I have just started to use the Journal feature on this site for characters. It occured to me how much like Facebook this feature already way and this made me curious. Would it be possible to add a feature where you can tag someone in something you do on your Character page (Especially something so Ephemeral as journal entries which only show a limited number of possible entries.

With this one could make references to other characters who they might want the player to make note of for future RPs.

Only a suggestion and I am not sure how good of one. Hell you might already have something like that and I just do not know about it. If this is not the case though, I think it has a great ability to introduce players who might not know each other through the Six-Degrees rule. Knowing absolutely nothing about tech/coding development I would think it might be possible to eventually turning such a feature into a 'Suggested Player' based on who you play around often, and often link in your posts.

Hi there! This has come up a couple of times now, such as here,, but there haven't been plans to implement anything like it yet because of server strain & moderation upkeep concerns.

And it would make us like Facebook. >< not necessarily a bad thing, but it has potential to be abused.

I'd like something like this at some point, but I really can't say when. We have a lot of infrastructure that would need to expand first.

I've seen players use URL tags to link to other RPRs in journals, and if the journal is especially prominent to a plot point it gets linked to the players in question.

I'm wary of the "suggested x" feature on ANY site. For example, on tumblr, tagging something nets you the chance of seeing neonazis show up on your dash. Triggering images and such.

I've done some experimenting with fine-tuning suggesting RPs, characters, and the like over the years. I'm looking at playing with that a little more heavily this year. In the past, warning tags and the comfort levels people had selected were a big part of filtering.
