(Alright, here's the starter, this'll be an opportunity to introduce your characters and their motives to one another, a picture of the world we'll use follows this.)
Word traveled fast in the world today, but word of gold traveled faster when it was presented in such high amounts as the current state of a large and wealthy trading kingdom, Archiverigo, made itself known. The crown jewels had been stolen in the night, and, not trusting his own knights, the king had sent word out that he sought to hire a party of warriors to retrieve the jewels, offering a healthy sum of gold for their services, three hundred gold upon the acceptation of the task, and another give hundred if the jewels were brought back safely. This task intrigued many, from the noble of heart who wished to drive out the evils from the land and do what was right, to those with a thirst for power and gold whose wealth would dramatically increase as well as their status within Archiverigo, and to the adventurous at heart form whom the task would mean a long while where such things as money would be of no object, allowing them freedom from the normal.(Here's the picture of the world we'll use.)

Needless to say, from the rumors flying about through the lands that a king was seeking warriors, it seemed as though everyone who passed through the taverns were bubbling with excitement at a new challenge. Drunkards boasted about how their skills were above those that had already accepted the task, even a few began putting wages on those who they believed would make it back alive. Maria couldn't help but scoff under her breath that any of these buffoons could even find their way to the kingdom center without one of them tripping over the other. She sat with her back to the wall in one of the corner booths, her eyes hidden and shadowed by her dark bangs as she stared down at the mug of cloudy water. No, this certainly wouldn't do much longer; after all, she'd already managed to blow through her last silver pieces that she'd won off of a bet. Hell, the man had only given her half what they'd agreed on after accusing her of cheating... She did, but it wasn't like he had any proof on the matter.
Leaving her last copper piece on the table to pay for the untouched drink, she tucked her hands into her pockets and quickly slipped out while a group of halflings had entered the tavern quite loudly, giving her the perfect moment to go unseen by the other patrons. Her footsteps fell quick and silent as she ventured through the dark and dim lit streets, hoping to find a ride with a passing traveler that may have been headed in the same direction to the center ring of the kingdom; though, it was doubtful the guards would even allow her in. Pulling her collar up a bit more so that it hid her lips, she shivered and glanced back along the streets behind her, keeping a close eye on anyone who trailed too close behind.

"You all heard about those stolen jeeeeeewelssss, riiight?! *hic*" Eleak would overhear from one of the drunkards in the tavern. "They say you can buy AAANYYYTHIIING you want with them...*hic*" Hearing the news, El would turn around and inquire more about the stolen artifacts. "Oi, wazurproblem, mate...?! You plan to steal MY cash and glory...!?" The pudgy drunk slurred. Eleak would try diplomacy; "Not at all, sir. I just wanted to know more about those jewels." All of a sudden, the drunk belched loudly at his face. "You can't even hit meh even if yah tried!!" He laughed along with the other drunks.

The drunk dazedly attempted to dodge any punch Eleak made, the attempt not planned enough to give him any bonus to his dodge.

As Eleak grimaced his fist and launched it to punch the bumbling drunk, he missed completely and fell against one of the tables. Soon after, the intoxicated group began to laugh heartily, mockingly, at the fallen attacker. "Try again when you're not drunk, boyyyyyyy!!!"

Despite having already been a few buildings away by now, Maria could still hear the sound of a loud crash from the Tavern behind her, causing her to pause and turn back in mock curiosity. It wasn't unusual for someone to have started some sort of brawl there, but she still tended to be distracted by the loud sound. No matter though, it wasn't like it was any of her concern to begin with, she had to get back to walking or the search would be over before she even arrived.
The heavy sounds of hoof beats rattled the glass windows of the small shops and tavern as Naomi rode past. Thankfully, she'd been approved to venture off on this quest to aid her kingdom's ally. Just as she'd hurried along, the glimpse of a short girl..? Child..? Had come into view right in her path. Trying her best to slow the horse in time, she yanked hard against the reins, feeling it's hooves skid to a stop against the cobble stone.

Maria flinched in surprise, turning back just as she saw the large creature baring down on her with little room to stop. Her breath held as she froze in surprise, watching as the creature skidded across the ground only to successfully stop inches in front of her face, it's snout almost pressed to her forehead as it let out a warm huff, brushing the bangs back off of her face. She'd yet to say a word, instead moving to clench her collar tightly in front of her lips and take a step away from the creature.
"Whoa! I-I'm so sorry, are you hurt?" Naomi stared down at the girl with a worried gaze, swinging her leg around to climb off her horse's saddle and kneel down next to her so that they would be at eye level. "I didn't hit you, right? I apologize, I should have stopped sooner, but you were just so sm-.. uh shadowed-.. that I hadn't seen you." She grimaced, her lips forming into a firm line as she caught herself before possibly offending the girl she nearly trampled. A small flick of her red ears had shown how worried she became by the child only staring up at them, having not made a sound despite the situation where someone else, more than likely, would have chewed her head off for being reckless.
She blinked, unfazed by the girl's words despite a slight glower at her over the (undoubtedly) accidental height comment, but no, she wasn't hurt. If the woman hadn't have acted as quickly as she did, it would have been another story. With a small head shake in response to being hurt, Maria cast her glance over the woman's ears in interest, catching the little twitch of them at the question. Yes, this staring contest of sorts between them had taken on a fair level of uncomfortable, and they had only just met.
El would slowly get up from the cold floor, placing his hand on the newly formed bruise. Being the butt of the joke, he tried to keep calm; he didn't try to do something like this again. Instead, the Monk headed out to the castle, exiting the tavern. "Why do I keep doing this...?" he would ponder endlessly on this question, trying to find an answer for it. However, he noticed two females beside, a rather petite gloomy one and a fox-eared one taller than the other, as strolled to his destination.
(What's going on with this post is called a random encounter roll, in cities it'll happen every 5-7 posts, in less populated areas it'll be every 10-12 posts. Also, 91-100 means a chance to get gold or aquire/better your skills.)
It was a quiet night out besides the sounds spilling from taverns into cobblestone streets, making it fairly easy for them all to hear one another.

This is a percentile roll, 0-70 means no encounter, 71-80 means a chance at a fight, 81-90 means a minor even mostly used for interest
Leaning over past the woman in front of her, she glanced at the man who approached, unsure since she had never seen this man before. The woman in front of her seemed to keep staring at her as if she hadn't heard him approaching, or simply didn't mind, but Maria was less sure that this person would be friendly of sort. He looked rather large after all, much like the woman. Being the smallest in the bunch, she actually decided to step closer to the horse so they wouldn't take too much notice and would (hopefully) just converse without asking her questions.
"So, what is your name, young one?" She asked finally, only to watch as the girl glanced around her and stared at the source of the foot steps. "Mh?" Turning back to face him, the woman rose to her feet cautiously with a smile. He didn't seem to be anything of a threat, So why did the kid hide? Her gaze became questioning, but polite none the less as she ran her hand over her horse's mane, knowing it still needed to cool down after making the poor thing stop so suddenly. She was actually lucky it hadn't gotten spooked. "Why, hello there, Sir."
"Hm? Oh, hello there," Eleak would greet the woman. Up close, she appeared to have a kind face, one that almost reminded El of his mother. "Pardon me for asking, but which way is the town's castle?"
She smiled, relaxing since he was polite rather than some mugger of the sort. The kid must be skittish or something.. "Oh! Are fellow adventurer? Just follow this street up until you reach the second wall, from there (should the guards allow you passage.) You head up the main road and it should take you straight to the inner circle." Naomi had moved to walk toward him, holding out her hand as a friendly gesture. "I'm Naomi Renard, Dame of Ewihim, I was headed there myself actually, if you'd like to accompany me? It shouldn't be too much further according to the inn keeper's directions."
Peeking out from behind the leg of Naomi's horse, she gently moved to tug on the woman's cuff to get her attention, quickly gesturing up the street with a nod in hope the woman would understand that she was on her way there as well. After all, she would be less likely to be declined by the guards if she were accompanied by a knight from another kingdom, knowing her well enough or not. Making herself look a bit smaller by hugging her jacket tight to her thin frame, she hoped to get on the woman's soft side by playing along with this "child" thing
Eleak would look down at Naomi's hand, shaking it and introducing himself. "Eleak Carter. Beggar from Col'ress and Monk from Silvress Mountain." Hearing the request, he would gladly accept it. "That seems fine." He would then look behind the Dame and notice the petite woman hiding behind Naomi. He then proceded to ask about her. "Who is she?"
The sounds of music drifted from a tavern nearby, making it likely that the night crowd and the events that went with it had started.
rolled 1d100 and got 11
(Just another random encounter check, nothing to be alarmed over, maybe.)
"Pleasure to meet you, Eleak from Silvress." She smiled in a playful manner, hoping she doesn't come off as arrogant or something after introducing herself like that. Feeling the light tug on her arm, her attentions turned to Maria, "Hm? Yes, young one?" Blinking at the girl's actions, she was rather confused that she hadn't just told her that in the beginning, directing her words seemed overly complicated, "Yes, you're welcome to travel with us, if you'd like." Oh yes, great idea Naomi, bring a child along on a dangerous adventure.. Ah well, she could always leave her to be cared for by some other guards at the center of the kingdom before they set out. "Oh, her? I'm.. not entirely sure to be honest. I'd almost hit her on my way through, but she doesn't seem to be one for words. You wouldn't mind if she came along with us, right? After all, it's dangerous for one as young as her to be alone out here after dark." Naomi reasoned, being that she figured this girl couldn't have been over maybe nine or ten because of her height.
