Irvin jumps from his chair as various alerts sound off across the several banks of computers across the engine room. He begins to frantically opens the comm link to the bridge. "Chidori!? What the hell is going on??"
"Uh, one, who are you and how do you know my name? And uh, two, we're being attacked, report to one of the guns to fire si vou plait." Chidori said, observing the ship in front of them.
"Alternatively, we need engineers to repair the door control. And security crew manning the fighter ships would help too."
"Right... Random guy, go fix the doors! Other people, go man the fighter ships!"
Genevieve swooped into the engine room, rushing up to the banks of computers. She frantically typed in commands, trying to get to the root of the problem. "It seems they've scrambled the palm scanners," she said over the comms. "Some sort of repeating pulse... We'll need to take out whatever's emitting it on the enemy ship and rescan our hands. In the meantime, I can try to rewire the doors so they open manually..."
"Alright... Joker, scan for any waves of sorts coming from the opposing ship."
"Sorry if I haven't introduced myself properly, I've been down here in the engine room. The name's Irvin by the way. I'll get to those doors." He stands up just as Genevieve comes in and begins doing God-knows-what. He stands back a bit. "Uh, if you need help, I can do whatever."
"Can you get behind these computers here? I was thinking if we could both send a signal through the control system at the same time, we might be able to somehow shock it back into working. Worked on my old ship once." She took a few steps to the side to accommodate him.
"On it." He crouches down and inches behind the computer. He removes an arbitrary wire from its housing and also removes the main power source before positioning the new wire where the burned-out one was. "On your mark."
"All right, on three then. One..." She copied her current operation into all of the computers at the terminal, flicking off a few switches. The lights dimmed slightly as the power was transferred to the door systems. "Two..." Doubt flickered through her mind. May the deities help them all if this didn't work. Smaller, more primitive ships seemed to be more susceptible to these last-minute maneuvers, but on something like the Jokalo... well, the chances were a lot lower. Gen glanced at Irvin and grinned morbidly. "Three!"
Irvin jams the wire into the open port and the computer screens flicker off before beeping back to life. He stands up off his knees "Let's hope this worked."
"Door systems repaired. Congratulations."
Joker runs a scan of the ship.
"Incoming signal detected. Communications, please respond."

"Incoming signal detected. Communications, please respond."
"Responding.... Now!" Chidori then accepted the signal, after pressing the buttons.
The signal appears to be some form of transport beam, sending something vaguely humanoid, directing itself toward the central hallway of the ship. Chidori has just enough time to determine that before-
"Warning. Intruders detected. Security, please go to Central Hall and detain them."
"Warning. Intruders detected. Security, please go to Central Hall and detain them."
"Hm... Yeah, Security, please go do that. Joker, pinpoint the coordinates of the source of the transportation beam."
"Source is on enemy ship. Appears to be a teleporter bay. Firing."
Joker fires with both turrets, scoring a hit with one of them while the other fizzles off the shield.
"Their teleporter should be disabled."

"Alright, now, see if you can detect any lifeforms on the ship and any vital things to the ship."
"Scanners cannot penetrate that deep into the ship."
Joker blinks away from Chidori to stand behind Aniele.

"Hm... Alright... Fire at their engines then, that's the least we can do to keep them from escaping."
"Their engines are on the other side of their ship. Cannot obtain firing solution. And besides, it appears they are still not moving."
