I've noticed a lot of interesting differences between the forums here and on good ol' TK. Mostly about the responses you might receive to certain fun topics. So I thought I'd share some examples of the real difference between RPR and TK. (Warning, there might be some language in there.)

(...okay, more than some)

RPR:
A- "This thread is now diamonds."
B- "On a horse."
C- "Holding two tickets to that thing you like."
B- "On a boat."

TK:
A- "This thread is now diamonds."
B- "...did your mother drop you on your head as a baby? Often?"
A- "I-- what?"
C- "God you're retarded. Why don't you go off somewhere and see what cyanide tastes like, huh?"

RPR:
A- "I'm kinda new here. I've only RPed a little bit in the past and I was wondering if somebody could maybe show me the ropes?"
B- "Aww, sure thing! Tell you what, meet me at <INSERT ROLEPLAY SITE URL> and whip up a quick character idea, and we'll go from there! "
A- "Wow! Thanks! I appreciate it!"
B- "No problem! )

TK:
A- "I'm kinda new here. I've only RPed a little bit in the past and I was wondering if somebody could maybe show me the ropes?"
B- "Seriously? Why the fuck do you come to a roleplay forum if you don't know how to roleplay?"
C- "The rest of us have better things to do than sit there and try to teach some loser how to RP."
D- "GTFO NOOB. LAWLCANO."

Conclusion: RPR is so much better than TK. We're nicer.

Yep. That is genuinely the point.

Well, specifically, I was trying to make a point of what a horrible and hateful place the TK forums have become, but it's basically the same.

Although, it seems with other roleplaying sites, certain sections of the fourms aren't neglected.

*COUGH* SPACE *COUGH*

Oh gods, I know that feeling of the last example. I've role played on a ton of different sites as I've been doing it roughly ten years! And I've definately felt picked on when joining a well-established forum rpg site when I was used to a more chat-based form. It's not cool.

No, it's not. A lot of people after a while start to get all elitist, like they're better than other people. Except some of these people on the TK forums that tend to rip a lot of ass also tend to be people who don't ACTUALLY roleplay very often at all- they're chronic OOCers who just hang around the MainHall or Lobby the whole day.

Yup. The kind they give gold stars for. They're Gold Star Obnoxious.

Where is a "like" button when I need one?

Bug Kim about that one. KIM. We need Like Buttons! But not dislike buttons. Those are for hate mongers and Nazis.

Why not find a different place to RP at when TK is so horrible?

To the Scifi section!

It's not so much TK as a whole as much as certain parts of it. There are still certain refuges of sanity I enjoy, like the Forest or the West Tower, or even occasionally the Garden. But places like the Lobby, MainHall, or Pub are just sort of "No Fly Zones" for me.

I honestly prefer this place a lot more than tK. I thought tK was cool and all at first, but now it just seems that most people there are jerks. I don't actually RP here, but this place definitely has a much friendlier atmosphere.

Though, I always feel somewhat rejected no matter where I go. Whether it's me or not is beyond me. Probably is just me.

Noooo ooooone gets rejected here! Unless, of course, you're one of those asshole elitists. And even then! We might guide you back to the path of RPR awesomeness!
