”
"Not that I know of." She said. She smiled. "He's been one of my only friends. And he's helped me so much that it's hard to believe that everyone is like that, but I guess that they all can't be as kind."
“Wow. When do you think I can meet him?”
