"I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the Republic, for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Aiden says, beginning the day with the pledge, mumbling it along with the other children, sitting down afterward, letting his sadness engulf him. Ever since Miles had been given back to the state by his foster parents, Aiden had been engulfed in sadness and depression. Combined with his Step-Dad losing his job, Aiden's life had turned from good to terrible within weeks. Luckily the custody battle was over, the court deciding that Step-Dad had custody. Not that it mattered. Either way, he'd wound up in Oklahoma. With his neurotic Grandmother.
Aiden raises his hand, securing permission to disappear to the bathroom for the remainder of the class, and promptly makes his way there.

Arriving in the classroom late, Matthew sighs when realizing he missed the pledge. He sure was in for it now. However, the teacher didn't notice his presence, talking to a student at her desk privately. Weirdly, there is two ways that could go. But he didn't care now. All he cared about was getting away with being late on the first day. Those who did notice didn't seem to care either. So then, Matthew just sits in his seat and starts fiddling with the strings on his hoodie.
After about 10 minutes, the teacher returned to the front of the class, giving Matthew a sly smile. Dangit! She noticed me!

(( I asked the same thing, but I don't think he wants to establish one. ))
((I actually don't think we should limit ourselves to a post order, just so that things don't grind to a halt if one of us gets busy. If ya'll think it useful though, I'd be fine with us hashing one out.))
(( I don't think it's that big a deal either way Here's what I've got, by the way: ))
Will was staring down at his hands, which were folded in front of him on the desk. The only words he had uttered yet that day were the words of the pledge alongside his classmates, which to him, was hardly anything at all. He seemed intently focused on where he was staring, for no reason at all, really. He seemed stressed - it was his first day, after all, and he was taking a class that was a level higher than what he was used to. He must have been uneasy, because when he heard the sound of a chair sliding away from its desk, he jumped a bit, immediately turning his gaze to focus on whoever it was that was getting up. He didn't know who it was... he had never met him before, but he watched as he walked out of the room, seeming... a bit sad, actually. Will wondered why this could be. Perhaps just the anxiety of the inevitable first day, he thought.

Miles had finally got everything finalized to graduate early. He was sick of changing schools so much, and after talking with several councilors, principals, and social workers, he got his high school diploma, and left the high school he went to when he was in his group home.
He sighed as he put the diploma in a safe place. hoping his friend Aiden would approve.
He turned 18 in four days, meaning he could finally start living a real life. No more being swapped from house to house to house. Four more days. He could handle it, right?

(( I think Will and Miles would understand each other a bit Dunno how they'd meet though. ))
((Miles will somehow meet Aiden again, so there's a chance they'll meet too, I'm sure. ))
"Now my neck is open wide, begging for a fist around it
Already choking on my pride, so there's no use crying about it.I'm headed straight for the castle, They wanna make me their queen, And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying that I probably shouldn't be so mean.I'm headed straight for the castle. They've got the kingdom locked up. And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut..." Echoed within her ears as she roamed the empty halls of the school seeking out a nice place for her to sit in the comfort of her own solitude. It was only begining of the day and the blonde was already skipping out on class. But then again when was crystal ever one to show up during homeroom? She was never one to feel comfortable around others, in fact she would often give those outside of her close circle of friends the idea that she hated everyone who breathes the same air as she and walks upon the same soil that she does. The way her mind worked was a rather eventful mystery to everyone but her. As she strolled down the corridor she spotted a dark haired male leave the classroom up ahead only to begin to walk in her direction. The look on his face made her wonder if he was ok, but the moment his golden eyes met her steel blue ones, she diverted her attention to the empty floor ahead of her.

Will - since he had been staring at the doorway since Aiden had left - noticed when a boy, who was notably much taller than him, arrived late to class. He didn't think much of it, and in fact he smiled at him as he passed by to sit down. It was the least he could do, even though he didn't know the boy. He didn't look at him anymore after that, though, even though the two happened to be sitting relatively close to one another.
Aiden spots the girl, and struggles to even meet her eyes, fighting back tears. He picks up the pace, jogging past her into the bathroom, darting into a stall and breaking down, exploding into a quiet flood of tears.
Jack walked into the bathroom soon after Aiden did, and washed his hands, since they were sticky from breakfast. As he tuned to leave, he heard small sobs coming from a stall. Concerned, he knocked on it softly. "Hey... Are... You alright?" He really didn't know who it was or why he was crying, but he couldn't just leave the kid there. Especially in the bathroom. That was very unsanitary.
Matthew notices the smile of the kid close to him. It was a mystery as to who it was directed go but he didn't waste time on that. Pulling out his phone, Matt took notes with the handy pen that defined the Note 5. Somehow, the teacher didn't notice or care. But another thing to unravel is why the dark haired male walked out of the class with teary eyes. Either he was mad, nervous, sad, or just got something in his eye. He gave an instinctive shrug to answer his questions, prompting a giggle from othes around him. Checking his schedule, Matt realizes homeroom ends in a few minutes, bringing him to 1st period math. Could they have placed math in a worse place than this? Not likely.
Will heard the giggles, and tensed up, looking around nervously. What was that about, he thought, and were they laughing at him? He knew he shouldn't have been thinking such things, but...
He rubbed his arms, his eyes fixed on the teacher. He didn't want to make any bad impressions on anyone this year... although he knew it was practically inevitable.

Aiden is shocked out of his tears by the person talking to him, and walks over, opening the door.
"Do I sound alright, stranger?" Aiden says, voice weary.

Jack puts his hands in the air. "Hey. I'm sorry. I only wanted to help." Figuring this kid wasn't going to open up to Jack about whatever he was crying about, Jack started to back up out of the bathroom, deciding not to make him more upset.
He could tell that he was emotionally wrecked by the sound of his sobs. They weren't the petty "my girl friend just broke up with me my life is over!" Kind of sobs. These ones were deeper. Whatever happened to this guy hurt a lot more than just his heart.

Aiden appears saddened by the loss of company, but also realizes he should probably get washed up for first period, math, anyways. To reflect this, he walks over to the sink and begins washing his face.
Jack didn't leave the bathroom yet, and just watched the boy for a while. Then he took a deep breath and went back over. "I don't know why you were crying, and it's none of my business but just know if you need someone to talk to, I'm open for you and won't tell anyone anything okay?"
"Gee. Thanks stranger. I'll be sure to seek you out." Aiden says, sarcasm dripping through his speech as he steps away from the faucet, wiping his face dry with a paper towel. "Since talking to you about anything will fix it, right."
