I've had this happen a few times now, written up an RP post only to notice (or not) after hitting send that someone else had posted first and then having to edit things to fit afterwards. Having a notice appear if there are any new posts before it sends would be a helpful addition, I think.
Have you tried the "launch chat" feature?
