Recently, My dog, who I have had for eight years, had to be put down because of a random outburst of anger and violence, she attacked another dog and drew blood. It has had a huge impact on my family and me personally as I thought of her as a sister.
The reason I'm telling you this you may be asking. It's because I'm taking some leave off the site until I go back to my usual self which may take up to a day or a year. I don't really know at the moment which it will be but! If I go for a year I wish you all *insert all special events throughout the year* Seeya!

Aw I am so sorry for your loss I too have a dog and I'd hate to see him gone... I hope to see you soon my friend 
I'm so sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is incredibly hard. I'm certain he knew how much you loved him every minute of his life.

The first dog to die/be put to sleep while I have been 'concious' (being 3 years old isn't much of an aware state memory vice) was 9 years old, almost 10 but few months away still. She had been healthy all her life, but suddenly got very very sick and we just couldn't keep her around anymore, so we let her go to a Place were she would not have felt pain anymore
I know it's hard and sad when a pet dies, and that's some strange turn of events
