I just sat there.

I went downstairs and laid on the couch.

Faye was still in the living room. "Mom still mad?" She asked quietly.

I nodded."Yep she won't talk to me."

"Oh..." She thought for a minute. "If I helped Rajin study and keep his grades up would that make her happy?" She asked.

I looked at her."Maybe, but she'll have to see his next report card.Rajin knows what he should to get an A.He just doesn't want to do the work."

"I don't want mom to be mad.."

I sighed and sat up."She's not mad at you though Faye."

"I know.. but when she's mad you sleep on the couch and no one is happy.."

"What's so bad about me sleeping on the couch?"

"It scares me.. I get afraid that she won't be happy again and might make you leave..."

"If she does i'll visit everyday."

"What if she won't let you?...."

"No one can keep me from visiting you guys."

"I don't want you to leave.... I don't want mom to get mad ever again...."

I pat her head."We can't stop her from getting made and one day she might make me leave."

"Sometimes I feel like she hates us.... Why does she have to get mad?..."

I was standing at the entrance to the living room, listening to them, a sad look on my face.

I hugged her."She doesn't hate you or Rajin.She may hate me, but she could never hate you two."

Faye hugged him. "I love you daddy..."

"I love you too Faye."
