It's the weirdest thing, really. I read a lot, I write a lot, and I've even played quite a few RPGs in my time. But I've never made much of an effort to involve other people in my roleplay. Schedules were just too incompatible, either myself or other players didn't have sufficient equipment for the set-up we were wanting to use, about fifteen tons of unnecessary drama thrown in, so on and so forth.
In hindsight, I don't know why it never occurred to me to try looking for a site like this, where the format is fairly simple and you can take things at your own pace. And a decently-sized community to interact with doesn't hurt either! So before I start to ramble, I'd like to say I'm happy to have found the place. I'm sure my interests will become apparent when I ask around and see who's doing what, but just know that I'm willing to try almost anything if you've got an entertaining yarn to spin! And if you're ever wanting to talk shop when it comes to writing, by all means, you've got my ear! As long as you don't mind me talking yours off too, that is.

How did you find us?Thank you Sanne! Being the terribly creative person I am, I was looking around my room while making an account thinking, "Jeez, what should I call this one?" And at the time, "a_gallon_of_water" seemed a little more eloquent than "pile_of_clothes_on_floor" or "old_soda_can_ant_farm". Also, I like older, sillier figures of speech like "tall drink of water", or "spinning a yarn", so it worked out there too. Glad someone else found it entertaining. :p
And again, thank you! This'll probably sound a bit silly, but I had the sudden urge, after all these years, to just type "roleplay" into Google and see what came up. I wasn't disappointed! Well, I am with myself a little, but better late than never I guess?

Thank you Kim! And to be fair, I did have to go through a few pages worth of search results. :p But I wasn't as impressed with the activity or the community of other sites as I was here. Just felt cozier. So I hope so too! Honestly though, I'm not as worried about liking things here as I was. Pretty much convinced at this point.
