"Hm... Tell them would we rather give the galaxtic police their ship's coordinates?" Chidori stroked her chin, thinking deeply.
Joker transmits the message (because I'm tired of writing in Alien) and awaits a response. Within seconds, he notes that the other ship appears to be powering up its weapons.
"Attention, crew. Battle stations. We are under attack."
Everyone's datapad updates with information about hull integrity and whether or not the different systems are working.

"... Welp, so much for trying to be peaceful... So uh, while they try to attack us... I'll go inform the Galactic Police..." Chidori then did as she said, sending out an S.O.S. with the ship's coordinates to said group.
Chidori might note that that option is blocked by Joker at the moment, replaced with a button reading "Hush up now, this is a combat readiness drill."
"... Oh, well, um, okay then... Uh... Where exactly is my battle station, Joker?"
"Your job during battle to is coordinate attacks between the various security agents on the enemy ship. That means you are at your battle station now."
Aniele smirks.
"Joker. Evasive maneuvers."
The ship begins lurching about rather quickly.

"Uh, alright, well, is everyone at their station currently?" Chidori ran a hand through her hair, looking stressed in a way.
"In short, no. Looks like everyone is enjoying a bit of a rest."
Aniele types on her datapad, communicating with the old crew members.

"Uh um... WAKE UP WE'RE BEING ATTACKED!" Chidori shouted into the Comm shakily, hoping they would all get up and do something to help ease her stress.
"What?" Genevieve stopped abruptly, whirling around and nearly dropping the datapad. I never should have left, she thought, cursing her unpreparedness. She turned and raced back, retracing her steps to the engine control room. This time, though, she took a left and ducked into the room next to it, which allowed control of one of the main weapon systems. She sat and punched in her identification number into a keyboard, flicking on various radars and turning on the comm. "What's got us? I've got the left laser cannon, someone's got to take the right. Engine's fine, no hull breaches yet." She wouldn't -- couldn't -- sit still and watch the ship burn. It lurched to the side, and Genevieve wrapped her feet around the legs of the chair in an attempt to keep her balance.
"We're 'taking fire!'" Aniele says calmly over coms. "Looks like some minor system damage!"
All mechanics receive a notification that the door control system is damaged and in need of repair. To match this, Joker locks all inside doors shut. The hull integrity counter also ticks down a point.
Chidori can clearly see that the 'enemy' ship is not firing weapons, and has rather just shot what appears to be blobs of paint at the Jokalo.

"B-Blobs of paint? W-What? Alright, engineers, activate the windshield wipers, or Joker rather."
Genevieve swore as one of the screens turned red, flashing an alert. The door control system was damaged. Not good. She looked desperately around and then decided to first attempt to return fire, not knowing if she'd hit the enemy ship or not. She could hear Chidori's voice over the comm, but it was cut off. Genevieve sent out a comm to the rest of the ship. "Someone get in here and fire! We can't keep dodging them forever." She jumped up, slamming her palm against the door to open it. It was locked. "Joker!"
Joker edits Chidori's speech over coms to make it sound as if the 'enemy' is actually firing something.
"Chidori, treat this drill as a real battle. That paint is deadly deadly ballistic weaponry."
"Door systems are damaged, Genevieve. Uploading bypass instructions." Geneviene's datapad pings with data.

"Hmph... Alright, fire at their cockpits and weapon artillery..." Chidori spoke over the comm, concentrating and making straetegies.
Joker assumes control of the vacant turret, firing paint at the other ship. Chidori, if she is watching, can see the paint impact what appears to be a shield, a system the Jokalo currently lacks.
Genevieve's shot passes through the shield and impacts the other ship's hull, painting it lime green.

"Joker, assess the current situation of the ship and how fast the ship is coming at us!"
"Correlating data. Our ship has suffered damage to the door controls. Their ship is currently not moving, while ours is steadily dodging without approaching or fleeing."
Gen scrolled quickly through it, finally getting the door open. Another minute wasted. She ran to the next room, speaking into the comm. "Chidori, Joker's firing on left, I'm going to see what I can do for the doors." Two minutes. She had to push the control room door up and out of the way, and even then it screamed with protest. "This is why we need an easier way to manually open the doors," she muttered, her arms burning with strain. Gen pulled up a diagram of the ship, searching for the areas of greatest damage.
It appears that the door controls, located in the engine room, are damaged.
