I know I'm not normally active in the public forum, but I have been reaching out to all the communities I'm involved with in an effort to raise money for my grandfather. He was recently diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and was forced to quit his job from the strain it's putting on his lungs; He loses his breath going up and down a few stairs or even taking a short trip out to get the mail. There is no known cure for the disease as of yet and the only treatment is incredibly expensive, especially now that my grandmother is the only one in the family currently working aside from myself.

My aim is to raise enough money to cover the majority of his medical expenses so that the family can spend more time together without worrying about the financial aspects of it all. My grandparents raised me and I try to be there to help them when I can, but I work with troubled children during the week and the program doesn't have a lot of staff; If I'm not at the program I'm usually asleep, but right now I need all the hours I can get to help my grandparents.

He doesn't know the severity or long term impact the disease is going to have on him because my grandmother would rather keep it a secret and he isn't very technologically savvy, so looking it up is lost on him. On the off chance anyone here recognizes or knows my grandfather I only ask that you keep this a secret from him as knowing I'm raising money to help him will embarrass or make him mad, but this is the only thing I can think to do to help.
